Obama's DOJ drops six year investigation into Tom DeLay.
— Purple Avenger

Six years is a pretty lengthy rectal exam, and they couldn't even find a fracking polyp they could have snipped so they could "declare victory" and whack him with some fine?

That's some pretty weak shit. Moonbat heads must be exploding everywhere.

If Delay manages to skate on the TX state charges as well, it'll be a clean sweep, and he could rightfully claim to be a victim of political persecution.

I thought that all reasonable already understood that the attacks on DeLay were nothing but political - and criminal abuses of power, at that?

On the other hand, we the people don't need any more unprincipled hacks fucking things up for us.

DeLay was a wildly spending hack, gobbling pork and spouting "principles" only at election time. We're better off without him.

Even so, he didn't deserve this. Voters in TX should have booted him out on his squishy ass long ago.

The Lefties are actually TERRIFIED of the coming storm this November - look at all the shit happening around Democrats - they are imploding left and right.

It's just one thing after another.

I think they know that the shit storm is coming and are trying to reduce their nasty profile any way they can.

The lefties are blinking faster than Pelosi's dead, robot eyes.

Exactly!!! I remember how chickenshit conservatives ran away from him when there was absolutely no evidence of any wrongdoing of any sort on his part...jus wild and baseless accusations

The left was allowed to destroy him..because the cowards would not stand up

As Mr. Pink said they had already achieved their goal of getting rid of him politically..

...so this is absolutely meaningless to the left. They knew he wasn't guilty...as did anyone else who actually looked into it.

22 look at all the shit happening around Democrats - they are imploding left and right.

Many here in South FL aren't mentioning their party affiliation on their campaign signs anymore, and this has been a dem stronghold for decades.

23 DeLay should never have resigned congress.  This is just another example of weak-kneed repubs. trying to "get along".

Posted by: Soona at August 16, 2010 12:35 PM (w9U0b)

24 In Rhode Island, which is the most heavily-unionized state in the nation, all the Democrats have their party affiliation proudly displayed on campaign signs.  RI is nothing like the rest of the nation in this regard.

The central charge was about moving campaign monies around illegally..Delay had always been ope an transparent with his records.

I have a friend who collects political memorabilia thinking some day they will be worth something.   We checked, if they put it in the last election, they are conveniently leaving it out this year, at least in NY and particularly in the assembly.

32 Ronnie Earle should be drawn and quartered.  He was easily one of the most abusive prosecutors in state history.  I'm glad he lost his bid to become Lt. Gov., but that's nowhere near enough for me.  I hope that little cocksucker is indicted again and again until he fucking dies.

33 @24,

But for some strange reason, RI keeps electing Republicans to the governorship, who then get indicted for corruption.
Do you live there? I grew up there, but now live in Staten Island, which is remarkably similar to RI in almost every way.

50 i smell a back room deal being cut..... the DN's have such a long list of turds at the shit farm ready for harvest (or plowing back into the field for fertilizer), that they are scrambling for cover and back scratching.... i'm not saying Delay is good, bad or ugly..... however the timing is always interesting. many here still walk the Republican vs. Democrat line.... that era is past.... Soros, the jug eared jester and their backers have radically changed the field... we are the peons, the masses, the fuel, the engine for the generation of their wealth and power for the next millennium. They won't stop till it's sealed with our blood and our progeny's servitude. change is coming..... and i hope it's not "at the barrel of a gun".... do not underestimate the visceral drive that the "ruling class" has for our submission. this bunch ( both D and R), will gladly sacrifice one of their numbers to achieve the goal of permanent domination. there is only one path out of here. and it is not just a Vote in 2010.

The slimy tactics that the Democrats used to get Tom Delay out of office were the same slimy tactics that the Democrats used to grt J.D. Hayworth out of office.

As Karl Rove put it, the Democrats conducted witch hunts, couldn't come up with any damning evidence against Delay or Hayworth, and so they concluded that since they couldn't find evidence of any wrongdoing, that meant that Delay and Hayworth had to be guilty of something....., a screwy logic which successsfully duped the incredibly stupid constituents of Delay and Hayworth and got them into trouble for crimes which they hadn't even committed.

Don't blame the slimy Democrats who orchestrated that slimy scheme. Blame Delay's and Hayworth's irresponsible and slimy constituents in Texas and Arizona who were stupid enough to be duped by those slimy schemes. Delay and Hayworth worked their asses off to do what was best for their constituents, only to have been betrayed and sold out by their sleazy and stupid constituents.

58 I never thought DeLay done anything wrong to began with.  The media made a big splash about "charges" brought against him but never got into detail about the "charges".  So I thought the whole time it was all bullshit and could not understand why the Repulicans rolled over.  Was I missing something?  Turns out - no I wasn't.  It was all just as I thought, bullshit.  The dims had to get rid of DeLay because he was very effective at his job.
