Obama Quotes Declaration of Independence, Omits "Creator"
— Ace

Ironically enough, he claims that what makes America America is our "belief in shared values." And then goes on to delete one of those shared values.

At 22:00:

Meanwhile, President Metrosexual Space Alien has a hot new plan to win Novemeber: attempting to demonize a new opponent that the public will finally decide is a worthy enough demon to be afraid of. At the link, a quote from the NYT about Obama's plan to win by attacking the Tea Party, but here's this Daily Mail Telegraph columnist's opinion:

If the Obama team believes it will make political capital out of slandering the views of the Tea Party it is hugely misreading the general mood of the country. The grassroots organisation’s stunning success is symbolic of a deep-seated rejection across the United States of a “transformational” president who is making America poorer, weaker, more indebted and significantly less free.

The White HouseÂ’s planned assault is yet another example of an elitist presidency that is spectacularly out of touch with the American electorate, and increasingly digging its own political grave.

attempting to demonize a new opponent that the public will finally decide is a worthy enough demon

The problem with that strategy is that it implies "these people here are not worth voting for because they are worse than me." That always forces the voters to think about just how bad he is and whether anything or anyone could actually be worse. And they seem to be answering that with a resounding NO.

The downside to all this, of course, is that he's wrecking the country.

My big fear is that he'll wise up and change his ways just enough to win back a large portion of the support he's lost--but continue wrecking the country.

Wow, what an epically bad idea. If you want to demonize a Gingrinch or Palin or Boehnner or whomever, it's cheap and stupid and demonstrative of a lack of a real governing philosophy, but at least you're demonizing politicians. People who agreed to put their name on a ballot and knew it was potentially part of the bargain.

It's like Obama decididing to lower himself and the office by attacking Limbaugh or Beck by name, but only exponentially so. Normal moms and pops who disagree on policy? That nice older couple two houses down on the left?

Disgraceful. Maybe unprecedented. Only the hardcore left will go for it. Highly off-putting to most.

RAY: Chief Daniels, my esteemed colleagues, it is with great pride that I accept and thank you for this award. At a time like this, I feel that there is only one thing that I can say: Why huevos rancheros? And why margaritas? Why do you assume that all Hispanic people like that kind of food? I don't like that kind of food. I'm not Mexican. I'm not even Puerto Rican. You go to all this trouble to give this banquet in my honor, and no one even bothers to find out that I'm COLOMBIAN, not Mexican or Puerto Rican. And furthermore, phrases like "credit to his people" and "fine Puerto Rican-American" tend to stick in the throat of a man who has been a citizen of this country for twenty-two years. And why is it that when you are all here today to honor me as Hispanic Officer of the Year, I look around a room full of ranking officers and the only other Hispanics I see are waiters and busboys? As far as I am concerned, you can keep your award!

What's the story?

They are based in Columbia, PA. That's in western Lancaster County. Red, red, red. I bet even his minimum wage employees are livid with him. Plus, his business cannot be doing well. They're a rare American business in their field, most of what they do is done (much more cheaply) overseas.

Faith in social values um ahh which are inalienable rights um ah.

Obama is the first president to supplant the Declaration of Independence from its imperative setting forth God as the benefactor of inalienable rights of freedom and liberty. To elevating a 'faith' in social values of which he leads.

Back in the 80s, when Gary Larson published this cartoon, a bunch of humorless libtards at the Jane Goodall Institute got all butt-hurt offended, and had their lawyers draft a C & D letter to get the cartoon pulled.

Except that no one had bothered to ask Jane Goodall herself about the cartoon. She thought it was hilarious. Oops.

Now the Institute sells a T-Shirt with the same cartoon.

I really, really wonder if the GRU (Soviet military intelligence) didn't turn him when he was a young officer in Adm. Rickover's nuclear Navy. He certainly would have fit the profile of the ideal sleeper, and they could have gotten to him by making him believe that Communist egalitarianism was compatible with Christian charity -- he's stupid enough to have believed that -- as well as by developing in him a sense of guilt for his racist views.

Posted by: stuiec at September 20, 2010 03:32 PM (7AOgy)

The GRU never turned stupid people. So no.

Seriously, the GRU was not interested in politics. That's the KGB. They are military intelligence and technology. They liked going for small military contractors and getting plans and samples. They disliked ideologues. They liked guys who wanted money.

He also left out the part,

“Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. ”

By missing the first part he may well bring about the second part.
