11 There's a second aspect of "teh stupid" in all of the Urban Heat Island studies. The very definition of "urban" and "rural" that they use is completely insane.

If you go to surfacestations.org, you can see a very long list of stations with pictures. But even the bulk of the "small village" stations are still way too close to what there is of the village. And yet they get market "Rural."

The themometers that are honestly in the freaking wilderness (at ranger stations, trailheads, etc.) are much flatter than most of the other "rural" stations. And by adding crap stations into the mix, you're diluting the real data so much you can't ever get anything out but pure crap.

As I understand it, their latest argument is that the "heat island effect" must be accounted for because it IS a warmer section of the country and must be worked into the averages.

The problems is how they work it into the averages.  In additon, they lose sight of the the purpose of the tracking of the temperatures in the first place.That purpose was to correlate increased temperatures to increases in CO2, not increases in concrete.

As more and more of these revelations come out I have come to the conclusion that NONE of the AGW studies have any scientific validy. They have ALL been adulterated to the point of fraud.

That, however, will not stop the politicians.

You can look into the sky at night and see how far you have to look to see the next heat source. The only three sources of heat we have are the sun, the core, and man-made. The reason man or anything lives on earth right now, is because the moon has been slowly stripping the atmospheric soup from the planet. This is known as a reducing atmosphere. Very rare as planets go. I think the atmosphere is just about right, and we should start thinking about doing something about that pesky moon, before the only thing we have to eat, are liberals.
