Oh No: Alvin Greene Indicted On Felony Obscenity Charge
— Ace

As Ben snarked: This could cost him the election.

Well, this could cost him the election, and all the lead paint chips he ate as a child, and a teenager, and an adult.

3 RACISM!!!  Oh, and they don't like me because I'm black.  That's not the same thing, right?  Oh look!  Something shiny!

4 Sounds qualified to become a new czar of something if you ask me.  If he cheated on his taxes, he's a lock.

5 Will the racism never stop?

6 The crazy thing about the whole Alvin Greene campaign? The Obama administration has plans to offer him a job to get him out of the race so I white guy can lose by 10 less points.

7 In his defense, it's not pornography if you love each other.

8 Sounds to me like a ploy to get another "real" Democrat candidate on the ballot ala bob Toricelli.

Fishy  .  .  .

10 If I were the prosecutor, I'd start buying up some Alvin Greene action figures to use as a demonstrative aid for the jury.

Posted by: Cicero at August 13, 2010 10:24 AM (QKKT0)

11 Yep, this is just a way to get the right Dem on the ballot this time without all those pesky primary voters butting in.

He talks and moves so slow that I have a hard time imagining him opening the nekkid pictures and uttering more than a couple of syllables before the victim ran out of the room or fell asleep from boredom.

There were quite a few Alvin Greenes in my college dorm computer lab. And also that one guy who kept wanting to show me pictures of his favorite WCW wrestlers.

16 Sacred honor compells me to note that South Carolina has regained the lead for wackiest politics this year. Admittedly, we haven't heard the last of the Blagojevich trial, so Illinois remains close behind.

Posted by: Will Folks at August 13, 2010 10:32 AM (R2fpr)

17 In honor of that last thread, here's an important update on South Carolina politics:

18 Having Alvin Greene in the Senate would have been a gift.  We could've had a weekly thread made up entirely of C-Span clips.

Posted by: Herr Morgenholz at August 13, 2010 10:35 AM (5aa4z)

I almost hate to bring this up, but the real "Will Folks" (if indeed that is his name), last week reported on yet ANOTHER allegation of a sexual affair involving Republican Gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley, this time with a third party.  He's also still pushing some nonsense about emails with Haley on his website (ie the ones that prove the "inappropriate" encounter he alleged, but seemingly can't find).

For obvious reasons, none of this is getting any traction locally.  Nobody believes Folks or wants to give him any more attention.

Posted by: looking closely at August 13, 2010 10:41 AM (PwGfd)

20 Well, I for one am shocked, SHOCKED, that they would prosecute a Democrat senatorial candidate mere months before the election.

Does he plan on dropping his campaign, b/c I gotta agree with Herr Morgenholz, he would be an ideal weekly thread topic, in the evil Spock world where he won the election and became a U.S. Senator.

Naah, that's what they call a resume enhancer in the Democrat Party.

I agree with this  Moron. Ace has given us another post-it note sized missive about race and its place on this blog. And now we here that the 'Man' is attempting to disenfranchise a candidate from running for office. Where do these people think they are? The South???

Never mind that.. We should initiate a campaign to prevent progress from being rolled back and preserve our precious comedy relief this important candidacy.

Honestly, all this dude needs is a tearful mea culpa on Oprah, and it's all good.  What, wait?  Oprah taped her final show before she rides out into the sunset already?  OK, he's screwed.

Rove to Cheney:  Am I working the ToneDeafinator-mindray pretty good while you are recuperating, or what?

Cheney:  Excellently.  Now let's practice shifting targets out West - to Nevada.

Rove: Already got Reid last week.

Cheney: Let's make sure we leave a few for Liz to practice with, now!  Where else have you been "freelancing"?

Rove: Let's just say "The rain in Spain has come back home again"!

Cheney:  You have learned well grasshopper.

I, for one, can't wait to see Nancy Grace spend every breath of energy she has on this topic for the next four months.

Does she have all of her grainy panning graphics of multiple Al Greene pictures put together yet?

Posted by: reason at August 13, 2010 11:14 AM (L51+P)

35 Hmmmm.

So let me get this straight.  In South Carolina showing a picture of someone naked to an *adult female* is a crime?

Cinemax is so fucked.

And....

Al Gore shows off his pecker and that's ok?

I don't want to live in a world like that.

Posted by: memomachine at August 13, 2010 11:29 AM (MwCol)

36 Comments above nailed it.   Greene will be convicted and in jail in plenty of time to put someone Dems think can win on the ballot.   Of  course, he brought it on himself, but then don't they all.

Perhaps I can borrow it for my next evil plot on the Tri-State area.

Do you ever get the feeling we all went to sleep one night and woke up to a world full of stupid pod people?

40 41  Oh, I've been thinking that for the last few years -- it started election night '00 (and not the way you think that means) and has built up into a rock solid, unshakeable conviction.
