Trust me here, morons: This should be a post that ALL of you can agree upon.
Ol' Lonesome George. Bringing the High Hard One since 1974.
Do I know what his position is on the Citizens United ruling? Do I care? Should You? He's a Delaware native. That's good enough for today.
Just give me 7:54 and I'll get you smiling again. I guar-on-tee.

O/T, more self-indulgent prickcelebrity news.
Bill Maher: Why I'll never win an Emmy
Walk of Fame honoree says his atheism turns off many voters
THR: Why can't you catch a break at the Emmys?
Maher: A panel of like 10 people watches one tape. If half of those people are religious, that probably eliminates me right there. A lot of people wouldn't vote for such an outspoken atheist, someone who made "Religulous."
THR: "Religulous" did quite well at the box office; any plans to make another documentary?
Maher: I have no desire to make another. I had one subject that I wanted to paint on a bigger canvas than I could in television and in a place that would live in a more permanent way. It took me 10 years to finally get a studio crazy enough to make the movie and the right director, and having made it I feel I have harpooned my Moby Dick.
Harpooned his dick, all right. He's as big a "look-at-poor-me-I'm-such-a-victim" dolt as Meghan McCain.

Outspoken Atheist= actively hostile to all forms of religion.
Someone who made "Religulous"= Someone who did his best to piss all over the faith of 9/10ths of the worlds population.
Yes that might cost you a trophy or two asshole. But please act all persecuted and shit over it. You and CJ ought to talk about how being religiously hostile gets you persecuted by people who put you through the torture of actively ignoring you and not promoting your career; you two have so much in common.
Posted by: MikeTheMoose at September 14, 2010 12:03 PM (0q2P7)
Religulous had an opening weekend take of $3.5 million from an early October 1 release in Los Angeles and New York City and also a limited 502 theater release, averaging $6,972 per theater making it #10 in the box office that weekend. Its per-screen receipts were almost three times those of a competing film to which it has been compared in the media, the politically conservative An American Carol, which edged out Religulous to finish at #9 over the same weekend, but had a per theater average of only $2,325.Only the #1 movie, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, at $9,020, had a higher per-screen average than Religulous.
For the second weekend, Religulous had a 35.5% drop in box office receipts and dropped to #13 with a gross of $2,200,000 at 568 theaters for a per screen average of $3,873.
To date, Religulous has grossed over $13 million after having a production budget of $2.5 million. It is currently 7th among the highest grossing documentaries in the US and is the highest grossing documentary of 2008.
Via Wikipedia, so ......

The volatile compounds evaporate and the remaining oil becomes denser than the water, thus the sinking action. This is a possibility, but the question is whether it matters. And...my guess is that the only people who are going to find it a problem are the people who need it to be a problem.

In MA it's the race for Delahunt's (MA-10) seat between Jeff Perry and Joe Malone. Could be a nice pickup for the GOP, and probably the only seat the GOP can gain in MA this November.
Joe Malone ran a Folksian smear campaign against Perry: "I'm not the one pushing this story, I'm just relaying what I know about Jeff Perry..."

It is frakin' awesome!
You say this man, George Thorogood, is a "Delaware native"?
I had heard tell of such, in my younger, more well traveled days but was never able to verify the existence of such.
Much of what I know about the people of Delaware comes via oral tradition, from denizens of the state of Maryland.
Which has, like 30 of their top intellectuals on par with the likes of Meghan McCain.
If the simpletons from Maryland look down upon those in Delaware (and they do, almost universally) I can only conclude that a Delware native must be profoundly retarded.
*Listens to the guitar. Again*
Wow!

Take them at face value. Levin, Hannity, Rush, Palin all get paid to run their mouths, and their popularity peaks when the Dems are in charge.

See: Limbaugh, Rush "It's all about me;"
Posted by: MrScribbler at September 14, 2010 04:25 PM (Ulu3i)
I'm glad I'm not the only one getting tired of Limbaugh's shit.
And I say that as someone who has listened for 17 years or so.
Today even I got tired of Limbaugh's shit and was screaming at the radio at him for much of the first hour (was in the car, fortunately), as he pompously took it upon himself to throw out the "Buckley Rule" of supporting winnable conservative candidates in favor of the "Limbaugh Rule" of supporting the most conservative candidate, period, in every race, no matter where, no matter who, no matter what. 'Cause you know, it doesn't matter if our candidates are shady, smear-mongering professional-candidate grifters; it doesn't even matter if they're crazy; if they're True Conservatives then, well, we're all obliged to turn our brains off and pull the levers for them.
'Cause apparently, you know, William F. Buckley was just your predictable northeastern RINO apparatchik for throwing the "winnable" clause in there. Who the FUCK does Rush think he is?
It is really distressing to watch the best conservative voices out there go Full Retard over this dishonest, miserable loser O'Donnell. They're wrecking their own reputations and becoming the architects of a continued Democrat Senate.
(And I've been listening almost every day for over a dozen years.)

Hehehehehe.
Posted by: Sponge at September 14, 2010 12:51 PM (UK9cE)
Buckley himself didn't follow the "Buckley Rule", and Limbaugh has consistently supported the most conservative candidate (remember '08 where the closest he came to an endorsement was Teh Fred?). This isn't some new thing he made up for this race.

If we had real justice in the country ALL of the MFM would have been busted for sucking Obama's balls throughout the entire election.
Posted by: Vic at September 14, 2010 01:02 PM (/jbAw)
No I don't remember Rush even coming close to endorsing Thompson.
And I doubt very much that Buckley would have thrown out his own rule in order to keep conservatives in the minority.

Rush said (A) Vote for who you think is the most conservative candidate, (B) Fred Thompson is the only conservative in the race.
Connect the dots.
Buckley supported Goldwater. Buckley supported Reagan against Ford. And he supported himself in his own political runs.

You know what's funny? Ace hates it when people start referring to Michelle Obama as a w**kie or Kl*ngon or W*rf. But he loved razzing her for her muscular arms and poor fashion choice. And he was en fuego! when he would go off on the media for calling her shit like "the most beautiful woman in the world!!!111!!!!"
Well, here's the thing. Personally, it doesn't bother me a bit when she get's called the above unmentionables.
HOWEVER... (and I can't believe I'm saying this...) personally, I think Michelle Obama is smokin' hot. Sexy as all hell. No joke.
Yeah, sometimes her fashion sense can run right off the rails. But when it is on, it is on!
Her body and ass. Fuckin' awesome. That ass is like a wild animal.
Her face. Err...awesome too. (I'm running out of adjectives here.)
So yeah, I think she's smokin' hot.
NOW...I find her attitude repulsive. Sersiously repulsive. And there are many times when her repulsive attitude can't restrain itself, and gets written all over her face.
So let's just say I think she's someone who about as hot as they come, and someone who I couldn't care less about getting flamed.
So help me God.
You've read my confession.
Be merciful...

What frosts my ass about Rash Fatblob's endorsement of O'Donnell is that, as far as I can tell (and I don't live in DE), all of O'Donnell's "conservative principles" are in her mouth.
Yes, I said that.
Has she actually done anything that demonstrates those principles at work?
Talk is cheap. Unless you're the one footing the bill for the "Great I Am's" radio contract.

Same group invoked the 11th, and would say nary a peep during the presidential primaries, until it was too fucking late!
(I'm not saying that it was ever likely that an (R) was going to win the general in 2008 but seriously McCain? Until the announcement, I thought it very possible that Biden could wind up being the Veep on two tickets.)
Don't get me wrong. I still LOVE Rush and Levin.
But I'm tired of this public penitence over acts of "water carrying" for the previous administration.
If you did do that, that was YOUR choice, big boy and I don't want to hear you bitch about it later.
I'll take my opinion leaders all weepy and sensitive and angry and sometimes, Ban- Hammery and shit.
Jayzus!
Fucking Delaware for crie-ie-eye!
I still, mostly, hold the state of Maryland responsible for this shit.
If you can't keep your bitch in line, what sort of a state are you?

I'm beginning to see a trend of undercover socialists/statists trying to make "moderate" statements or trying to blend in to free enterprise/smaller gov. talk. It ain't working anymore. You've been showing your hand the last couple of weeks.

Has she actually done anything that demonstrates those principles at work?
No she has not. No she is not stellar. She may be a phoney hack. She may be looney toons.
I do not really care.
One the one hand... it's virtually impossible for her to be the worst senator. She would have to be SO bad, it would just be AMAZING. It is not a tough job. Anyone can do it. And certifiably NUTSO would be, who knows? Maybe an asset. Shake things up. And that's all assuming she even wins.
On the other hand - duh, duh, duh, and another one bites the dust.
And another one gone and another one gone, and another bites the dust.
Hey! We're gonna get you too!
Another one bites the dust!
Pay attention Snowe, you're on deck. Cornyn, there's hope for you - still time to change and get your ass in line with your base.
This is the year they actually learn something. Even if it kills them.
GOP does not coopt Tea Party. Tea Party coopts GOP.
Then... maybe, MAYBE, the GOP actually shrinks government, for the first time. All it does now is grow and grow. It does not matter which party is running the show.
When the socialist-lite party is obliterated and replaced with a genuine small goverment party maybe they will win elections or maybe they won't - no point in arguing hypotheticals - but at least it'll have a goddamn chance.

Who the FUCK does Rush think he is?
Lord of fuckin La Mancha. Don Quixote.
Who the fuck is anyone? Who the fuck is Buckley?
Rush never signed on a dotted line obligating himself to follow anyone elses rules.
Lots of people seem to think it's pompous to follow your own rules, usually because they're too chickenshit to do it, and jealous.
I think you're just pissed because you disagree with him.
Who the hell gets to be the final arbitor of electability anyway?

But, he probably knows, like some of us, that those days are over...and that allowing RINOs to write the agenda in DC HAS FAILED.
Time for a new game plan, because the Rinos like Castle have proved to be counter-productive.

IIRC one of the first days he commented here Scribbler said he hates Rush for not pushing McCain over the finish line.
Given the rather undisguised animosity between Rush and McCain which has been on display for the better part of a DECADE, he was remarkably supportive of McCain. More than I thought he'd be. He really shut up during that election and towed the line like a good soldier. At least as I recall.
Especially once Palin got in.
