— Ace Chaotic Evil, Lawful Evil merge into new alignment called Awesome Evil.
Ms. Palin will not have her own regular program, one person familiar with the deal said, though she will host an occasional series that will run on the network from time to time. This person would not elaborate, but the network does have a precedent for such a series. Oliver L. North is the host of an occasionally running documentary series on the military called “War Stories.”Many suspected that when Ms. Palin retired as the governor of Alaska last summer she was doing so to pursue some sort of career in television. The Fox News deal, however, would not seem to be all encompassing, and would appear to give her room for other pursuits, as well.

I wouldn't rule out a run for office again in 2012, but much will depend on how events transpire between now and then. The "tea party" movement will probably gather a lot of steam as the various boondoggles now underway continue to play out: the collapse of various states (California, Michigan, New York, etc.); the looming public-pension catastrophe; the anemic job picture through 2012; the profligacy of the federal government.
Much of her appeal is pure populism, but that's not necessarily bad in itself. The rank-and-file taxpayers are getting a world-class pronging from the so-called elites, and it's past time for a rebellion. Perhaps Sarah can lead this mass of angry taxpayers into some kind of organized revolt. If so...Godspeed!

I am not a huge Palinite, but it isn't suprising. I think she will do what Huckabee is doing, which is trying to follow the Reagan model of being in contact with everyday Americans even when you are not involved in politics(political office).
Reagan gave his radio commentaries and toured America for General Electric. I think that is what Huckabee was trying to do with his Fox show and now it looks like Palin is adding another line of communication to america that don't follow her facebook account.
I am not saying either is Reagan, clearly they both come up short, but it does look like they are trying to follow his model on how to remain relevant to Americans when not running for or working in a political office.

They should air her segments at 5pm. Then Tingles McGee over at MSNBC can have a full-fledged Network moment on air. We already know his ratings are on the shitter--having her be part of his competition would send him out to pasture--for good!
Just for good measure--she should do a piece where she interviews D&Liz Cheney.

Is this consistent or inconsistent with a '12 run?
she's shouldn't run 2012. I think she would make a better king maker than a king. (to the left, that is a figure of speach, i do not actually want her to be involved in the overthrow of our government to install a monarchy).
She should have been the head of the RNC. She is a fund raising machine, and she gets a certain segment of our party extremely energized, whereas Steele just seems to be interested in himself and not the reformation and expansion of the party.

I wouldn't be so quick to figure that. She seems to know all the right moves.
Back when she resigned, only a small percentage saw the political genius in it. She's at the point now where it's safe to presume political genius first. She's bigger than Fox News and appearing on it will not change that.
Karl Rove was merely a lib caricature to me before he started appearing regularly on Fox. She needs people to see her and this is how it happens.

I believe this is dangerous. You see, when you have such an intense convergence of hawtness like Megyn Kelly, Julie Banderas, and now Sarah Palin on the same network, it could cause catastrophic damage to the space-time continuum and throw our universe into some sort of Nth dimensional void. The scale of damage easily suprasses God-levels.
Or, we can just tune in and watch Fox News make other cable networks get coffee for it.

She needs a bigger platform that legitimizes her, as opposed to making her an ornery citizen. Also, Sarah Palin can go on TV and present herself as eloquent and informed, undoing the damage of her early 2008 interviews. This helps her approach Huckabee supporters, as well.

Lots of people watch Fox News. Lots of Democrats and Independents watch Fox News. Those of us who pay attention all the time may not think she needs exposure, but she needs exposure.
She's a heavy hitter, and showing your face in the bright sunlight is how you put to rest the opposition's false claims about you. But I'm glad she's not doing a show a la "Huckabee", because that would be a waste of time.

Eh...I don't think so. People who hate her aren't likely to hate her more for appearing on the equally-hated Faux News. People who like her probably are either neutral or in favor of Fox, so it does no harm.
Politics is multimedia now, which explains the full-court Palin press: Twitter, Facebook, a TV gig, a book, etc. Limbaugh forged his empire in what at the time was a vast wasteland: AM Radio. But it was a huge and untapped market, and Rush pretty much single-handedly saved AM radio from oblivion. Palin is in a tougher spot: every niche has extreme competition in it, so the only way to stand out is to go broad rather than deep -- hit everything.
The danger to this approach, of course, is that of over-exposure. At some point, the constant message-sending turns into pure noise and people tune it out. But Rush has proved that this bar is much higher than you might think; he talks for three hours a day, every weekday, year in and year out; and he's more popular now than he's ever been.

Lacey, Beck's already on at 5 EST, but Beck interviewing her occasionally would send his ratings even further into the stratosphere. Last Tuesday, he did a "bond" show, with a NY econ prof, where he explained how T Bills work. He said he and his staff expected to lose their audience for good with this mind-numbing subject. His ratings beat O'Reilly, the nightly leader.
Brain waves are weird today. Beck mentioned Palin a couple times this morning. He was agonizing about not having any politician off the top of his head that he could support because of his/her integrity. Then he said, "But, if I was pressed, I guess I would say Palin."

8pm: O'Reilly (not that I like him--but it's fun knowing Olbermann seethes at the thought of O'Reilly schooling him in the ratings every night)

Once or twice a month on Saturday evening, she bumps Geraldo's show and spends an hour interviewing up and coming conservatives. Let's keep in mind that she's going to be a contributor, folks. She'll be on "regularly," like Dana Perino, but on other shows. Not her own.
(DEAR BRET BAIER: GET HER ON YOUR PANEL AT LEAST WEEKLY. If at all possible, seat her next to Charles Krauthammer. Doo eet.)
This does, however, test her out in the "pundit" arena, which seems to be where her career has been heading since 2008. If she ever ran for anything in the near future, she would be inundated with the distractions of old footage from the 2008 cycle... Only time, and biding it smartly, will make that baggage go away. If she can counteract it with a decade of successful punditry, then maybe later on she might have a chance at a national-level elected position. But she's gonna need about a 10:1 ratio of "look at how smart I am" video clips to battle off the "I'm too busy learning McCain's life story right now to have any time for a newspaper" interview footage that will surely haunt any future campaign.

That's what I would like to see. Let Hannity, Levin, Ingraham and Rush keep pounding on the dems. Palin needs to pop up a level. I'd like to see Palin do basic education, enlightenment, and spotlighting on what it means to be a conservative. Have her go on the road and introduce everyday Americans to show how hard working, patriotic, and conservative they are.

The Oprah of Conservatives: Sarah Palin.
What's it mean to be conservative? What are they like? Are they really racist homophobes? What do they care about? Are they really the "party of no?" What do conservatives believe and why is it a better than being a liberal? How can you spot a conservative? Why is limited government a good thing? How can I get involved? What can I do? Palin would be great in answering these questions by spotlighting everyday people.
The libs have brainwashed a generation and much work needs to be done. Beck has been terrific in this area. Many more people are reading the constition and are aware of Alinksy and Cloward-Piven because of his efforts. Palin can bring her charm and spotlight like no one else can and she can keep it positive and uplifting. She's plain spoken and she connects.
This could be fun to watch, if it's done right.

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has signed a multi-year deal with FOX News to serve as a contributor across all FOX News platforms, announced Bill Shine, Executive Vice President of Programming.
In making the announcement, Shine said, “Governor Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the FOX News lineup.” As a contributor, Palin will provide political commentary and analysis for FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOXNews.com, and FOX News-produced special event political programming for FOX Broadcasting.
In addition, she will host periodic episodes of FNC’s “Real American Stories,” a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape that will debut in 2010.
Palin added, “I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at FOX News. It’s wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.”

I look for her to do specials targeted to specific issues like energy, national security, taxes, states rights, etc.
I also see the LSM sending out scads of "reporter/journalists" to 'fact check' her specials. It will fun to see the networks handing out big paychecks as they come back empty-handed.

Palin, Coulter, Malkin, Cupp, Kelly, etc etc etc
Damn, Fox News might make me turn gay. Got all flustered thinking about the insane level of hotness that could possibly be on one panel.

#129, yes, I think your description would be perfect for her.
Why is everyone so sure she planned to run for office again anytime in the near future? I think she can be incredibly effective in exposing the government and helping real conservative candidates get some exposure.
If she is sincere (and I think she is), she won't need a political position for her own ego. She will effect change in the best way she can. The media may be it.
I look forward to seeing how much they utilize her.

What, do you do her dry cleaning or something and she shares these tidbits with you? Come on, give up the Romney coopting Palin fantasy. Not happening.
