Rasmussen: Rubio Jumps +5 Points Out Ahead of Crist (?)
— Ace

This could be one of those one-in-twenty bad polls, as no one else has anything like this (and Rasmussen hasn't found Rubio ahead for a long time).

But-- they have it Rubio 38, Crist 33, Meeks 21.

(That's also a much higher level of support for Meeks than anyone else has found.)

Thanks to Shooter McGavin.

I think the Dems Meeks and Greene are the wildcards here, if it's Rubio, Crist, Greene, then Rasmussen shows Crist with a +1 over Rubio.

Still, that's closer than it was, and encouraging.

23 If Crist becomes the de facto Democrat candidate, shouldn't we expect his support to drop and/or move to take on Meeks's votes as people start to pay more attention to the race?

Rubio 38, Crist 33, Meeks 21

Would mean the Democrats are garnering 54% of the vote against a good Republican candidate, in a Republican state, in a Republican year. Which seems really odd to be any measure of the real world.

For example, have there been many polls as to whether people know Crist is running as an "independent" with outreach from Obama?

O/T but in line with what I was saying about "hating the poor":  Obama has apparently cut 11.9 billion from the food stamp program...that and higher taxes on businesses is what will be paying for this teacher union bailout thingy.

Ordinarily I don't like the idea of food stamps -- but as of late I've seen people (people I know to be decent and hardworking, who've never asked for a handout in their lives) who are really in dire straights, and the local food pantry and church soup kitchens have seen an uptick in turnout...and they may have to shutter their doors because they aren't getting even half of the charitable donations they got even a year ago.   I don't like seeing my peeps in this condition.  I especially don't like seeing them suffer so the frakking Dems can stroke their damn teacher's unions to roll out the vote for them.  grrrrr

Obama hates poor people!  Let them eat cake!  Who cares if poor little urchins are reduced to eating from dumpsters!

Osama Obama is showing fiscal responsibility, you know.

I can't help but think about how many people could be fed on the cost of his (and Ma'm Obama's) constant vacations, never mind the number who wouldn't be facing starvation if the Traitor-in-Chief wasn't allowed to pander to his pet union thugs.

Until this year, I was closer to the usual knee-jerk "conservative" line that claims everyone who wants work can find it, and those who accept help are lazy, TV-watching parasites.

Now I know better. I'm still charitable enough to hope that those who think the poor are all lazy losers don't have to correct their thoughts the way I have....

-->Ordinarily I don't like the idea of food stamps -- but as of late I've seen people (people I know to be decent and hardworking, who've never asked for a handout in their lives) who are really in dire straights, and the local food pantry and church soup kitchens have seen an uptick in turnout...and they may have to shutter their doors because they aren't getting even half of the charitable donations they got even a year ago.

The key is that food stamps (and all related social spending) are state responsibilities.  The federal government shouldn't be mucking around in such expenditures.

And charitable donations are down, in large part, because of the assault that The Precedent and his junta launched against private charitable donations.  The Indonesian Imbecile even argued the fairness of a flat tax, in order to attack private charitable donations - remember how he said that it was "unfair" that those in higher tax brackets get to benefit disproportionately from their charitable donations because they are deducted at higher rates (due to the highly progressive/offensive tax rate schedule that the dems argue is "fair").

There's nothing that can be done to change the junta's attitude about this, so private charities are going to be hit, no matter what.  The junta wants to starve the private charities out, so that only the feral government decides who deserves "charity".

-->Obama hates poor people!  Let them eat cake!  Who cares if poor little urchins are reduced to eating from dumpsters!

Posted by: unknown jane at August 11, 2010 12:20 PM (5/yRG)

That's exactly what the Indonesian Imbecile said when he announced to America (during one of the primary debates) that he would raise capital gains taxes, even if it was assumed to result in reduced revenues to the government, because it was more important to punish the successful (for "fairness") than to fund any programs he claimed were so essential for the poor.

As I always say, America knew exactly who this retard was.

I've always wondered why the poll numbers for Rubio were so high right up until Crist turned tail on the GOP. Ever since, even though he's wildly popular down here, he trails The Orange One in most polls.

I just don't get it. I also smell just a little BS.

Crist is a prime example of the type of people we Do. Not. Want. In. Washington. Shirley you don't think he actually gives a shit about the people and what we want, do you? If he did, would have quit the GOP when he was so far behind Rubio? Methinks not.

There is no cut in food stamps; there is a promise to cut food stamps down the road when the Republicans are in office.

So the Republicans will be faced with the choice of cutting food stamps, increasing the deficit, or raising taxes; all of which the Dems will scream and blame them for.

Yeah it's easy to see how they are creating the stink. Here is the headline at Fox which is really AP.

Democrats, Advocacy Groups Blast Cuts to Food Stamps to Fund $26B Aid Bill

It isn't until the 8th paragraph that you find out that the "cuts" are not until 2014 and they only take it to "pre-stimulus" levels which were advertised as "temporary" for the economy but the Dems are now admitting were really permanent.

Nope, the whole thing is another double whammy strategy by the commies. First lie about the 26B budget buster and also set up the Republicans for a fall in 2014.
