— Maetenloch Happy Thursday M&Ms. Oh and today is also the birthday of a certain ONT blogger emeritus so everyone gather around and sing him Happy Birthday until it gets really awkward and embarrassing. Afterwards we'll have airing of petty grievances followed by the rebuttal. In the meantime one of the more trustworthy morons needs to go collect his free fudge cake from Denny's. And if you sign the card, just remember his name is spelled the non-Kerry way and please try and keep all your drool on the moron side.
Without PCP or fasting. Well just stare at this picture for about 30 seconds and then look at a wall. You will see a vision.

Just off the coast of Brazil is the beautiful uninhabited island of Ilha de Queimada. And it probably will always remain uninhabited since it's packed with snakes with up to 5 snakes per square meter! And these aren't your average garter snakes - no, they're the deadly golden lancehead whose venom quickly melts any flesh it touches. It's so dangerous that the Brazilian navy forbids anyone from landing on the island without permission. Of course violating this order is pretty much its own punishment as certain fishermen have found out the Darwinian way.

Then this flick has two people visiting their father's grave when one of the corpses comes towards them as they make fun of him / it--until BAM !! he grabs the guy and starts munching on him

They each have their merits, but I'll take the slow
zombies. The terrifying thing about slow zombies is that they lull you
into a false sense of security -- "oh hell, I can outrun that thing" --
but quickly amass in numbers until you're overwhelmed.
Not to sound contradictory, but that was the main thing I didn't like about the remake of Dawn (and for that matter Zombieland). Slow ones are creepier.

Scientists are still not entirely sure which set of chemical compounds contained in asparagus actually cause the smelly pee. The stalks themselves do not acquire a similar odor as they are prepared, so whatever happens most likely happens after ingestion. Experts believe that those with a certain gene produce a digestive enzyme which breaks down the asparagus into various chemical compounds. One of those compounds is called methyl mercaptan, which is the same chemical which gives a skunk its defensive smell. One theory suggests that asparagus breaks down quickly in the body and an enzyme releases methyl mercaptan, which eventually goes through the kidneys and is excreted as a waste product in the urine.
Others suggest that the asparagus smell is created by other chemical compounds called thioesters. There is also a compound called asparagusic acid, which is not surprisingly found primarily in asparagus. If these compounds are broken down and mixed with the genetically-created enzyme, the results could be a strong smelling urine. This smell is actually considered to be good news, since it proves that the asparagus eater's kidneys are functioning as they should.

I went to a wedding this past weekend where I was served a vegetarian dish in lieu of fish or veal. It comprised of tender asparagus, carrots, brussel sprouts (radishy tasting and very good), green squash (possibly some yellow as well), and some kind of bitter green leafy vegetable. Incredibly good aside from the leafy vegetable. On the side was a fantastic risotto that I couldn't eat due to the cheese involved.
The cake was the only carrot cake I've ever liked. A moist brown sugary concoction where the carrot tasted like candy with a buttercream outer frosting and cream cheese frosting between the layers.
Very good.

Bill O'Reilly is a complete retard.
it took me until about 2004 to realize what a phoney he is.
I still can't pin his beliefs down.
He says he is culturally conservative, but he has quasi porn on his show every night.
He says he is just looking out for the folks, which i guess makes him a populist, but at the same time he insults other populists.
He says he is pro gun somedays and other days he says guns should be confiscated in the event of an emergency.
He says he is a capitalist, but between 2006-2008 he wouldn't shut up about the Oil Companies' huge 6 percent profits.
He claims he is a journalist when he wants to be taken seriously, and then claims he is an editorial opinion maker when it suits him. Which if i may point out is the exact same thing John Stewart does. He says he's a comedian so any mistakes he makes can be swept away with the line, "this is a comedy show". Yet at the same time he wants to be taken seriously when he thinks he is making a good point.
O'Reilly addresses his segments as they were living entities with opinions wholly separate from his own. "Checks says..." "Points does not agree with.."
I honestly believe the man stands for nothing but saying whatever he thinks will get him the most ratings. I do not believe that Bill O'Reilly has any core beliefs.

Blazer, we had a platoon reunion in the midwest and went fishing on one of the guys pontoon boat on a river. He was in construction and had a 1/2 stick of dynomite. He threw it up river and then touched the wires to the battery to detonate it. Meanwhile the dynomite had drifted back under the front of the boat. It blew the plywood floor off and both coolers. I know where you're coming from. I once was at the rocks in my college days (in the central Va. area thats a popular place on the James River in the City of Richmond) and slipped on some moss on a large boulder and plummeted aout 15 feet down to another large boulder while carrying a case of Bud in the bottles. Heroically I twisted in mid-air, brought the case on top of me in a loving, motherly embrace and saved it from impact while sacrificing my own body. Not a bottle was broken and all was well.
What hurt was, not a single fucking person i was with asked me if I was alright, only the beer.
And no, I wasnt fucking alright.

Today when I tried to leave work, my car wouldn't start--got that distinctive "click, click, click" sound when I tried to start it. I had to call AAA (security wasn't around and my jumper cables weren't in the trunk--the empty case was). The guy from AAA came and tested my battery, and it wouldn't hold a charge. I had to buy a new battery on the spot (kind of glad, actually just to get it taken care of right away).

Thanks Blazer. Yeah, he didnÂ’t even cry, what alerted my husband was the loud noise my head made upon impacting the post. Luckily I have a hard head.
My son is the type of little kid that could cut off his arm and look at you and say it was OK and go back to playing. Sometimes it is really frustrating because heÂ’ll be banged up from something and have no clue from where. When he was younger and my ex and I werenÂ’t getting along as well it was more of a problem, but now we both sort of take it in stride.
Two weeks ago my son was regaling me with some playground story and he said, “yeah, she wasn’t even hurt, it wasn’t like the time I fell off the top of the monkey bars and hit my head on the ground.” Darn kid apparently got up, brushed himself off and went back to playing.

My son is back Saturday afternoon. The Easter Bunny is bringing him a stuffed Pokemon, a Pokemon guidebook, and some new Lego sets. I hope the Easter Bunny is bringing me a big ass bottle of booze.
Ha! I was just asking my husband the other day (while perusing the Target ad) since when did Easter morph into the second coming of Christmas? Geez! When I was a kid, i got a basket with candy and maybe a small stuffed animal. I dyed eggs the night before Easter, then went to church the next a.m. in my new dress, shoes, gloves and Easter bonnet. Wha' happen?

Well my sonÂ’s Easter Lego sets are the new Prince of Persia ones. He pretty much owns just about every Star Wars set now.
IÂ’m as big a kid about Lego sets as he is. Santa Claus gave me the carousel for Christmas. Of course I havenÂ’t started building it yet.

One man curses others;

The third has no inkling

Most plural nouns already end in s. To create their possessive, simply add an apostrophe after the s:
The Pepins' house is the big blue one on the corner. The lions' usual source of water has dried up. The gases' odors mixed and became nauseating. The witches' brooms were hidden in the corner. The babies' beds were all in a row."I figured I'd look it up, it's so confusing.Posted by: curious at April 01, 2010 09:40 PM (p302b)

You could definitely run a 5k or a 10k this summer. You can find great training programs, cross training and stretching tips and videos on runnersworld.com. They would have "how to train for your first [5k,10k, 1/2 marathon, marathon]" that would be really helpful. So running for speed--is that how you busted the treadmill (or was that an April Fool's thing too?) If you want, you can go online every week and axcess my running club's track workout. We have a coach who puts up a different speed workout every week (usually on Monday). Keep in mind that one lap around the track is 400 meters (1/4 mile) and a mile is 4 laps. The website is freewebs.com/johnsweeney11. He has the workout broken up into pace groups. The fastest guys that come are about group 4. I'm group 9 or 10.

My mom started out as a surgical nurse, back in the 30's but got sick of all the asskissing that the docs demanded, so she moved into Public Health. Her family's from Texas, but she went up to NYC, and started working for the City under Mayor LaGuardia. She went into the Army for 4 years, was a combat nurse in the South Pacific, came back and eventually became the head Public Health nurse in NY and than got the gig with the NLN before she retired back here in Texas.
