There's a black guy who does a weekend radio show where I live. His joke on Saturday was:

There's a couple black guys and  a couple of Mexicans, and a Puerto Rican  in a car.Who's driving??

I have not seen or heard about this joke which you are referring to.  I have read the official transcript and watched the officially-released video.  There is no joke.  But that's okay, because my six-year-old likes to make up stuff, too, when he's not predicting stock futures with his crayons.

There's a woman on my block who I come into regular contact with - very nice person and we have a good rappor.  She works for a Jewish organization.  I finally decided to look up her bio.  The bio basically said her sole job function is investigating and reporting  "right-wing hate" against Jews. 

I can't imagine the level of mind-blowing cognitive dissonance she would experience if she knew I was a right-winger, and if I ever tried to clue her in to the fact that most conservatives I know possess the same level of anti-semitism as the average reader of Commentary. 

This type of stuff from the left probably never even passes her desk.

This joke is not about a religion. No identifiable halakha affects this joke. This joke is about a race with a reputation for cheating other, simpler people. The protagonist could be replaced with, say, a Greek or an Armenian and the joke would progress the same way. This is textbook antiSemitism.

If someone whom I knew was not an antiSemite told me this joke in a bar, I'd probably laugh, I admit; and it helps that a Talibani is the simpleton here. But this wasn't told to peers in a bar; and the indications I get from this administration aren't exactly philoSemitic, if you get my drift. It's more likely that the antiSemites who are in any group, in this case the NSA, now feel like they can let it hang out a bit more.

The putative lesson of NSA Jones' joke is that crafty and heartless Jews give people the runaround and make a buck off it. Yes, it's offensive. It feeds a stereotype Older Than Print that became the justification for quite a bit of bad behavior toward Jews. And NSA Jones thinks this particular story has an element of truth.

I disagree. The "victim" was a goddamn Taliban murderer, and deserved to be sold an exploding cigar, rather than just given a runaround. The Jew was much kinder to the scumbag than I would have been. Though I'm sure the Taliban murderers are held in much higher esteem in the Zero administration and surely are viewed as "victims" rather than the savage child murderers they actually are. The joke is a failure in making the Taliban victims, if that was the purpose. The joke was also a swipe at capitalism, at least as much as anything. Once again, FAIL. It all depends on your perspective.

As a Jew, I think the problem is the systemic hatred of Jews in this administration.  Out President is an anti-Semite.  He has always been an anti-Semite and he surrounds himself with Jew haters.  He is a Palestinian Sympathizer and a Terrorist / Jihadist Apologist.

This joke did not make me laugh because I kept expecting the punchline to involve the "militant"  beheading the Jew. That stereotype is far more present in my mind than the exploitative Jew meme. Call me crazy.

Regarding the joke, I thought it was kinda cute, not offensive. Most ethnic jokes poke GENTLE fun at targeted ethnicity. What I object to is that coming from the Anti-Semetic administation is what makes the joke offensive. Knowing how Obama really feels about the members of my tribe is what gives this joke the poison.

1 question I have for the powers in office is this: Why is it OK to make ethnic jokes,(As long as it's not Muslims) but Franklin Graham gets uninvited from giving a speech at the Pentagon for speaking truth?

It also suffers from a weirdly mistaken context.  The Taliban has no interactions with Jews.  They are in Afghanistan and Pakistan, where you just don't find any Jews.  One would hope that the national security adviser would, at the very least, understand this.  Because of the utterly contrived context that Jones forwarded, it makes it even dumber than just the joke itself, who's telling it and where it's being told.

As I said above, the basic joke is pretty old and well-known.  I'm not offended by the general form, as it is semi-funny.  But to make it between a Taliban and Jews is quite original, totally weird, and really calls into question the intelligence of the person repeating it.  For the idiot Jones to say it's a "true story" just puts an exclamation mark on the intent of telling it and Jones' own thoughts and his lack of a brain.

I think "Protien Wisdom" wins this one.
