— Ace Not surprising.
Washington insiders say he will quit within six to eight months in frustration at their unwillingness to "bang heads together" to get policy pushed through....
"I would bet he will go after the midterms," said a leading Democratic consultant in Washington. "Nobody thinks it's working but they can't get rid of him – that would look awful. He needs the right sort of job to go to but the consensus is he'll go."
An official from the Bill Clinton era said that "no one will be surprised" if Mr Emanuel left after the midterm elections in November, when the Democratic party will battle to save its majorities in the house of representatives and the senate.
It is well known in Washington that arguments have developed between pragmatic Mr Emanuel, a veteran in Congress where he was known for driving through compromises, and the idealistic inner circle who followed Mr Obama to the White House.
By "pragmatic" they mean pragmatic, but they also mean dirty -- not that the Chicago Pol at the Resolute Desk needs much schooling on that.
Sarah Palin, incidentally, attacked Emmanuel for saying Joe Barton had expressed the GOP philosophy :
RahmEmanuel= as shallow/narrowminded/political/irresponsible as they come,to falsely claim Barton's BP comment is "GOP philosophy"Rahm,u lie

Darrell Issa said that when they take over the House and he becomes chair of the ethics committee that they were going to issue the shit out of subpeonas..
..Twinkletoes is potentially pretty exposed on a lot of suspect activity and I'm sure there are some Jackassocrats who didn't appreciate having their arms twisted by him for their votes..

I don't think Rahm twisted as many arms as all that. He was famously quoted as being disappointed that the White House didn't offer a scaled-back health care proposal that the Dems in Congress could more easily vote for. I think the arm-twisting was mostly on Pelosi and Reid.
Remember that Rahm architected the takeback of the House for the Democrats in 2006. He's got to be sick to his stomach at how the Obama Administration has thrown all his hard work into the crapper.

I always found that quote by Rahm to be suspiscious....I think he learned the triangulation tactic while working with the Clintons..

...and remember the naked shower molestation incident where Rahm poked Massa with his ..uh.. finger and lectured him about his stance on the helathcare scam?
Something, by the way, Rahm has never denied

Although he did not have an MBA degree or prior banking experience, he became a managing director at the firmÂ’s Chicago office in 1999 and, according to Congressional disclosures, made $16.2 million in his two-and-a-half-years as a banker. At Wasserstein Perella, he worked on eight deals, including the acquisition by Commonwealth Edison of Peco Energy and the purchase by GTCR Golder Rauner of the SecurityLink home security unit from SBC Communications.
Emanuel was named to the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) by President Bill Clinton in 2000. His position earned him at least $320,000, including later stock sales. He was not assigned to any of the board's working committees, and the Board met no more than six times per year.
During his time on the board, Freddie Mac was plagued with scandals involving campaign contributions and accounting irregularities. The Obama Administration rejected a request under the Freedom of Information Act to review Freddie Mac board minutes and correspondence during Emanuel's time as a director.
So, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are places where favored insider and cronies go to get pay-offs. Jamie Gorelick did the same thing. Remember Hillary Clinton's cattle futures "trades"? This is how these scumbags make all their money in politics. Rahm Emanuel makes Hillary Clinton look like an amateur.

"Now Rahm wants to be mayor of Chicago. Great. He'll go from being part of a gang screwing up the country to being the top gangster screwing up a city."
The appalling fact is that he may well be the best man for the job - given that the alternatives are Luis Gutierrez and Jesse Jackson Jr.

And yes, I do believe that Hillary is sitting back, waiting, for the right moment to have a foreign policy disagreement and walk out. Then, she can hit the campaign trail, tell everyone she was right about the 3:00 a.m. call and make life hell for Obama. Then Bill may actually come clean on the Stupak deal.
Nah, doesn't even need to be foreign policy. It can be domestic. Just wait and see how completely he fucks up the oil spill. I can see Hillary saying that with Obama's domestic agenda being so terrible she can no longer in good conscious continue with the foriegn side. Something must be done to fix the domestic mess and she is just the one to do it.

It ought to be quite funny to watch Obama kick his own ass.
