He's quoting Lincoln? They don't have the votes. And that's even more plausible since it's not unusual for a narcissist to stick their neck out too far. In the end, they almost always overplay their hand and lose everything.
Blah blah blah blah.

OK - I'm quoting Ann Althouse (from her own comment section) because I have the same read on it.
If the house votes to pass the senate bill tomorrow - that is it. It's over. It will go to the president. All the posturing about amendments are deception.
Ann says:
But the Senate bill will have been passed, and it will go to the President for signature. That may be all they ever do pass, in which case the amendments are not worth a damn. The problem raised in the post is really just another way of saying that the House needs to face up to the reality that it will be passing the Senate bill, unamended, and that will be signed by the President.

Can't think of any snarky comments, either. There is nothing to joke or snark about while Osama Obama is getting so close to his dream of destroying America.
The hate-filled tyrant belongs in jail, not in a position of power.
Lenin, Stalin, Mao and Mussolini -- not to mention the guy who really put the world's ass in a sling back in the 1930s, you know, the one who the lefty trash compared Bush to, but it is now considered a federal crime to put his name in the same post with the Chicago Jesus -- are a bunch of proud mofos today. And maybe a little jealous, because the Traitor-in-Chief is managing to do what they did without bloodshed. Yet.

As part of today's rally to stop the Democrats' health care reform legislation thousands of protesters descended on the lawn of Capitol building. But many more were also using the occasion to visit the their congressional representative and tell them what they think of the bill.
However, Capitol Police recently stopped allowing any of the peaceful protesters to enter into congressional buildings. Crowds are now gathering in front of the House and Senate offices, demanding that they be let in to air their constituent concerns.

Obama WAS in a Peter Lorre film: Casablanca. In the scene where Rick takes Ilsa through the casbah, Obama is the Arab merchant.
CUT TO:EXT. BLACK MARKET - DAY
At the linen stall, Ilsa examines a tablecloth which an Arab
vendor is endeavoring to sell. He holds a sign which reads
"700 francs."
ARAB
You will not find a treasure like
this in all Morocco, Mademoiselle.
Only seven hundred francs.
Rick walks up behind Ilsa.
RICK
You're being cheated.
She looks briefly at Rick, then turns away. Her manner is
politely formal.
ILSA
It doesn't matter, thank you.
ARAB
Ah, the lady is a friend of Rick's?
For friends of Rick we have a small
discount. Did I say seven hundred
francs? You can have it for two
hundred.
Reaching under the counter, he takes out a sign reading "200
francs", and replaces the other sign with it.
RICK
I'm sorry I was in no condition to
receive you when you called on me
last night.
ILSA
It doesn't matter.
ARAB
Ah, for special friends of Rick's we
have a special discount. One hundred
francs.
He replaces the second sign with a third which reads "100
francs."
RICK
Your story had me a little confused.
Or maybe it was the bourbon.
ARAB
I have some tablecloths, some napkins --
ILSA
-- Thank you. I'm really not
interested.
ARAB
Please, one minute. Wait!
The Arab hurriedly exits.
Ilsa pretends to examine the goods on the counter.

But keep telling yourselves that it's great to have control of the House (Senate won't switch) when this crap legislation kicks in and taxes go up, mandates are enacted, etc.

IN any event, by all accounts, Pelosi is now trying to pass the bill without the pro-life Democratic vote — or at least without Stupak. As of now, it doesn’t appear that she has the votes. I currently count 208 leaning in favor of Obamacare and 214 leaning against, with 9 undecided. Here they are — with the margin by which the presidential vote was won (by one party or the other) in their districts over the last three elections:
• Marion Berry (D., Ark.) (GOP +
— pro-Stupak Amendment
• Henry Cuellar (D., Tex.) (Dem +1) — pro-Stupak Amendment
• Bill Foster (D., Ill.) (GOP +4)
• Jim Matheson (D., Utah) (GOP +30) — with nearly two-thirds of his constituents having supported GOP presidential candidates over the last three elections, a “yes” vote on Stupak, and an earlier “no” vote on Obamacare, a “yes” vote would mean that, for the rest of his days, he would be remembered as the guy who sold his vote for the price of Obama’s having just nominated his brother to a federal judgeship
• Michael Michaud (D., Me.) (Dem +7) — pro-Stupak Amendment
• Solomon Ortiz (D., Tex.) (GOP +1) — pro-Stupak Amendment
• Earl Pomeroy (D., N.D.) (GOP +21) — pro-Stupak Amendment — yes, that’s GOP +21
• Nick Rahall (D., W.V.) (GOP +6) — pro-Stupak Amendment
• Zach Space (D., Ohio) (GOP +12) — pro-Stupak Amendment
Also, here is a partial list of some particularly key members who are leaning “no”:
• Christopher Carney (D., Pa.) (GOP +15) — pro-Stupak Amendment
• Dan Lipinski (D., Ill.) (Dem +22) — pro-Stupak Amendment
• Kathleen Dahlkemper (D., Pa.) (GOP +3) — pro-Stupak Amendment
• Glenn Nye (D., Va.) (GOP +9) — “no” last timePosted by: Tami at March 20, 2010 12:38 PM (VuLos)

How can they vote on the "FIX" bill first and then the senate bill? They cant amend something that is not law already.
They really can't. It's all smoke and mirrors to fool and tick, tick and fool.
If they vote on the Senate Bill (as is! - the only way they can vote on it - corn husker kickback and all, etc...) then it's over. All the talk of amendments is for not.
Obama stuck around to sign it. "law of the land" and all that crap.

Much as I've been eeyoring about this for months because I don't trust Democrats to do the right thing.... yes... yes it has a very IOC speech ring to it. Eerily similar. The only thing that was missing today was Hatesy McArmserson. Remember when they were going to make her the "face" of healthcare? That fizzled fast.

I still believe this is what will happen. I don't think they have the votes to pass this thing straight up and they don't trust the Senate, so they're going to vote on the amendments and punt it back to the Senate to take the heat on reconciliation.

I'm pretty sure for Obama's core constituency, it will be free. The medical care they and their kids are getting right now is already free--either through Medicaid or state-level programs, or charity...or ERs just writing it off because they know they'll never see a dime.
Now, if this bill cut off Medicaid and let states quit the S-CHIP type programs....they might notice that. Might.

They only need the House. If they pick up five or six in the Senate, then you put Democrats from red states up for reelection in 2012 on the spot with every single vote. Every vote against a repeal amendment is a vote for this Obamacare; the end result is a two-year voting record for this hated law.
Then you hammer them with it in 2012.

And now for the facts: Obama jus' lo.o.o.ves them free markets. So when the Democraps passed the so-called "Community Reinvestment Act", which *forced* banks to extend 100% mortgage loans to people who *absolutely and unequivocally did not previously qualify for them*, naturally Barrrackkkk was right there on the front lines, objecting to this gubment interference with the free market.
She-right! Barrrackkk was all for this crap, free market be damned, because it brought lotsa votes to his party.
Barrrackkk sayeth: I believe we need a strong and vibrant financial sector so that businesses can get loans [and] families can afford mortgages;
But truth is, Barrrackkk's idea of a "strong and vibrant financial sector" is one in which the gubment owns General Motors and arrogates the power confiscate Chrysler dealerships from Republicans while letting Democrat contributors keep *their* dealerships. He wants the power to name the CEO of GM. He wants his party--the Democrat party--to own AIG, despite the fact that he and they know nothing about running an insurance company.
Barrrackkk--like all leftists/Dems--wants to control everything, yet pass all the costs of the inevitable failure on to the public/taxpayers.
And then the slick bastard has the balls to blame *the free market* for his own failures and overreaching.
That's taking "brazen" to a whole new level.
