Rasmussen: Barbara Boxer Can't Break 50% Against Any of Her Opponents
— Ace

She's still ahead of each -- but she's the incumbent, and an incumbent who can't break 50% is in trouble.

Oh -- and she's only barely ahead of her opponents:

Rasmussen found Boxer barely leading Republican challenger Carly Fiorina, 46-42, the same margin as January but down from a 10-point lead in September. Boxer beats former congressman Tom Campbell by the same four-point margin, 45-41, the same as in January when he jumped into the race, and is ahead of state Assemblyman Chuck Devore by only five points, 47-42, down from her November lead of 10 points and January's 46-40 spread.

Hot damn. Look at Chuck Devore there!

4 Fiorina is the best bet...

...I sure wish CPAC would run a commercial showing the clips of Boxer being called a racist (by an African American) and her demanding that a General call her Senator instead of Maam. California voters need to be reminded of these things.

California is the most likely of the possibles.

Wisconsin, Washington, New York all become more serious with more serious candidates.

btw- Fiorina supports cap n trade- which we already fucking have here in California- its called AB32.

I would rather bite my left hand off and vote for Campbell than vote for that bullshit.

BTW, if the undecideds rule breaks true like it did for Virginia and Massachusetts, then currently Fiorina would barely beat boxer including all allocated undecideds, Campbell would too, and DeVore would lose by 1.5 points.

NINE MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTION, this is bad for Babs.

I'm so amused that both my lawn mower and my new tv have labels that say, "Not to be sold in California". What if I moved there, god forbid, would the green police come and get me? They probably would take my lawn mower.

How did a state that size get taken over by such douchebags? Nevermind, it's just "ahead".

14

This is a case wher TEA people can make a play.  McCain and Romney seem to be sending GOP money to Fiorina and Christy.  They are trying to move state races to Big Government Repubs.

The key would be financially supporting the conservatives.  Marco Rubio and DeVore.  They will have to spend three to one to accomodate this.

Same with Boxer.  Make them spend their cash.

This would also be a good lesson as to why TEA people should not third party.  A third party throws this to Boxer.  Devore offers hope to many right side parties.

I send my money to individuals not the RNC.  I did send them a little after the Brown win.

I would even send a couple bicks to the girl from D'Impanema except giving a leftist a CC number is a bad idea.

Damn I'm going to enjoy voting against Baghdad Barbara Boxer this fall.

She only slipped in to the seat in 1992 because her Republican "family values" conservative opponent was embarassed by a just before election revelation that he'd visited a strip club of some kind.   That never seems to effective Democrat candidates (see John Edwards) but Boxer's people made great hay of this slip from grace--and she got in.

Once a Democrat is in office in California it takes another San Francisco earthquake to shake them out of it.   See Nancy Pelosi.  But a guy can hope.

26 Please, Californians, PLEASE take part in the Citizen Legislature Project - nobody seems to be talking about this - from the website - "The Citizen Legislature Act is a constitutional amendment initiative which outlines a legislative session, which will convene in regular session on the first Monday in January of each year for a period not to exceed 30 calendar days. The Legislature will then reconvene in regular session on the first Monday in May for a period not to exceed 60 calendar days and 5 days thereafter to consider bills vetoed by the Governor. The Act also reduces legislative pay by at least 50% and can only be increased through cost of living adjustments." Man, if we can do this (and we can, if the Scott Brown results in Mass. are any indication) what a shock to the system that would be. Registered voters please go here - www.reformcal.com

all three of them have their drawbacks, all three have their advantages.

Campbell- Negative- worked with Ahnold on that tax increase. Wants to increase gas taxes

Positive- his pro gay, pro choice social positions decimate Boxers default accusation of "you are anti woman and a homophobe" that riles up her supporters. No vicious bogeyman, no enthusiasm from her base.

Postive- big name recognition.

Fiorina- Negatives: horrible campaign ads. bad history with HP. Supports CapNTrade.

Positives- could literally buy Barbara Boxer, double breast cancer survivor would make Boxers default "anti woman" accusations at best seem silly and at worst seem downright cruel, backfiring on her instantly. Polls strongly.

DeVore-Negatives: least name recognition state wide, probably too conservative for much of the state. Least funded, worst polling.

Positives- the true conservative he would rally those voters turned off since 1994 here. Also his attacks on Cap N Trade would win over crucial low and mid income voters dependent upon transportation/manufacturing/shipping jobs who make up much of San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties. NO liberal votes to tar him with.

Pick your poison.

Send Chuck some dough.  McCain will have to send Carly  ten times that.  He cannot afford it it.  He is going to struggle to assure his seat.  Likewise the dems are going to have to spend big to hold this seat.

Rubio in Florida is unbeatable if he doesn't Macaca.  The GOP will waste cash supprting Christ and have to support Rubio in the end.

If you want to break big  government.  Make them spend their cash on tight races.
