Obama Admits He Has Some Shortcomings
— Ace

It's not quite "I'm too dedicated too my work and too detail-oriented," but it'll do:

Asked about his shortcomings, Obama said he needs to better explain to the American people why he makes the decisions he does.

You know the only way he can correct that single defect, right? You got it: More speeches, more professorial condescension, and more urging his supporters to "get in the faces" of those who don't fully appreciate how awesome Captain Wonderful is.

It hardly needs stating at this point that this is the only flaw a liberal will ever confess: An inability to properly deliver his message. Not the policy itself; just a lack of crafty messaging. (The GOP, on the other hand, succeeds not because its policies are popular or good, but only because of savvy (hate-filled, racial-code-worded) messaging.)

A liberal's only flaw is an inability to toggle down their brainpower to the level of the common man in order to engage him in the grunt-filled, primitive proto-language he's capable of comprehending.

14 It's true, and I regret it terribly, but sometimes I do forget how astoundingly stupid the people are.  One of my goals is to remember, when explaining my decisions, that my audience is, by and large, incapable of comprehending concepts unless they are presented to them in a basic, elementary way.

The other day I was listening to the radio and "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" was playing.

I got to thinking how Slick Willie used this to massage his way into the White House -- 'Help is on the way,' etc.

And then comes Barack Obama with his platitude-driven camapaign of Hope & Change. He promised to 'fix' everything. He promised a better tomorrow.

And Obama is still jerking us off with the economy -- keeps telling things are looking good, Just stick with Obama and things will be better tomorrow.

The GOP, on the other hand, succeeds not because its policies are popular or good, but only because of savvy (hate-filled, racial-code-worded) messaging.)

The fact that the Left always sees secret messages in conservatives' speeches shows just how insane they are.  That is one of the classic signs of schizophrenia.

It's also a sign of how uncaring they are about normal people.  Case in point: in 1988, George H.W. Bush was running ads against Dukakis that condemned him for furloughing Willie Horton, a rapist and murderer who, on furlough, did more rape.  Dukakis refused to fix the system and wouldn't even meet the victims.

So what does the Left get out of this?  That's right, it was all about those prejudiced Republicans getting people to hate poor Willie Horton because he was black.  Keep in mind that this was at a time when violent crime was at an all-time high--but, no, anyone who objected to it was a racist.

Meanwhile, Dukakis and his supporters had armed guards protecting them, even as they wanted to take firearms away from honest people that they needed for self-defense.

117 Here's a taste of the sort of brilliant expalantion that the Indonesian Imbecile is capable of:

"I don't have litmus tests around any of these issues but I will say that I want somebody who is going to be interpreting our Constitution in a way that takes into account individual rights, and that includes women's rights."

"Individual rights" somehow includes "women's rights".  Hey, Precedent Retard, "women" is plural ... so, I know they don't teach this at Harvard, but "women's rights" are quite different from "individual rights".

Of course, to be fair, it's entirely possible that the word that stumped the Indonesian Imbecile was "includes".

Before deciding what revenue options are best for dealing with the deficit and the economy, Obama said in an interview with CNBC, "I want to get a better picture of what our options are."... .In the CNBC interview, Obama said he was waiting for recommendations from a bipartisan fiscal advisory commission on ways to tackle the deficit and other problems. When asked if he could see a potential VAT in this nation, the president said: "I know that there's been a lot of talk around town lately about the value-added tax. That is something that has worked for some countries. It's something that would be novel for the United States." Fuck you you lying piece of shit. Obama is no mystery to me.  He is like most of the lefties who came of age in the 1980's.  I remember at the time, believe it or not, most college students were conservative, but there were that minority who weren't.

Like Obama, most of them believed that they were both more intelligent, and representative of The Future.  They knew that they were in on the great secrets, because they weren't like all the chumps who liked Reagan.  They knew that "when we get done with these Eighties, the Nineties are going to make the Sixties seem like the Sixties," as the guy in Flashback said.

Of course, they were both stupid and wrong.

Stupid, because they knew neither the facts of the politics at the time nor the history of their own party.  They would often embarrass themselves by, for instance, attacking Reagan's policies in "South America" when they meant Central America, and they would invoke JFK, without the slightest clue that he was an anti-Communist hawk.  They would often brag about how they were Gary Hart supporters, even though they couldn't name a single thing he supported.  (He was an empty suit).

Wrong, because the future didn't happen the way they figured.  The Democrats didn't win in 1988, and their plans for the US making up with the USSR fell by the way when the USSR ungraciously ended itself.  The US became the dominant superpower, and instead of a return to 1960's economically and socially, capitalism took off more than ever before, and people became more and more disenchanted by abortion and gun control.  They did get a Democrat President in 1992, but he was forced to curb his appetite for socialism and was eventually succeeded by a Republican anyway.

Oh, yeah, did I mention that they also liked gawdawful music?  Here in Reno, they had a radio show in the late 1980's called the "Bottom 40."  One time when my buddy and I were drinking with some punk rock losers, they tried to turn us on to that shit.  They failed.  It was utter crap like Midnight Oil--basically punk without the punk beat, which is kind of like bathwater without a baby.

124 6 A liberal's only flaw is an inability to toggle down their brainpower to the level of the common man in order to engage him in the grunt-filled, primitive proto-language he's capable of comprehending.

Wow, well put.  In fact, one might say you have a gift.  Come to think of it, I think I've heard that somewhere before.  In fact....... how does that square with the inability to communicate one's brilliance?  Must be because the concepts are so elegant, so transcendent, that language simply isn't adequate to convey them.   Yeah, that's the ticket.

Someone needs to tell the Indonesian Imbecile that you don't have "litmus testS" around a bunch of issues.  But, no surprise that he has no clue what a litmus test is, or how it's used as an English expresion.  I guess he thinks that just uttering "litmus" makes him sound smart.  He does that with "strategic" and some other words that he has no understanding of.

I know what he should do.  He should write down his genius thoughts in a book and sell it at Barnes and Noble.

He could call it.   Dreams of my Communist Drunken Mustard Abandoning Father.  Rev. Wright could write the GODDDDDDDAMNED forward of the GARLIC NOSED EYETALIAN or JOOOOO editor let  him.

Or he could call it THE LITTLE RED BOOK.

He had a little bit of a hard time explaining who his favorite White Sox player was.  In fact he mumbled and stumbled then mentioned how he loved the CUBS too, but again never made mention of any player.

He is dumb as shit

He's such a thin-skinned, bratty, sniveling purple-lipped man-child. Look at how he reacted to the gay hecklers in Ca...he thought he was safe there. I'd love to see what he would do if the hecklers grew larger and louder at one of his rallies, outnumbering the lethargic "yes we can" drones.

199 No skills??  Have you seen his jump shot.?

Come to think of it, I haven't seen his jump shot. Heard the press slob the knob over how JugEars is supposed to have game, but they never show any video of an actual game. Just some pre-game, foul-line warmups.

Betcha he can't dribble without tripping over his shoelaces.

Narcissists are terrible at admitting they have any shortcomings, or if they do, the implication is that it's someone elses fault. That is exactly what Obama did with that comment.

What's frightening, and yet not suprising, is that no one can get the idea through to him that he sounds awful when he says things like "I'll say it again more slowly this time".

208:  I'm thinking their admiration for his basketball game is like the admiration of Michael Scott on The Office for Stanley's game.  He's black, so he must be a good player, even if he can't hit a wastebasket with a crumpled piece of paper from three feet.

Compared to Chris Matthews, he probably is a good player.

203 WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama suggested Wednesday that a new value-added tax on Americans is still on the table, seeming to show more openness to the idea than his aides have expressed in recent days.

For days, White House spokesmen have said the president has not proposed and is not considering a VAT.

"I think I directly answered this the other day by saying that it wasn't something that the president had under consideration," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters shortly before Obama spoke with CNBC.

I want to start an Obama cult.  Not to actually worship him, but just to see how the lefties and the media (BIRM) react to it.  We'll pray before a giant icon the The One and sacrifice, I don't know, Monopoly money or something.  I'll be High Priest, but I'll need some lesser priests and a Chief Auguery (to interpret things like the flights of birds, poll results, stock market crashes etc).  And we'll have to have some hot temple virgins, of course.  2007 is hereby redesignated 1 BO (Before Obama) and 2008 is 1 AO (Anno Obama, natch).

Preach the Good News, people!  Money shall fall from the sky!  Wall Street shall be parted and He shall lead us forth to the land of federally subsidized milk and low-sugar honey!

The regime denied any interest in a VAT tax?

That means a VAT was the plan from the start. Any time this regime seems disinterested in some bullshit anti-American idea, you know that the idea in question is exactly what they're planning and will soon be cramming down our throats.

Man 1: Well, I am a workaholic.
Man 2: I push myself too hard.
Homer Simpson: Well, it takes me a long time to learn anything, I'm kind of a goof-off...
Smithers: OK, that'll do...
Homer: ...a little stuff starts disappearing from the workplace...

215 "So his only flaw is the inability to communicate with the peasants? So, in fact, it's not really his flaw, but unrelenting ignorance of the masses that's the problem." By inference we MUST also conclude he is not a good communicator/speaker. He just told us so! After all, a "good speaker" has no problem delivering a complex message.

Oh no, no more speeches -- someone tell him he's just teh wonderful again; then maybe he'd lay off the incessant speechifying.

No? Wouldn't work?  He'd still make a speech a day?  Yeah, you're probably right.

What should Obama's song be?

I was thinking of an oldy, but a goody from Mac Davis, Oh Lord it's Hard to be Humble:

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
when you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror
cause I get better loking each day.
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man.
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
but I'm doing the best that I can.

My second choice would probably be Would I Lie to You from the Eurythmics

The fact that the Left always sees secret messages in conservatives' speeches shows just how insane they are.  That is one of the classic signs of schizophrenia.

Ok, well to be fair I did play one of Sarah Palin's speeches backwards the other day and I clearly heard the words "Chair" and "SnigMig".  I'm not entirely certain what significance that has other than the fact that it's still a hell of a lot smarter than anything that has ever come out of Joe Biden's mouth.
