Back in the summer of 1962 the US set off a hydrogen bomb 250 miles in space over the Pacific as part of Starfish Prime. And it created quite a show for Hawaii:
In Honolulu, the explosions were front page news. "N-Blast Tonight May Be Dazzling: Good View Likely," said the Honolulu Advertiser. Hotels held what they called "Rainbow Bomb Parties" on rooftops and verandas. When the bomb burst, people told of blackouts and strange electrical malfunctions, like garage doors opening and closing on their own. But the big show was in the sky.The electrical malfunctions were the effects of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) from the nuclear explosion and showed that EMP could be a weapon all by itself.
So why did we nuke space? Well it was an experimental age - the Van Allen belts had only been discovered a few years before and we figured that if we didn't do it, the Soviets would. So why let them get all the glory and secret data from it. Plus it was a good chance to show the aliens that we were totally willing to nuke things from orbit.
But of course it's really our failure:

I consider this an indicator that either Portland has managed to solve all their crime and social problems or that PBOT's budget is way too large.

I had this very large piece of equipment mounted on wheels that maneuvered like a tractor trailer in the space of a small garage.
Thinking back to the SSP, I had a large wheel mounted on the center of gravity and put casters on all four corners. Problem solved.

It was in June of 1956, that the practical television remote controller first entered the American home. However, as far back as 1893, a remote control for television was described by Nikola Tesla in U.S. Patent 613809. The Germans used remote control motorboats during WWI. In the late 1940's the first non-military uses for remote controls appeared for example, automatic garage door openers.

I didn't read the book, but I could only last through about 25 minutes of the documentary version. Finding faults in logic and in reporting wasn't difficult with it.

I don't know of any explicitly stated that bodies were exhumed either to get pieces. You would think some of the relics that are pieces of saints exist in that form due to martydom and no definite burial.

Yup. I saw it on TV. Movie Channel or maybe Comedy Central. One that was promoting its airing heavily so being on several times in a week. Otherwise I'd have never seen it. Everyone in the movie is completely unlikeable except for Hartnett's character and the girl (she was Heath Ledger's costar in Knight's Tale). Yeah Winter has been here for a while now. I was looking at my daily temps from my weather station. This Dec my average daily low is 27.2 so far. That is about 10°F lower than last Dec. If I remember correctly last Dec was about 5° colder than the previous Dec and that was 5° colder than the one before that.
Without going to NOOA data which I no longer trust can't back it up because I lost two years worth of data last Dec when I picked up that damn phony "you have a virus" trojan. That's the kind of shit that really pisses me off.
Anyway, all the indications are that we are heading into another ice age. That on top of the financial stuff is going to be some serious boning for everyone. The idiots think we would have had it bad with warming, wait for cold and starving.

I read some where that new sun spot activity or inactivity was going to cause cooler temps. I think that has more influence on what happens here then any co content in the atmosphere. Though tards believe they can change co content a few 100ths of a percent they can't do nuttin about that big ball of fire...I agree with your observation we have been cooling earlier with less warmth or at least shorter summers.

You can bet they will file with the DOJ and you can bet Holder will support them.

If there's any Muslims in the mix you be guaranteed Holder will be in it up to his elbows. They wanted redistricting when it's to their voting benefit, they want only votes counted that will give them close elections, they want more on the dole to vote for them. Super majority or not, Texas Democrats fight tooth and nail. And to date, Texas Republicans led by State Party insiders (Perry clique) refuse to force a vote during biennial sessions or special sessions for state licensed ID (driver license) required for voter registration and to vote in elections.
TX-25 Congressional District deserves real representation, rather than being monopolized by Austin's mouth, the only constituents Doggett represents, denying the body its voice.
Let Austin keep Doggett, Austin as its own district, separated from all of the surrounding outlying conservative region given its own district identity/representation yet denied.

It's just like when transit agencies stick a subway or bus line and one ethnicity won't for the life of them use it. Shouldn't someone be asking the question why? Maybe a better example: If PBOT built a new road to some bustling shopping district and no minorities were ever seen driving on that one road compared to all the others around it, wouldn't that arouse curiosity?
