ObamaÂ’s Oil Speech Leads To A Gusher Of Liberal Criticism
— DrewM

If youÂ’re Barack Obama and youÂ’ve lost the Three Stooges of MSNBC, Olbermann, Mattthews and Fineman, (like to self starting video) Eugene Robinson and Maureen Dowd you might not think that the oil spill is the biggest problem youÂ’ve got.

I doubt the spill and the disastrous speech it spawned will be the permanent end of the great political-media love affair of our time but things will never be the same again.

The liberal chattering class invested so much hope in the unknown Senator with the dreamy pecs, that they were blind to all his faults. Now those faults are all too clear…he’s clueless. The detached Spock like monk they loved so much doesn’t turn into the raging Spock suffering from the Pon Farr on command. “Where’s the passion, the righteous anger?”, they ask. Alas, it’s not to be found. Worse still, where’s the competence? Wasn’t this Dream Team of Rivals supposed to be everything that the cowboys from Texas and Wyoming weren’t? And yet when faced with the first great crisis of his presidency, Obama has MIA on substance and rhetoric.

“How can this be?”, they wonder.

Naturally, the liberal chattering classes will never admit they were wrong. They will never admit that they, the hard-boiled, cynical self-appointed protectors of the Republic were sold a bill of goods by a snake oil salesman.

No dear Barack, the fault will not lay in them but you.

You see the pundit class stays and is this permanent protector of the liberal flame. Presidents come and go. Some make a mark, some not so much, but pundits, like bureaucrats are forever. Some one will have to pay the price for the sagging fortunes of the liberal dream and the likes of Matthews, Dowd and Robinson will be damned if itÂ’s going to be them.

Obama always talked about wanting to bridge the partisan divide and nowÂ’s his chance. HeÂ’s going to get a taste of what itÂ’s like to be the object of the herds scorn, in other words, a Republican. In some ways he wonÂ’t get treated that badly, he is one of them after all but in other ways it will actually be worse because there is one hell worse than a woman scornedÂ…a pundit class attempting to defect blame and avoid responsibility for being duped by a mere politician (even one of their own creation).

ItÂ’s almost enough for me to feel bad for ObamaÂ….but not quite enough. So yes, yes I will have another serving of schadenfreude.

But this is exactly why the Left is starting to despise him so overtly.  The Left invested in Obama their dream of a Messianic and technocratic President who would be so charismatic and competent that he would easily dismantle the American capitalist system and replace it with Socialism that Works.  His abject failure -- his manifest incompetence -- has forced on them the realization that not only will he fail to implement their Socialist dream, but he will reinforce all the bad things Americans tend to think about Socialism, pushing their dream further out of reach.

An interesting parallel: at Israel's founding, the Left rejoiced because the new country was going to leverage the ingenuity of the Jewish people to create Socialism that Works.  However, by the 1970s, Israel decided to abandon a true Socialist model and embrace free-market reforms... and in that instance, Israel's success with that transition undercut the Left's arguments for Socialism, pushing their dream further out of reach.  And since then, the Left has made Israel Public Enemy Number Two, the Little Satan behind the Great Satan that is the United States.

Have I ever seen Sarah Palin refer to Trig as the “retarded one”?

No I have not personally heard her use that term, but I do remember my brother twice coming home and telling me about it.

So we now have independent confirmation that Palin, after making a huge song and dance about the use of the word “retarded” by Rahm Emanuel to describe – metaphorically – some Democrats, referred to her own Down Syndrome son – literally – as “retarded” in front of him at home. And yet no one in the MSM challenged her on this point when she launched into one of her Emanuel nonsense, as if her word is somehow automatically more reliable than Levi’s – because, er, she’s powerful. No one, in fact, has even asked her to rebut Levi’s and Mercede’s assertion.

Deference, again. Deference, always. And to give an insight into who really does have power in this situation:

Do I feel safe living in Wasilla?

No. I do not feel that my property is safe, nor do I feel my family is safe.

Amazing how many people say that in private about living under the shadow of Todd Palin. And one reason I remain happy that Joe McGinniss accepted the offer to live next door: itÂ’s an open declaration that he is not afraid. Bursting that bubble of fear and intimidation is critical to getting at the truth.

Oh wait, there is this quote tooÂ…

Can I say for a fact that Levi is not the father of Trig?

YES! Levi is NOT the father of Trig. He is the proud father of Tripp Easton his one and ONLY child.

Clearly the maniacal Todd Palin is torturing Levi and his family to keep them spouting these lies! Lies! LIES!

Anybody could have looked at those photos and known that Obama was all hat, no cattle.  Everything he ever touched turned to crap once he was done with it.  What a wonderful future we have in store for us.  Obama is the anti-Reagan, whereas with Reagan it was morning in America, with Obama it's midnight in hell.

The Lame-stream Media doesn't posses the self-awarness to admit they backed an incompetent, who they were too infatuated with to properly vet in 2008.

We've alreay seen them try to cover for Barry with the "the country is ungovernable" narrative a few months ago, and it will resurface again as an excuse for his failures.

Worse, look for black-white race relations in this country to sour as the only voting block that stays with Barry will be African-Americans, and the media stokes the conflict by portraying Obama's failures as the fault of his white advisors and supporting cast: Emanuel, Axelrod, Podesta, Biden, Pelosi, Reid et al.

After all it can't be Barry's fault. It has to be those mean white people who undercut him and sabotaged his efforts, right?

Barry is so dim, he still doesn't realize that the clock has run out on blaming Bush for all his problems. Even the media doesn't buy that load anymore despite his efforts last night to blame the Bush for the incompetent, corrupt MMS led by Barry's own appointee and overseen by Barry's Sec of the Interior, the buffoonish Ken Salazar.

It would be fun and well worth relishing the frantic failings of this presidency, except that in it's death throes, Barry's administration & minions will do even more serious damage to our economy and further change the historic relationship between US gov't and the American citizens.

156 Hate to spoil all the optimistic predictions that this may be the beginning of the end for Barky, but you may want to at least consider this:

Let's assume it'll take six more weeks before one of the relief wells hits the target and stops the flow.  During that time Rahm and Axelrod will use the still vast power of the WH "bully pulpit" to say the following:
1. It wasn't Obie's fault that the well blew out.
2. Some low-level bureaucrat hired under Bush okayed the *permit* for the well, which included use of the standard blowout preventer in a mile of water.
3.  Doctor X wrote three years ago that using these BOPs in deep water posed a huge threat, because no one knew if they would work at depth (or something equally tech-speak to confuse the Dem/lib morons);
4.  Ergo...it really IS right to blame Bush for this.
5.  I, Barky, singlehandedly persuaded the eeevil, giant oil corp to pony up $20 BILLION to make things right.  No courts, no delays of years while lawyers wrangled and victims died penniless.  This is a wonderful thing that no one before me has ever had the balls to do.
6.  Every American must now decide whether we continue to use eeeevil, toxic, gooey, environmentally catastrophic oil (slides of oil-soaked birds) OR forsake the stuff once and for all.  So I propose to give an X-thousand-dollar check to everyone who buys a new GM Electric car, made right here in the USA.  If half of you buy one and turn your gas-powered cars in for scrap, we'll cut our oil consumption by 3000 percent, and life will be great again.
7.  Anyone who doesn't is an environmental hater and a racist.

Remember, most Americans like a strong leader.  The MFM would be having orgasms from now til 2012.

The Chicago crowd may not know how to do much, but they campaign *very* well.  I wouldn't count 'em out just yet.
