Obama to Mexican President: "We Are Not Defined By Our Borders..."
— Ace

"...but by our bonds."

Okay, that's... cute and sweet, but aren't we sort of defined by our borders, too?

This does sound an awful lot like a suggestion that there really isn't a Mexico and really isn't an United States at all, that the border is simply an arbitrary contrivance.

Certainly it's fair to get that vibe from El Jefe Obama.

In related news, Obama's meeting with students, and he wants to see their birth certificates.

Okay, I lied. He (or his security team, really) isn't asking for birth certificates. But instead names, birthdates, social security numbers, and "citizen status."

Now, sure, this is normal and necessary. But even someone who doesn't buy into the birth certificate conspiracy theory can see a little bit of irony here.

I mean, he's checking the kids' "citizen status," presumably, to make sure no foreign-born radical can get into a position where he could gravely harm the presidency.

Come on. That's funny.

Also funny, they won't let the chef for the state dinner tweet anything and the press can only see the set-up for a couple of minutes.

OK, not really funny. And, yes we are defined by our borders. If we weren't we'd be just one big country instead of two distinct ones.

7 >> "citizen status," presumably, to make sure no foreign-born radical can harm the presidency.

That's one way to look at it, but this being BHO, one must reckon that this is about assuring that non-citizens will be more equal in access to the opportunity in basking in the glorious glow of the skittle-ejecting Unicorn.

There is no such thing as radicalism among "foreigners" per Alan Colmes.

15 The Constitution is only operational within our borders.  Period.  And the Constitution is meant to "secure the Blessings of liberty to ourselves and our Posterity."

But, it's no surprise that The Precedent doesn't care about America or the domain over which our Constitution applies, and to whom.  He is a third worlder who hates this nation and is doing everything he can to destroy it, just as the voters on Nov 4th, 2008, wanted.

BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if the word "sovereignty" were outlawed by the Executive branch.  They must consider it hate speech.

56 I wonder why Mexico doesn't take this to heart and open its southern borders like it opens its northern border? Maybe Mexico has some type of problem with undocumented aliens/workers from the south? Maybe Mexico feels that there is something substantial to the borders it wants to enforce, but not with the borders it wants to be a floodgate and an escape valve for the decrepit socialist mexican economy.

For the first time in my adult life....I need a passport to visit the US.  I used to visit weekly (and sneak back some low-tax Scotch) with only a birth certificate for ID.  Since 9/11, America has understandably beefed up border security in the north, and requires a passport.  Good thing criminals and jihadis won't think of crossing your southern border.

Yes, we are definitely defined by our borders, president Dumbshit.  Mexico has a set of borders THAT IT ACTIVELY POLICES and we don't.  Mexico doesn't have an illegal immigration problem because they enforce their law, and they cause our immigration problem by browbeating us with charges of racism when we try to enforce ours.  posted by Sharkman  @ 53

Not only that, but ask anyone from Central America that has survived crossing the border into Mexico about how they are treated by the Mexicans?  They are routinely robbed, extorted, women/girls raped by Army and police, given jobs on ranches at slave labor wages and conditions, etc. etc.  Calderone has his f'ing nerve - pendejo.  I agree with many posters here that just when I think that I can not hate Senor Toonces any more - he goes and says something even worse.  I saw this bumper sticker on the way to work and think that I'll have to get one:  " I was Anti-Obama before it was Cool to be Anti-Obama".  Yep.

We're dealing with an American president whose economic and foreign policy ideas were probably formed back in his pot-smoking days when he was hanging out with Marxist professors and listening to John Lennon sing "Imagine":

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

How do you say "unicorn prick is for sucking" in Spanglish?

La vierga del unicorn es por la mamada?

This is what you get when you have a college professor in the White House.

Buraq is no more a college professor than he is a major league pitcher. He did the academic equivalent of throwing the first pitch on Opening Day. Giving the odd lecture here and there does not a professor make.

Borders? We don't need no stinkin' borders! Vaminos, pendejos!

206 "This does sound an awful lot like a suggestion that there really isn't a Mexico and really isn't an United States at all, that the border is simply an arbitrary contrivance."
====

Mr. Obama hangs around with, and has surrounded himself with, a group of people who believe "global governance" is a good thing.  He and his cronies deem themselves "citizens of the world" who are noble-minded enough to value ALL cultures and ALL points of view.  This is why he and his minions deny American exceptionalism, and apologize for America's supposed "misdeeds" and
"arrogance" wherever they go.

It's been said before: "Barack Hussein Obama - the first post-American President".

53rd state, after puetro Rico and Guam, I'd guess--just have the guts to say they want to annex them for the votes and permanent power they would accrue....from dead white guys, of course.

not a whole lot of difference between this shit stain and your average, run of the mill muslim.....any lie...George Costanza, etc...

Crap, crap what's the name of that one North American country thing that people were talking about when Bush was president?  The North American something something.  You see how I pay attention to these things.

You may be thinking of the NAU (North American Union)?  I believe the alternative name was the SPP (Security and Prosperity Partnership of America).

@200: "listening to John Lennon sing 'Imagine'"

Does Mark David Chapman have a tip jar, or does he prefer heartfelt "Thank You" notes?

Sadly, he missed Yoko, but no one's perfect.

Huevos: "The word means "eggs," but the reference to "balls" is so strong that you have to watch out using the word at all. Polite girls would probably order blanquillos (little white things) from a male waiter."

The funny thing is that Obambino doesn't understand Spanish, and even if he did, he wouldn't get the interpretor's heavily innuendo-laden snark, loosely meaning, "You fucking tard, we're USING you! We no longer clean toilets because your generous welfare benefits keep our people filled huevos rancheros with a huge side of BEANS!"

My shit is now running loose and free like the Rio Grande filled with habanero salsa!
