— Maetenloch Welcome all M&M-types to just another Caturday ONT.

Introducing the Psycho Dog Man
Apparently a pair of dogs was terrorizing residents of a town in Australia and a local tv station interviewed some of the victims. One of them was Ray Graham who described and reenacted the dogs' attack a little too well. Since then he's become an internet sensation and is now known as Psycho Dog Man. I like how his wife seems relatively nonplussed at his snarling - I'm guessing she's heard this impersonation before.
The new law allows anyone over 21 who can legally own a gun to carry a concealed gun without any permit. This adds Arizona to Vermont and Alaska which also allow permit-less concealed carry.
Another ObamaCare Iceberg
I guess you really do have to read the bill to find out what's in it. Because someone did and discovered that the bill removes any restrictions on recent immigrants receiving public benefits. Previously immigrants weren't allowed in if they would be a burden on public services - they had to be supported by a US sponsor. The welfare reform bill of 1996 strengthened this by requiring sponsors to pay back the government if their sponsored immigrant went on the public dole within five years. Thanks to ObamaCare that requirement is now gone and immigrants can get welfare, food stamps, medical care, and the full panoply of government benefits from day one.
Holy Crap - Sarah Jessica Parker's Arms!
The sad part is that she thinks this is attractive. Maybe if she had a little muscle on her, but this is just bones, tendons, and starvation. And ladies, starvation is not sexy.

Remembering the very first Internet spam
On April 12, 1996 the legal firm Cantor-Siegel spammed 6,000 usenet groups with an offer to help get a green card. I was active in usenet groups back then and remember when this happened. In those days the internet (which was basically email, usenet, ftp, and gopher) was a more innocent place and most people viewed it as a non-commercial place with certain standards of behavior. So when the Cantor-Siegel spam appeared, the early netizens were outraged and swore that this offense would not be tolerated in the future. Well given lace wigs and sketcher shoes, it's clear those efforts have failed. Sadly the first spam and the September That Never Ended marked the end of the early golden age of the internet.
A Bishop's Theory on the Church Pedophile Scandal: The Jews Did It
Well he actually said the 'zionists' were behind it but we all know that zionist is pronounced "joo".
Real men get their nostrils waxed
Well when they're at the Man Expo. As much I want to mock, the truth is no one wants to see a guy's nose bush sticking out. So trim it, cut it, pluck it, or even wax it if you have to.
And that goes for you ladies as well.
"One thing that I did that I was not expecting, was to get my nose hair waxed," Johnson said. "My nose feels beautiful and slender. It feels five pounds lighter."

Bacon Fat Popcorn?
Yes. It seems so obvious once you hear about it. And it fits in with my theory of food: if you like A and you like B, you'll probably like A and B mixed together.

The 9 Weirdest Crispin Glover Moments
And there's been a lot over the years. Apparently Glover is still acting and occasionally directing movies. He played Grendel in the 2007 Beowulf movie and is currently in Alice in WonderLand and Hot Tub Time Machine. But I still think his Letterman appearance is the highest achievement in weirdness.

The Yahoo AoSHQ group. Bla bla bla. And don't forget about the Job Bank.

Allegedly speaking to the Catholic website Pontifex, Babini, 81, was quoted as saying: "They do not want the church, they are its natural enemies. Deep down, historically speaking, the Jews are God killers."
I thought the Catholic clergy got finished hating the Jews once they helped all the high-level Nazis escape from Europe after the war. Looks like some guys didn't get the memo.

Sigh. Why do I feel the need to check every damn news site before I turn in only to get depressed and anxious? From The Hill:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) said the Democrats are one bill away from completing President Barack Obama’s “blueprint for American prosperity.”
“We have passed two of the three pillars in the historic healthcare and education reform and are working towards a clean energy and climate agenda in Congress,” Pelosi said in her remarks to the California Democratic Party state convention in Los Angeles on Saturday. “And essential to prosperity for middle-income Americans is reining in Wall Street.”
“The House has passed Wall Street reform, and working with our colleagues in the Senate, we will ensure that never again will those who are reckless on Wall Street make people jobless on Main Street,” she said.
One commenter questioned if there weren't "Five Pillars of Islam."

Google search for "longest baseball game" came up with this, from here:
Starting at 8:00 AM on October 13, 2007 at TR
Hughes
Ballpark in O'Fallon, Missouri, the St. Louis Browns took on the St.
Louis Stars
in a baseball game with proceeds going to the Gene Slay's Boys' Club of
St.
Louis. Gene Slay's Boys' Club.
The game was tribute to St. Louis' history
in
baseball by representing two of the cities' great teams from the past:
The 1928
Negro National League Champion St. Louis Stars and the 1944 American
League
Champion St. Louis Browns.

In a second instalment of the tribute to St. Louis' history in baseball, honoring the 65th anniversary of the All-St. Louis Streetcar Series, the organizers of the original world's longest baseball game beat their own record.
From October 09 - 11, 2009 at TR Hughs Ballpark in O'Fallon, Mo, the Edward Jones Browns played the Jonny G. Foundation Cardinals in a game that lasted 48 hours, 9 minutes and 25 seconds.
The Browns beat the Cardinals 180-140.
Some highlights:
292 singles
72 doubles
11 triples
2 homeruns
151 walks
172 strikeouts
20 double plays
1 triple play

From Insty. WH Press Corpse: But you said you'd respect us in the morning!
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs met with a delegation from the White House press corps for 75 minutes on Thursday in an effort to improve frayed relations between the two sides.
Ed Chen, a White House correspondent for Bloomberg News who is president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, said he asked for the meeting “to clear the air because in my 10-plus years at the White House, rarely have I sensed such a level of anger, which is wide and deep, among members over White House practices and attitude toward the press.”

Breaking News...
A new, totally unbiased MSM poll* shows that 93% of Americans have an unfavorable view of Sarah Palin. In a hypothetical matchup with Pres. Obama in 2012, Palin loses 99% - 1%. We're not telling the GOP what to do, but they might want to go in a different direction.
*This scientific poll of 700 Democrats, 200 Green Party members, 200 independents and 10 Republicans was conducted April 15-16, and has a margin of error of +/- Shut Up.

Look, we have a rabble rouser in the White House now. Palin would be the corollary to Obama in that regard. She's good at riling the base, but that doesn't translate into demonstrating leadership qualities.
If we insist on playing the political identity card, can we at least look to someone less inflammatory and someone perceived as smart, a la Liz Cheney?

ok, fine. point taken. but there are just too many people out there who will not give her a second look. they see her and immediately they think "idiot' and their mind is closed. I thinki it would do better at this point in time to choose a candidate who isn't broadly known, who has executive experience, who can project a vision of what this country could be without endless deficits and spending we can't afford. Sarah Palin would just plain lose and we can't afford that. can you imagine trying to repeal ObamaCare in 2016 after it's been fully implemented? there's no f'in way. we will be stuck with nationalzed health care and we will be just known as france west.

The relationship of the Press with Obama has a simple allegorical relationship to the Lifetime Channel; you know, the channel about women.
As Jim Gaffigan said, there is always something bad happening to a woman on "Lifetime"; now, on Lifetime, Meredith Baxter-Birney on a Lifetime special, being beaten by a rod. And the women eat it up.
That's the Media, or the press, or whatever we call them today. They love to be abused. Hurt us some more Barack, it feels so good.
I remember GHW Bush making a comment about them at the end of his term, looking at them out in the rain waiting to cover something, and he said, "How sad, how pathetic. Get a job, get a life."

I think people some people are just wrong about Palin and her lack of ability. She in my opinion turned Obama and the democrats major accomplishment (health care ) from an asset to an anchor around their neck with her death panel column and her follow up, she made Obama send out Gates and Hillary on the Sunday shows to totally reverse his "we won't use nukes" policy. She has had a lot of influence from just a facebook page. I agree she is a bit shrill when she speaks but so was Hillary until she spent a few weeks with a speaking coach.
I'm not ready to give up on her at all yet.

Dan,
One of the things wrong with this country is the disappearance of drive-ins. It also has probably contributed to the falling of the birthrate.

By the time you watch two movies at a drive inn in the summer it's pushing 2:30. I know the owners of this one and the previous owners. They are good hustling young men fighting the winds of change. The go for family oriented movies and a family atmosphere. I wish Hollywood had the sense these guys do. And yes a whole lotta humpin happened in drive inns. Many a young man made his first runs throu the bases there. I usually got held up at first.

And we did the whole shebang too, the spoon, the sugar cube, the ice cold water, getting the appropriate “louche” effect.
After the first glass did nothing I made cocktails with the absinthe. Still nothing.

Off to bed, but first have to read a little Gator-A-Go-Go. If you Morons haven't heard of Tim Dorsey, jot down his name immediately. Start with the first: Florida Roadkill. Forget about horror books during these dark days. I've never laughed so hard (or out loud) as I have at Dorsey's protagonist, Serge A. Storms.
Serge has severe ADHD but doesn't like the way meds makes him feel all foggy. He's also a serial killer who only kills people who need it (a lot more creatively and for less provocation than Dexter). His best friend is a hard core drunk/drug abuser named Coleman (who got his name when his dad locked him in a cooler to stop pestering [the dad] while he was watching a ballgame on TV. Tim Dorsey makes Carl Hiassen look like a piker.
Sorry for the book-length diatribe, but I know that some of you can read and might be looking for good books.

Yes. Exactly. Considering they met on FB and since they live so far away they spend a lot of time communicating on FB it is rather ironic that he made the mistake of letting risqué stuff to and from another woman appear on his wall. Or maybe it isn’t, maybe that’s the new way to do things in this effed up internet dating world. Anyway, it was kind of the last straw because while she was visiting him, his cell phone rang while he was out of the car and when she glanced at the screen the call was from this woman.

The worst part is that he was seriously trying to talk her into uprooting herself and moving down there. He professed his love to her over and over again.
Sometimes I honestly donÂ’t understand how in this crazy fucked up world two people ever find each other and fall in love and live relatively happily ever after anymore.

Dear Men of AoSHQ,
My publicist tipped me off to your horrid commentary about me.
Look, I know you men have it difficult. Women are just about impossible to understand, much less please. In a post-feminist society, you never know exactly what you should be doing. Women are bloody picky, I know we are. It can be scary, too, when women freak out about what appear to be benign issues. And men who do their best to be respectful, female-positive humans, I salute you, I do.
But please, please just fuck me already. Honestly, I appreciate your thoughtfulness and sharing your sugar cubes.. I like that you want to take things slow in the saddle.. I can totally get behind the idea of emotional connection, but dearjesusinheaven, FUCK ME. My husband won't since the conception of the twins. I'm wearing a low cut shirt and you've been staring at my goddamn arms all night. Goodgodalmighty, get to it and fuck me.
When we get hot and heavy, please take charge. Please, please fuck me. Trust me, I'm not going to just lie still - I'll get involved. But don't make me force your hand into my panties. That makes me feel like a rapist. I've been reading for a half hour and I want your hand grazing my ass. That will be nice, but it's time to move forward. Get on top of me. Don't make me get on top right out of the gate and start bobbing up and down on you like I'm practicing some crazy new aerobic yoga because YOU won't go down on me. Roll on top and start dry humping like a good boy should. Don't gently suck my nipples and then pull back when I moan with pleasure. You being coy is totally not what I want.
I'll give you the answer that you'll endorse. I am always on a steady course.
People yak-it-ti-yak a streak and waste your time of day, but Sarah will never speak, unless she has something to say...

Who knows. But I was stumped by this problem. And this guy comes over and moved faster on the keyboard than this here computer can keep up and then suddenly says..."Fixed".
And I'm not kidding when I say it was like 30 seconds or so.
So I was just making sure that everything was working ok when I did the tests.

Kratos, I suppose so. I mean it would be weird to ignore him. I tend to not ignore friend requests as long as it is someone I actually know and used to get along with (or from the morons, even though I can never tell who is who when getting friend requests from Ace folks).
But I hate that I even have to think about it and evaluate it. You know, in earlier times these people just fell out of your life and maybe every once in a while you thought “hey I wonder what old so and so is doing now” but you didn’t try too hard to find out.
Now we know that old so and so “just ate pork chops for dinner”. Whoopie.

it's an Open Secret that all of the studios writing TeeVee shows for the networks have a list of 'tag lines' or talking points that they try to put into their scripts, including certain types of images, characters, and plot lines.
All of you reading this can write the list yourselves, 'cause you done seen the results each and every week. It's why all the shows, regardless of the different settings, are eerily similar in some ways

Stay focused my fellow Morons!
Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since? Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from the nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they? And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of the nation they come from and are fighting against in a brutal insurgency. I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11. I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan. I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat. I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion cult by hiding in mosques and behind women and children. I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs. I'll care when the media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care. When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and 'fed special food' that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care. |And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Anyone who wants to fly from NoCal to the East Coast or Texas should fly Southwest out of Oakland ( just don't stop on the freeway thereabouts )
They usually have cheap seats until the day of the flight. Oakland - Jacksonville
( change planes in Lost Wages ) is only just over $200 for a lotta flights
they also fly out of SFO now

the airline pricing system is Byzantine. Flying coast to coast can be cheaper than flying a half or less of that distance. On flights from Cali to the East Coast and Texas, Southwest cuts its price to compete--but so do others
If you don't get the 'wanna get away' fare,on SWA, the next price level jumps up to double. So you need to be somewhat flexible to get the cheaper fares

Tomalley or lobster paste is the soft, green substance found in the body cavity of lobsters, that fulfills the functions of both the liver and the pancreas. Tomalley corresponds to the hepatopancreas in other arthropods. It is considered a delicacy, and may be eaten alone but is often added to sauces for flavor and as a thickening agent.
I cannot imagine eating a tail without separating the top from the bottom of the tail meat to remove the vein that carries the lobster "poop". That may be an old wives tale but after hearing that I would never eat a tail without performing the procedure.

Large lobsters taste as good as small ones until you get to 5 to 7 pounds. Then the meat gets kind of stringy. Advocates of tail meat recommend getting a female whose tail is broader than a male's of equal size since she uses the space to carry her eggs or row. The red stuff. ummmm.

(1) Sometimes they were more geared towards preaching a type of pacifism, but it was never really consistent. My understanding was that the Doctor was willing to kill, he just didn't embrace genocide. But he definitely killed, & sometimes in rather odd ways. He was also harsh with his punishments, like in "Human Nature"/ "Family of Blood": We wanted to live forever. So the Doctor made sure we did. (followed by long list of getting stuck in the vortex forever)
(2) All British TV shows are largely dismissive of Americans & consider them to be backwards misfits from New York. Even saw that on "Foyle's War". But Brits have always been that way, & they always will. Lots of it is a left-over attitude from the American Revolution. It's safe-to-say it still smarts.
I just thought that it was little more than indoctrination dressed up as scifi.
Eh, compared to Russell T. Davies political beliefs, it was honestly relatively tame. He's done some overtly Commie shows in the past, & he's about to top his "Queer As Folk": Davies has referred to his next project after Doctor Who and Torchwood as "MGM (More Gay Men)". This will be a "big gay series", revisiting some of the themes of Queer as Folk, but "a bit more 40-year-old".

Because lobster meat can go bad quickly, it's generally necessary to cook a lobster while she's still alive. That means you pick a green lobster, but don't eat it until its shell turns red! Never eat a cooked lobster with its tail uncurled, as it died before it was cooked. Take that away, Morons!

In fairness to the Brits, they're pretty consistently portrayed in Hollywood movies and American TV as either stuffy twits, evil geniuses, or just plain evil. Other than Daphne, British women have been portrayed as sophisticated bitches
Offending the British doesn't lose a lot of viewers or bring out the advocacy groups. Nor do they get death threats for portraying a certain religion as anything but peace loving victims of racist redneck white men
