I see nothing in there on abortion, so it's official that Nancy has thrown the Stupak 12 under the bus.
I don't see the special deals explicitly eliminated, either, but maybe that's in the fine print.

from pity's link
Sec. 1401. High-cost plan excise tax. Reduces the revenue collected by the tax by 80 percent. This is achieved by: delaying the application of the tax until 2018, which gives the plans time to implement and realize the cost savings of reform; increasing the dollar thresholds to $10,200 for single coverage and $27,500 for family coverage ($11,850 and $30,950 for retirees and employees in high risk professions); excluding stand-alone dental and vision plans from the tax; and permitting an employer to reduce the cost of the coverage when applying the tax if the employerÂ’s age and gender demographics are not representative of the age and gender demographics of a national risk pool. Under the modified provision, the dollar thresholds are indexed to inflation and the dollar thresholds are automatically increased in 2018 if CBO is wrong in its forecast of the premium inflation rate between now and 2018.
Sec. 1408. Elimination of unintended application of cellulosic biofuel producer credit. Adds an additional revenue provision. In 2008, Congress enacted a $1.01 per gallon tax credit for the production of biofuel from cellulosic feedstocks in order to encourage the development of new production capacity for biofuels that are not derived from food source materials. Congress is aware that some taxpayers are seeking to claim the cellulosic biofuel tax credit for unprocessed fuels, such as black liquor. The provision would limit eligibility for the tax credit to processed fuels (i.e., fuels that could be used in a car engine or in a home heating application
Huh?

Perks (sec 1201-Nebraska Medicaid matching), add-ons (sec. 2101 et seq re Pell Grants and other student financial assistance and sec 1408 re biofuels) and overall nutbaggery (sec. 1101 re closing medicare drug donut hole)
Sounds about right to me.

He's encouraging Priority mail (which, if sent today, should get there on Saturday), as well as FedEx and UPS. It's actually a pretty good idea; not only is it another avenue to reach the "undecideds" and the truly waverings, it stands a chance to completely immobilize the mail system up there. They'll have to sort out an actual constituent letter from a $5 Kos contribution.

Section 2102. Student Financial Assistance. This section provides $13.5 billion in mandatory appropriations to the Federal Pell Grant program.
Section 2103. College Access Challenge Grant Program. 44 Honestly, WTF does student loans have to do with HCR? This is just ridiculous. Posted by: carin
There's bound to be some juicy stuff in that part also. Like community service to "pay off" student loans. They may have just really f-ed up by linking the two.

1201. Strikes the provision for a permanent 100% federal matching rate for Nebraska for the Medicaid costs of newly eligible individuals. Provides federal Medicaid matching payments for the costs of services to newly eligible individuals at the following rates in all states

Check out the pork for Hispanic and Black colleges.
Posted by: arhooley at March 18, 2010 10:47 AM (8iLXV)
Yeah, I can just IMAGINE what that "community service" would consist of. I'm thinking a great deal of altruistic ferrying of corpses to polling places.
Posted by: Filly at March 18, 2010 10:48 AM (onwJ3)
Shouldn't that give these idiots an inkling of where their little sweetheart deals will go the moment it's expedient? No wait, they're Democrats and therefore dummies.

I guess it also makes "sense" politically -- even if the Senate screws them and just forwards their POS straight to Dear Leader's desk, the representatives can say they voted in favor of the whole enchilada-- education "reform" and all.
Posted by: bullfrog at March 18, 2010 10:50 AM (g+3Ca)
So...someone put me some knowledge....
Doesn't this alter the senate bill to the point that reconcilliation is no longer possible?
Posted by: mrshad at March 18, 2010 10:51 AM (FcLua)
Posted by: joncelli at March 18, 2010 10:51 AM (RD7QR)
Yes, which means the Senate bill is IT. There will be no reconciliation; there will only be the Senate bill.
Posted by: arhooley at March 18, 2010 10:56 AM (8iLXV)
"Oy. They think they can pull it off."
They don't & won't have the votes. This is to force the undecideds out, so they can focus their strong arm tactics.

They think they can pull it off.
If they were competent in running a government, they'd know for sure. They would have been certain two weeks ago.
The good news is that if this is all theater, then this shit salad goes in the trash for another tewlve years.
The bad news in that case would be that the people running the United States government betray themselves to the world as being lousy players in a friendly trillion-dollar-ante game. That's chump change to our foes.

Well, they either think that:
a. They have the votes to pass Obamacare. . .or
b. They *probably* have the votes to pass it, or
c. Whether or not they're OK with their whip counts, they think that this is their realistic best shot and they want to just finish this one way or another.
My money is on c.

Gov't is going to decide who can to go to med school and who can't. MCAT? Irrelevant.
Posted by: HeatherRadish at March 18, 2010 11:03 AM (mR7mk)
Yea. I see how this is going to affect health care.
Did I mention they're going to decide who gets to go to medical school?

no f*cking joke! I hope you like being treated -- when you eventually get treatment -- by someone who checked the exact right combination of the twenty zillion grievance boxes on their federal student loan apps.
Basically, take every horror story you've ever heard about Britain's NHS and then triple-size it and get it cranked on crystal meth, because here in America we don't do things half-assed.

ok. health care is so important cuz so many are being tonsil'd and de footed, but lots of crap is inclded, so how much are they spending on education ,taking from those greedy selling home owner to give for college degrees ?

What. The. FUCK.??
This bill is chock full of more waste for things totally unrelated to "health care reform". Just think, if this passes it will be incorporated into whatever finalized ObamaCare bill they concoct.
Posted by: SFC MAC at March 18, 2010 11:21 AM (RPkOk)
So if they included the Cornhusker kickback to all the states, then this thing is no where near deficit netural, and doesn't that kill the reconciliation process of having to reduce the deficit?

IRS has the authority to fine you up to $2,250 or 2 percent of your income (whichever is greater) for failure to prove that you have purchased “minimum essential coverage;”
IRS can confiscate your tax refund; What could go wrong?

Posted by: Dang at March 18, 2010 02:41 PM (UA4gE)
Vowels as stand-alone letters were just a mistake the Greeks made when they adapted the Semitic alphabet, anyway. It's about time someone fixed that.
