This isn't just about the US being hit (though it is mostly that with respect to the savages in the arab/persian/muslim world - funny how that works!) but the world unraveling.  Russia has other interests that it is being given the green light on, more every day.

The current Afghan administration has his number I think, they know that Obama will put up a couple of big show "offensives" so he can take credit for a "troop surge" strategy and make himself look all Presidential, then he'll claim victory and order a pull out.
