Obama's White House: Leadership Through Better Marketing
— Dave in Texas

From the sidebar, I'll do it old school..

Out: "Global Warming"

In: "Global Climate Disruption"

Because "climate change" wasn't really taking hold. And also, that whole warming thing kinda wasn't happening much either. "The Total Destruction of the Earth, Mankind and Everything There Is On Account of Our Awful Global Awfulness" was under consideration, but probably too wordy.

Sometimes I feel like this administration is overloaded with marketing consultants. The power to shape public awareness and opinion depends on us finding a really compelling expression and another campaign speaking tour to test market our new word thingy.

From the administration that brought you "man-caused disaster" and "overseas contingency operation," another terminology change is in the pipeline.

The White House wants the public to start using the term "global climate disruption" in place of "global warming" -- fearing the latter term oversimplifies the problem and makes it sound less dangerous than it really is.

Hey, speaking of which, you know how a consultant makes love? He sits on the edge of the bed and tells you how f'n awesome it's gonna be.

A precisely-worded, more meaningful expression is just the thing to make the rubes forget all about those conspiratorial emails, made up junk data sets, models that don't work, and your ability to smell bullshit when it's being rubbed in your nostrils.

Did I say "bullshit?" Sorry, I meant "Bovine Planetary Death."

Can't wait to say "I told you so" to all the moonbats at work tomorrow.  For some time now I have been correcting them when they talk about global warming.  I tell them they've got the language all wrong and to pay attention.  Their side had already tried to change their tune by calling it global climate change so they would be right either way.

They told me I was a cynic. (and an idiot for not believing the the planet had a fever).

Similarly, when the public soured on the "stimulus", Dems in congress were instructed to stop using the word "stimulus" and instead call it the Recovery Act in the belief that the public wouldn't know they were the same thing.

106 Holy moly, that stuff on #106 is incredible.  I'm not sure I believe it's true, but it all fits what we've observed from Obama to a T.  Quoting a bit...

I mean, we were all led to believe that this guy was some kind of intellectual giant, right? Ivy League and all that. Well, that is not what I saw. Barack Obama doesnÂ’t have a whole lot of intellectual curiosity. When he is off script, he is what I call a real “slow talker”. Lots of ummms, and lots of time in between answers where you can almost see the little wheel in his head turning very slowly.

116 I think those comments were from Orszag.   He recently left,  he obviously has disagreed on policy,  he's had to work hard crunching those numbers and would be PO'd about someone who does no heavy lifting,  and he has got to think of his own future.

117 could be political plant of some kind

I doubt it.  Knowing what we know about Obama, it had the ring of truth about it.  Its possible the "insider" is constructed from a composite of many people relating stories though.

- Obama is a narcissist, this is well established by his public behavior, and shows very clearly in his handwriting samples.

- Obama also has no follow through or ability to do the political heavy lifting needed to move the ball forward.  All of his "signature accomplishments" were subcontracted out, and anything he took on personally has been a complete failure.  FWIW, this lack of follow through or ability to do the heavy lifting also shows clearly in his handwriting samples.

Bruno Hauptmann went to the electric chair basically on handwriting samples.  That and the fact that he possessed a small fraction of the Gold Notes that were paid in the Lindbergh kidnapping.

The fact that he was forced to write the kidnapping notes over and over and over and made to immitate the writing was irrelevant.

Nothing new here, move along now.

The very idea that handwriting could indicate things such as "criminal inclination" or "psychological" state is purely an INTERPRETIVE notion and has nothing to do with real science.  Interpretive subjectivity is why polygraph tests are not recognized as evidence in courts of law.
