NYC Moron Meetup Monday?
— Ace

I'm not sure if this is going to work, but just in case you're interested and can arrange it, Iowahawk has told me he's in NYC on Monday, and wants to have a beer.

Since I don't really want to talk to him very much, I figured I could round up a bunch of people for it so I could less-obviously ignore him.

This is kind of sketchy because he's got some kind of stupid thing to do later on that night and I'm not sure if it will all actually work.

Anyway, if you're in NYC or can get here, maybe keep the day open. I'll talk with him (and some folks who recommend meeting places) and see if I can't lock this down.

Oh, and re: Aceapalooza: I haven't done anything on this in a while. First I was waiting to hear back from a Big Macher (he seems to have passed, silently), then I got busy, and all during this time I was also lazy. I will get back on that soon.

Hey, Rum.  Wanna pick me up in Savannah on the way up?  We could stay with my ultra lefty lib sis-in-law in the city.  It would be fun to watch her head explode when I explained we were going to hang with some conservative bloggers.....

And I still vote for KC for the palooza thing.  The most centrally located "big city", great BBQ and live entertainment and Lawrence (99% libtard) Ks only a half hour away.  Think of the hunting possibilities right there.

btw - Morons, if you wish to purchase an out of state libtard/hobo hunting license, they must be purchased through me as I am the only state approved outlet for them.

Moronettes, we can work something out I'm sure.

12 I'll be on the right coast, but the wrong state. How long does it take to get from Orlando to NYC?

Walking, driving or flying?

If you're driving, come through Charlotte, you'll only have 12 more hours.  Actually, just go up I 95 it's about 30 hours.

Flying?  2 hours in terminal before, 2 hour flight. half hour cab ride, bingo you there!

Walking start today, be there for May Day.

Last time I checked the test went something like this:

Moron to New Guy: I'm really felling optomistic about the Democrats and/or Obama.

New Guy: nods and says yes, isn't the President Smooth?

Mole.

New Guy: spits out beer and starts violently choking.

Grab my e-mail from ace (however the hell that works) and I'll let ya know when that happens. Could be a while as that band is taking some time off. Which is a good thing 'cause I'll be getting to do a few gigs with the front man in the meantime. He's afraid of getting rusty.

I was just IM'ing my son. We had a very interesting conversation.  He has alot of friends who are libs, who think Obama walks on water, wants this fucked up health care thing to pass blah blah.  Anyhooo... my son says they have been getting into political discussions lately and he said mom, what do I say?  I know this health care bill sucks, I know everyone hates it and I wish I had been paying attention the past several years.

THAT folks, is a breakthrough.  He is interested, he wants to debate his friends.  But he feels he is so behind in his knowledge that he'll appear stupid and he wants to be armed with good information.  He asked about the health care bill.

Anyone have knowledge of a couple of good sites I can go to that explain the health care bill, what it will mean for us all?  Something I can email him?  I  have tons of shit I have printed, hell my husband even downloaded the whole thing, but I can't remember where I have gone, I go all over the place every day.

Any help is appreciated.

Meeting each other, having dinner, gambling, spending time at the pool just hanging out--with a drink or two. Let's get to know each other and then plan then next one to be the all out fest with speakers and shit.

Type a sentence. Highlight the sentence, or a word in it.
Click on the little icon above that kinda looks like a link next to the bucket icon (9th from left). In the bigger box far to the right of the word :source" paste your link. If it contains "http" do Not also choose http from the box just to the left.

#74, the nicest sword I own is a very expensive custom katana that an authentic genius and certifiable whacko name of Shark Lambdin did for me a few years ago. I could scrounge up a basket-hilt broadsword (the so-called "small claymore") for looks, and a friend has a nice one that Paul Chen did, but I like the katana.

If that doesn't work, it's rifle-pistol time.

Posted by: SGT Dan at January 05, 2010 12:08 PM (GgXZc)

88 @89 - I'm somewhat jealous. Mine is one of Paul Chen's practical plus katanas.  It's not fancy but still a worthy piece of steel.  He does make some very nice ones when you get into the (last I checked) thousand dollar range. My practical plus was a $400 one that I got for just under $200 bidding on e-bay.

89 Y'know, if the FBI would let me out for a few days I'd love to come to NY for this.  Hell, I'd even take the train.

Iowahawk got the story all wrong.  I really do still have my nuts.

92 Yeah, OK, a meet up in NYC... could work for me, seeing how I live only 90 minutes from Times Square. Only thing is... I shudder to think of the sort of party facility the average moron can afford. There is the Pink Pussycat Cafe on 8th Avenue, but the girls expect tips. It's kind of cold for an outdoor meet up in Central Park - the vendor hot dogs would freeze. I nominate the Jekyll & Hyde Pub close to Central Park.

Brooklyn is cooler than Manhattan but I am in either way. Park slope ale house or union hall are my Brooklyn suggestions. About twenty mins beyond Manhattan. Manhattan is gey

You can't afford Manhattan you broke bish

I think the biggest misconception the youngin's have is they think they won't have to pay for healthcare.  I told a friend of my daughter's the other day that she will be REQUIRED to purchase healthcare insurance if the bill passes and she was astonished.  I also told her if she didn't, she'll be taxed, fined and possibly jailed.  She almost fell off my kitchen counter that she was sitting on!

Most people have no clue.

Tami, he told them that and they just keep saying "well, we need it".  I mean these people are total twits.  My son really should be able to debate these dopes without any help, but hey he asked me for help, I'm sure not gonna let him down.  This just warmed my heart today when he told me all this.

(no PBRs=No Iowahawk)

111 Central Park South area you say? Let's get together near Bloomies, at David Burke in a Box. Good food. Casual setting. Next to good shopping. I can even fit in a hair appointment at Oscar Blandi while I'm in town. Have your people call my people.

One of Andrew Sullivan's readers started off his letter posted on 05 Jan 2010 01:55 pm as such:

I realize you rarely get to travel in true "teabagger country" but here in rural Mississippi, there is an interesting phenomenon occurring that the Brit Hume brouhaha brings into clearer focus...

Don't jump to conclusions there, I am sure Andrew Sullivan visits "teabagger country" far more than you give him credit for.

We just have to call him on it.   http://tiny.cc/S764Q  Safe Link.

124 Why in the blue hell is there finally a Moron Meet-Up in a town I'm actually going to be in (featuring King Moron AND Iowahawk), and it happens the day AFTER I leave.  WTF?!?!?!

Posted by: Hoss Fuentes at January 05, 2010 02:09 PM (cDS2t)

125 PS: Being in Delaware sucks.  I don't remember when the last Philly Moron Meet-Up was (probably before I began lurking), and my attempt at a Delaware one was an EPIC FAIL.

Posted by: Hoss Fuentes at January 05, 2010 02:14 PM (cDS2t)

126 Darn, earlier sock!  Yeah, Hoss, being in DE sucks!  (Although, I always enjoyed crossing the state line for tax free shopping!)  Their gas was always cheaper when I lived in PA too.  Wasn't it DE where the State Attorney Gen. killed his girlfriend and dumped her body (in a cooler) in the ocean?

Posted by: runningrn at January 05, 2010 02:18 PM (CfmlF)

127 Ooh, and for those of you going to this event, could one of you sneak a pic of our fearless hobo leader?  I am dying to see what he looks like now!

Posted by: runningrn at January 05, 2010 02:19 PM (CfmlF)

128 runningrn-Sort of.  Thomas Capano was the deputy AG.  Before my time in Delaware, though.  I did think it was funny that one of my wife's co-worker's parents owns Capano's old house.

Posted by: Hoss Fuentes at January 05, 2010 02:25 PM (cDS2t)

Ooh!

Our girls Lacrosse team played Tatnall my senior year down there.  Talk about a bunch of spoiled blue bloods!

Posted by: runningrn at January 05, 2010 02:28 PM (CfmlF)

130 Also, for added hilarity, Capano was an appointment by then Governor Tom Carper, now senior senator from Delaware.

Posted by: Hoss Fuentes at January 05, 2010 02:29 PM (cDS2t)

131 Wow!  I guess that shows you what a good judge of character Mr. Carper is.  Is he a democrat or a republican?

Posted by: runningrn at January 05, 2010 02:34 PM (CfmlF)

132 1.) What do you think?  The last time DE went Republican was '84, I think.

2.) I'm actually in Lower Slower Delaware.  Don't associate me with those people that cancel out my votes.
