— Open Blogger The Obama Administration may finally be moved to act decisively against Julian Assange: WikiLeaks is moving beyond the mere jeopardizing of American troops and allied foreign nationals, and is about to reveal to the world what Obama really thinks of them.
With some 2.7 million communications from the US State Department about to be published online, Mr Obama is bracing himself for revelations that would not only be embarrassing but could also seriously damage his foreign policy.Thousands of these documents are believed to be diplomatic cables from Washington to the US Embassy in London, including brutal assessments of Gordon Brown's personality and cold-eyed judgements of David Cameron's capabilities.
The ramifications for Mr Obama could be enormous. With his popularity flagging at home, one of his remaining political strengths has been his high standing abroad - assiduously cultivated in a series of speeches in which he apologised for past US actions and promised a kinder, gentler America.
This could really ruin Barack's reputation. Assange and all the other mean girls at WikLeaks can be soooo cruel.
(But as bad as it will be for American foreign policy to have these diplomatic messages on display to the world, it will be fascinating to see whether Obama is as obsequious in private to all the world leaders he's bowed to in public.)

Geez, one can only imagine the snide, snotty, back biting cables going back and forth from the inner city ghetto appointees.
Remember the look the first klingon was captured on film given to an actual beautiful and graceful first lady? Imagine what went on behind the scenes:
"Who do that white bitch think she is? I ax her a simple question and she turn her haid."
Its PARTY time! Maybe 2012 will come a little sooner than expected?

What/where is this 'popularity abroad' they keep talking about? I keep hearing about it but I'm not seeing it reflected. The foreign press is far more critical of him than ours. Other than the Chavez saying, 'come back, bra! let's fist-bump', I'm not seeing the adoring sentiment.

We already know what Sarkozy thinks of Teh Won. For example:
Sarkozy: “We live in the real world, not the virtual world. And the real world expects us to take decisions.
“President Obama dreams of a world without weapons … but right in front of us two countries are doing the exact opposite.
“Iran since 2005 has flouted five security council resolutions. North Korea has been defying council resolutions since 1993.
“I support the extended hand of the Americans, but what good has proposals for dialogue brought the international community? More uranium enrichment and declarations by the leaders of Iran to wipe a UN member state [Israel] off the map.”

I'm no defender of the manchild, but this cannot be allowed to occur. This could potentially damage centries old alliances between other powers.. not just us. I'm sure we've got 'secret' treaties between other countries on file which could be devestating to the peace of the world if they come out.
This could be an existential threat to many countries and all this liberal mental masturbation has to come to an end. Its time for the adults to take charge and put an end to this NOW. How is it even possible that we've allowed this spoiled child molester to release secrets just to get on frontline? No other country in the history of the world would allow this to happen... Its shameful, and its little Baracky's fault.

This instance would seem to me, to militate against the repeal of DADT policy.
If one soldier can be shown so fanatically devoted to the cause of a political identity group as to commit treason, I'm not sure that that particular identity group should be recognized, much less given preferential treatment in our armed forces.
And for those who say that our military is more egalitarian and meritocratic than the rest of our society, that's all well and good and may even be valid.
As a civilian, I can't help but notice the "special" pre-schools for Annapolis AA candidates and the most egregious case of Nidal Malik Hasan being constantly promoted (despite deep misgivings by supervisors and peers) until he got to walk into Ft. Hood one day and start shooting the joint up.
Political Correctness is just as powerful in the military (if not more so!) as it is in civilian life.

That's cause we've not meandered too far away from our Constitutional principles in the past. Now that we have an executive branch that isn't even constitutionally qualified and it has this raft of 'czars' that aren't constitutionally permitted (and paid for by what principle- House of Reps...you have the purse!) we find the system is quite precarious.

It includes the most glaring display of missing the obvious:
In an effort to avoid the appearance of profiling (even though every seasoned traveler will tell you to avoid the security line with the Muslims ahead of you), I've been subjected to full searches by agents who recognized me from television. Why me, I asked one of them, a Fox fan, as we discussed whether Sean Hannity was really a nice guy (he is). He pointed out the mark on my boarding pass, which had assigned me randomly for supplementary screening. I've seen elderly ladies singled out for searches because they were traveling on one-way tickets. A waste of time, to be sure, but if it makes the system "seem" fairer, fine with me.
A waste of time, a waste of resources, and therefore a loophole that can allow a terrorist to slip through while the TSA wastes its time on "fairness." It's astounding that Estrich glosses over this basic fact.

I think he's supposed to be popular with the general population of the world, since he hates America as much as they do. The world leaders of course recognize him as a joke incapable of doing anything properly. And the International media doesn't have anything really invested in his agenda since they aren't in the country and while he's a fellow traveler to most of them they have no need to prop him up since he doesn't forward their agenda in their countries like he does for the media here.

Those 3 golden hours make that station's nut every week.
For me, I tend not to listen to the "big" AM station in my town (which also carries Beck and Hannity) unless it's during Limbaugh hours.
I'm lucky though, in my market, I have another AM talker (mostly Salem) and more recently an FM which has really funny local rabble rousing in addition to some "2nd tier" shows which I find I like much more than the biggies.
(I tend to drive around a lot for my work.)
Examples include Jerry Doyle, Boortz and Levin (I rarely listen to him anymore now that he's on at 7:00 PM my time. I just so associate listening to radio with being at work that I just won't do it, once I get home.)

I remember the first Tea Party in my city which was heavily promo'd by the "new" FM talk station in my town. Morning "shock-talker", only person I'd ever heard analyze local city council politics on the air made a big splash early on and was very funny, to boot.
Later on that day, a "local institution", a very familiar radio voice took to the stage and blinked at the crowd in confusion. He mumbled something or other about 20+ years of covering politics, urged moderation above all else and said that this might possibly be a good idea if no one goes too far and then BOOMED out the call letters of the station and introduced a tape recording of Rush Limbaugh's CPAC speech.
At that moment I was hit by an almost electric bolt of pathos, when I realized:
Dude. The only reason you have a show in this town, is because you are the lead in to Limbaugh.
That's sad.
He was eventually replaced.
Financed his own broadcast (LOL!) for a while and has been picked up by the local Salem affiliated station but as much as I love Dennis Prager, I just don't see Mr. Prager kicking many listener ears back down into the earlier AM time-slot!

Suppose, just suppose, that B.H.O is so incensed by the release, that it causes him so much damage, that he declares a state of emergency, demands all manner of emergency power to contain leaks. These emergency powers gradually expand over time, in the interests of security of course.
Two years from now, he imposes new restrictions upon us before the election, curiously when it becomes obvious that his 10% approval rating will translate into him being voted out of office. These new restrictions effectively prevent a viable and fair election, and he refuses to relinquish power on the 20th of Jan 2013. Or an "event" occurs that prevents an orderly transition. Something happens. He stays past his "sell by date".
Yeah, I know, it couldn't happen.
Then again, our media will never fall in love with an empty suit, with no discernible history, with no experience, hidden backers, and a profoundly un-American world view. They would never let him assume the mantle of president, as they would know that he is profoundly unsuited to the task.
No... wait ... they did this ...
So maybe that far out ridiculous scenario ... no ... couldn't be. Not possible. Posted by: John Galt
Cannot happen. His term ends on 1/20/2013, no ifs, ands, or buts. At 12 noon, if there is no election, whoever is Speaker of the House will become President. This reminds me back in 2000 with the "recounts" in Florida and Billy Jeff saying he would stick around as President until it was decided. He was pretty much informed his ass becomes ex-President at noon on January 20th, no matter what.

"Looks like Barry has made some friends in the State Department these past two years, friends who wanted to let the world see just what a combination of Metternich, Gromyko, Lord Cecil and Ben Franklin our President is."
Hillary!

If his countrymen don't like him, then whether the Europeans, Russians, or the Chinese like him or not matters little.

If you'll allow me a serious moment... who here doesn't think the NSA or other security agency could pull the plug on Wikileaks sever or any other that would publish these documents? In truth, Obey wants the leaks to happen.
Now then.. back to the frivolity.

>> John Frum @ #49: I'm no defender of the manchild, but this cannot be allowed to occur. This could potentially damage centries old alliances between other powers.. not just us.
It'll be fine. They still have that RESET button, right?
>> #49: I'm sure we've got 'secret' treaties between other countries on file which could be devestating to the peace of the world if they come out.
If you're referring to Blue Öyster Cult's 1974 release Secret Treaties, it can only be a good thing if all the world's leaders have it.

You now have the encrypted version to compare with the plaintex version, and literally millions of messages to compare for frequency analysis. This potentially could be an absolute nightmare for the U.S.

I don't think they can execute the leaking soldier because we are not in a declared war
Uh, I think they can.
