Based on the huge margin on Prop C -- I wouldn't count any Republican out who's down 12 or fewer points in the polls before the election.

I want to see the algorithm that accounts for a 2:1 Republican turnout advantage. Granted I dont expect that ratio to hold in November, but I was encouraged by what I saw in my precinct in Kansas City yesterday.
I actually had to wait in line, for a mid term primary vote. First time 20 years I had to wait in an off year..... and there have been some Presidential elections where there was no line.

Blumenthal is a fraud and a dunce; McMahon should be crushing him.
What does Blumenthal offer the people of CT? The same old failed policies of the Democrats. McMahon should be cruising to victory. But she sucks as a candidate.

From the sidebar, on the drawdown of the military, something jumped out at me from Max Boot's column:
an army and a navy that commanded the respect of prospective enemies, foreign and domestic.
Then he cites the Whiskey Rebellion and the Civil War as examples. Um, I'd really rather not have much miliary at all if we're going to use the troops agaisnt ourselves at some point.
K? Thx.

If the USPS would stick to their original job, which is to deliver 1st class mail, then it would be a manageable organization. Not efficient, but at least with a clearly defined goal.
But they have been allowed to expand far beyond that and into parcel delivery, air products, passport photos (what the fuck?), packing materials, etc.
So UPS, FedEx and the rest now have to compete against a bloated bureaucracy that doesn't pay taxes and can use their monopoly profits from 1st class mail to prop up their money-losing segments.

And the race for wackiest state governance heats up Morons and Moronettes! Florida had been the early favorite, seemingly destined to retain its well earned title with the mystifying continued existence of Charlie Tuna. Then earlier this week we learned that the Dem Senatorial candidate in Illinois, who personifies crooked banking, was to be the lucky winner of an Obama fundraiser (lovingly placed between anti-banking speeches of course). Now California is making is play, with a cheap shot coming off the bench that has it all; action, drama (yes, I went there) conflict of interest and utter contempt for the republic and individual rights).
Will California take the lead? Will Illinois reach yet another new low? Will the New York entry of 'high taxes for everybody but my donor list' knock off one of the 'top' five?? Tune in next post! Which should be any second now, at the rate they're appearing.

As I said to Herr this morning, I think the Federal courts have already ruled on this once and there is no "right to marry". I believe this judge is reaching with this ruling but you never know how any court will come out in the end anymore.
I would go do some research on the cases but I have to go for a while because I am about to light off the grill for cooking this evening.

Who defines adults? Will that hold up as well as man + woman?
Who defines the number of adults involved?
When do I get my detailed inspection?

Bingo, also as I've told this story here before. I work for a CO. that is a vendor for what is probably the bigget USPS facility on the east coast let alone the entire country; located in Seacaucus/North Bergen, NJ. It has to be the biggest wharehouser of live human bodies I've ever seen. Literally thousands of people seemingly just milling around, talking, laughing, socializing etc. not working at all! This is not an antecdotal story, believe me when I tell you the USPS has to be the biggest AA gov't employer in the WORLD!!

Lacey come on out to San Diego. We'll set up a table at the waterfront and sell tie dyed shirts for a living.

Gay Marriage: 0-37 on elections, undefeated in the courts
Should probably tell you why elections really matter.

Moreso, it tells you why this nation is going to split. There is the same sort of attack by the federal government on the States and the citizenry concerning illegal aliens, health scare, guns, ...
Once State nullification starts, it will be amazing at how fast and deeply it spreads. This nation cannot remain united under a hostile and stupid federal government that thinks it has the power to rule all.

I wish Meg Whitman could lose and Brown not win. I think it might not make that much of a difference. Meg is more liberal than she pretends and Brown is more conservative than he acts. Usually.

We will end up with Governor Moonbeam yet. I'm confident.
Even if I 'm wrong, Whitman will likely be Governator II. Posted by: George Orwell
I know. I suspect it will be Moonbeam. Gawd we are so screwed.

The gay consortium really needs to settle for Civil Unions and drop this whole marriage is a right debacle. I respect the core of what they want, rights of survivorship, hospital visitation etc., just don't shove it down my throat ...so to speak.

I am sure there is a bunch of waste in the USPS and we should fix it but I still think it's a good deal that I can send a letter from Washington to Florida in 3 or 4 days for 44 cents or whatever it costs. My mail always gets to where I send it and I seem to never fail to get my bills in the mail so I can't bitch about it.

She has one of her teammates from the softball squad handle that for her. Wait, what?
Somehow, I think Kagan was inspired by Rosie O'Donnell in A League of Their Own.
