— DrewM Sacred Honor Brigade hit hardest.
Haley has a 20 point lead, getting 43% of the vote. Gresham Barrett looks like the favorite for the second runoff spot. He's at 23%, followed by Henry McMaster at 16%, and Andre Bauer at 12%.Two weeks ago Haley held a 21 point lead in the race. Since then she's gained 4 points, Barrett's standing has improved by 7, McMaster's has dropped by a couple points, and Bauer's gone down a single point.
Only 13% of voters believe the allegations about Haley's marital infidelity. 54% flat out do not believe them and 33% are unsure. Haley will, however, be in trouble with voters if they ever are proven. In that case 42% think she should drop out of the race.
Thankfully, the primary is tomorrow. Unfortunately, it looks like they'll be a runoff on June 22, so still plenty of time for sour grapes and dirty tricks.

Blanche Lincoln might lose tomorrow and I'm not sure that's a good thing.
If Bill Halter is a moonbat, like people are saying, it's a good thing. But if he's running as a moderate, we'll lose that seat.

So nobody expects the Democrat candidate to win.
Whomever wins this primary is almost certainly going to be the next Governor.
Also, the conventional wisdom is that neither Haley nor McMaster are going to be able to conjure up the necessary 50% primary vote to avoid a run-off.

--Bill Clinton was down there for Blanche
--Clinton 'blasted' outside liberal groups and unions for interfering and supporting Halter.
So if Blanche loses, Clinton has no more yank in his home state. That's big.And it's rare for any Democrat, especially Clinton, to take on moveon & kos and Big Union.

I don't think Folks was really working for anyone. I bet someone in Bauers campaign remembered his hinting that he banged Haley. And someone greenlighted the urging him to release the information. Probably with the promise of being very grateful once she's out of the race. After he releases his "proof" they have an oh shit moment and realized he didn't have any real evidence. So they get the bright idea of having another accuser come out and claim a one night stand, which really by definition has no hard proof. It just relies on the speculation of the first accusation of an affair to hold up.

Now that I think about it, the Arkansas Democratic primary is a proxy fight for Democratic factions. It has little to do with who gets to represent Arkansas in the Senate. Whoever wins is getting thrown out on his or her ass in November, unless the GOP really fucks it up; and I don't see that happening in this state at this time.

Interesting to note she actually picked up even more points by the same polling outfit. The only thing that worries me is I don't think polls are very accurate for primaries. Still 40 points is pretty convincing.
ON a side note I found that there will be two questions on the Republican ballot tommorrow.
1. Do you want to get rid of the State law that requires open primaries? and..
2. Do you want to get rid of the State law that requires a 75% majority if you hold a convention?

Vic, my guess is that the state law demanding open primaries is a Civil Rights era thingy.
Say you were black in 1956. You know that the general election has been a farce, year after year, since 1876. All you can hope is for a nonracist to win the Demo primary. So you show up to that, and then the precinct good-ol'-boy laughs in your face, "you ain't no Democrat, boy; ain't seen you in the meetings". Which is true, minus the assholery.
But with this law, you go in and tell the asshole, "so what if I am a Republican". Then the federal troops posted there, under related laws, glance over in your direction. You go in and vote for the liberal.
As for this law nowadays, we're agreed it's about time they retired it.

The P47 was large, fat, fast in a dive, well-armored, and well-armed. One thing it was NOT, though, is beautiful. Nor was it's range very good even with tanks, it couldn't reach Germany. Only the Mustang could escort bombers all teh way from England prior to Normandy.
Don't get me wrong, I think the P47 is a great plane, but it's not all that and a bag of chips.
The P61 Black Widow is a beautiful plane. The Mustang (models P51D and later) and p38 are beautiful planes. Spitfire, Typhoon, Tempest, all nice to look at. Even the Bf109 is a decent looking plane. FW190 is a bit ugly. So's the Hurricane and the Yak 9. ME 262 just looks like a flying shark, so that's cool.
None of that is a comment on teh usefulness and quality of teh plane as a fighter (except the range issue), just aesthetics.

You mean that brick that only outperformed the enemy in a dive and the amount of lead it could carry? Sorry despite whatever combat success it did have, it was neither beautiful nor fine as you judge an aircraft. I'll stay in the P-38 fan club.

I think both of these gents stayed above the fray. None of the accusers - Folks, Knotts, or the others I can't remember - worked for either. But I think McMaster stepped in a few days back by urging Haley to not respond anymore to the accusations.

Good for McMaster. I don't agree with him on certain policy points, but at least he understands this shit does not deserve serious attention or response beyond what already was given.

I happened to watch a show on the P-38 last night which talked about Richard Bong so my post was less for or against the P-47 than it was about an American Hero.
From what I've seen on the Jug it was like the modern A-10 Warthog. Got lots of pilots home with battle damage that would have downed most planes.

Kindly disagree. Dude is a reactionary spaz. He's always having to clarify his posts. And he doesn't explain his error. Many times he just updates it w/no explanation as to what he got wrong.
In his quest to be first, many times he is wrong.

January 30th, 1944 Northern Italy. "Herky" Green and his flight of "Jugs" encounter a group of Ju-52s and Green proceeds to down four. Minutes later he engages a Macchi 202 in a low-level fight and bags kill number 5. On the return leg "Herky" encounters a Dornier Do-217, shoots it down, and raises his day's total to 6 kills. It may be hard to believe but more Americans became Aces while flying the P-47 than any other fighter during WW2

Jolted by the devastation in the Gulf of Mexico but still certain that offshore oil drilling is key to American energy independence, U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham says he advocates strong new safety measures, topped by requiring relief wells for deep-water exploration.
Never let a crisis go to waste. We haven't finished the investigation but already we need new and more stricter regulation.

I voted today and didn't see either of those on my ballot, but I did see two different resolutions:
1. Should SC pass a law protecting people from Obamacare?
2. Should SC amend the constitution to peg state spending increases to the lower of either per capita income or population growth plus inflation?
I wonder if these questions are ones that local candidates have moved to have placed on the ballot.
