— Ace Kabuki.
WeÂ’ve seen this movie before and it was dismal enough that IÂ’m not real excited about the sequel. As with so many things, itÂ’s a case of The One following BushÂ’s lead, making a show of border security in hopes of softening opposition to a comprehensive immigration bill in Congress. It almost certainly ainÂ’t happening this year, but half a bil for enforcement at least gives purple-district House Dems a talking point ahead of November.
I think Allah's right but wrong: This isn't a preamble to a new comprehensive POS effort. Or, well, it is, but... later.
This signals that Eric Holder has been given the go-ahead to take Arizona to court over its immigration enforcement law.
Put the needed political cover into place, first. Then claim "we're making real progress" and so we don't need Arizona's law. Then file suit.

I wonder if the National Guard will be able to ask for papers?
Sounds kinda like the Nazis to me, having soldiers asking people for papers and stuff or maybe the trail of tears.

I've played by all the rules, and yet, my government is actively trying to screw me.
How should I feel about that?

How can he possibly win? Ah well, I hope they give it a shot. I don't think the Democrats realize how badly their side is playing on this issue.

Not at all. If Ace wasn't double posting I'd be worried.

Either the laws are going to be faithfully enforced with no reference to their impact upon the chances for one's preferred political party or we abandon this pretense of Constitutional Republicanism and just admit it is a farce.

Btw, did anyone hear about those idiot pro-illegal activists who're busing themselves to AZ and expecting to get arrested just on the basis of being Mexicans?
I thought they were boycotting Arizona

Frankly, I hope Holder is stupid enough to sue AZ. This will just be like when he was trying to get the terrorists trial in NYC, near grd zero.
The backlash will be huge. close to 70% of Americans already support AZ's bill. and this will just make the American voter's rage more, and only 5 months to election day.

As Joe Biden says, BFD. 1200 guys on the border? Bush did the same thing, sent a couple guys down there, pretended to build a wall, pretended to put in a virtual wall, whatever that was.
It's all a lie. If Bush or Obama had done something constructive for border security, that rancher in AZ would still be alive.

I'd bet not a one of them will be issued loaded magazines for their rifles or pistols, if they have them at all. Perhaps the officers will be issued unloaded pistols as well.
It's a photo-op. God, this makes me mad.

Uh, Ace, aren't you forgetting something? Huh? Think real hard ... yep. You forgot to put in step 3: "Then read the Arizona law."
Oh wait, you're right. It isn't necessary. Holder's a friggin' genius and doesn't need to read it. Obama's a friggin' genius, too. So is Emanuel. And Axelrod. And Napalitano. And Gibbs.
No, wait, Gibbs is a friggin' idiot. The rest are friggin' geniuses except they aren't.

Im Profiling here now, but bear with me, please.
Dont some of the Radical Muslims resemble the Mexicans?
Could Radical Muslims imposter real Mexicans trying to gain legal status in America today? I do not see this question even being asked.
911 should have raised a lot more eyebrows in retrospect.
sadly, it has not. that I have seen anyway.

2. Several states immediately sue to stop that law.
3. State passes law to protect its own citizens since the Fed's ignore their Constitutional obligation to do so.
4. Several states begin process to copy that success.
5. Federal Gov't begins process to sue state.
6. Federal Gov't deploys troops "to the border" for the purpose of "securing the citizens"
I'm wondering if this is how things felt in the late 1850's. The conflict is clear. The resolution less so.

I doubt it can succeed, but that's probably not the point. The Democrats need black turnout, and the only way they can get blacks riled up is with a good racism scam. Naturally, most blacks don't give a rat's patootie about Mexicans' racial problems, but if Holder can make Republicans look scary enough, it might be enough to save a seat or two in the House.

Don't forget Clinton's miserable deployment of troops to the border in New Mexico and the fatal shooting of the shepherd boy.
It isn't as if local law enforcement is a matter of doing "when appropriate" as determined by federal Washingtonians, according to the weather.

Cheeze Johnson normally would NOT be OK with this. You know - normally this sort of thing would be raaaaacist!
Ah! Since Obama proclaims this commandment, Cheeze puffytown Johnson sez it's all good.
That's what I call honest blogging.

Madeleine Halfbright redux. This'll be Meals On Wheels For Wetbacks, combined with Beaner Catch and Release.
Ya want the border secure? Put a bounty on 'em. $20 bucks a head should do it. That'd pay for the ammo, beer, and ice.

Sooooooo. NG troops are going to be federalized and stationed on the border. So fucking what? With the cooperation of the Arizona's Gov they can't conduct LE operations so they can't arrest anyone. And since the Gov of Arizona was the last one to know, it's pretty obvious this is all bullshit.
Posse Comitatus anyone?
