For me, the issue is not his lack of knowledge or his lack of access to people with a lot of knowledge on this particular topic: it's what he has done (or not done) with the resources available to him.  Palin could be excused for not being a nuclear policy/foreign policy expert...he and or his advisors cannot (and this administration has shown itself woefully weak in that area, no?).

As for the folksy sound bite: it's effective, and in two ways: 1)nice folksy sound bite for her supporters or those who might view her at least favorably; 2)direct swipe at him and his most ardent supporters -- they are notoriously thin skinned; she's taking advantage of it.  That last is proof enough that she understands politics and strategy much better then he does.

As Governor of Alaska I'm sure she delt with nuclear issues. How many nukes are stationed in Alaska? How vital is Alaska to missle defense? Was she totally out of the loop on all that? I don't know the answer but you should.

I assume a conservative blogger on a conservative site will have already taken those things into account when knocking down the biggest conservative on the stage right now. Especially when you doing so in defense of the most socialist/pacifist/appeasing president we have ever had.

Sarah Palin is the best thing we have going. She is smart. Her judgement is sound. I am confident in her abilities on the world stage and in domestic affairs. I also trust she will not compromise on our principles just to get something done. I know that she like Reagan will be able to push through her agenda in a bipartisian popular manner.

Your post about nuclear Palin wasn't about nuke issues at all. You just don't want her for President.

I've always been suspicious of this, that it was probably 99% Lugar and 1% BO.  Think about it.  The bill was introduced in November 2005.  At that time BO had been in the Senate for less than a year after a mediocre stint as an Illinois state legislature hack, while Lugar had been a noted foreign policy wonk for decades.  My guess is that Lugar wanted bipartisan sponsorship, and the Dems put up BO because he was one of their bright young faces.  Faces, not minds.

drew is so wrong on this.  that line of Palin's was picked up by every major news agency.  It made the top and bottom of the hour news on Radio and TV.   the soundbite  was great it did its job.  It answered the POTUS comment, he cemented more so Palin's anti-obama position within the country.  It elevated her to main domestic opponent of Pres Obama,  It also got her into the forgein policy debate circles that up into this point she has been excluded from.  

 

 Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Drew was one of those claiming 2 mins after Palin resigned that she was done in politics forEVER.   Him and Ace have at least been consistently wrong about Palin.  Both of them have more often than not taken the opposite of what Palin is doing and yet Palin's support continues to grow by leaps and bounds.  Maybe it's time they start looking at things from a different angle at least then they wouldn't be 100% wrong when it comes to Palin.
