Just breaking according to NBC.
Shahzad Faisal is apparently the genius who used his own email account to set up the buy. Sometimes you get lucky that evil bastards are stupid.
Sounds like a home grown guy. He's of Pakistani heritage but sounds like he was born and raised in CT (FNC says he's a naturalized citizen). Arrested on LI at JFK. No word about his stance on Arizona's immigration law or his political donations.
Congrats to the NYPD, FBI and the whole NY JTTF.
Heads up from Andy Levy.

don't forget they tried to say it was a middle aged white guy, trying to move to lack of support teabaggers, not supportive of Obamas statists moves.
they tried and failed, keep our heads on straight, it's a tough time, don't let them draw blood from our side.

They believe that the financial system is sooooo far gone, that a world war consisting of major human casualty is the only thing that will bring back a semblance of stability. Consequently, the need to orchestrate a longer war against Pakistan, Terrorism, Iran , Europe anything, ANYTHING, to blow the system up and get it back to ground zero is of primary import. This goes toward finding the "terrorist Pakistani Taliban" culpable to further the false flag descent into WWIII. OMG!! in otherwords. But, BUT, Its really Israel and the Mossad!!
It, in otherwords, is Goldman's fault.
Just thought I'd point all this out, in case you might frequent the joint and wonder what others think.

I don't think they commonly arrest people leaving the country. I've crossed in to TJ from San Diego and a stern looking and militarily armed person comes aboard and gives everyone the wooly eye, then we proceed to the Bus station downtown where you can buy beers on ice for the trip to the front door of the Rosarito Beach Hotel...used to be fun.
Now you need a passport...
Yes you need a passport to go to Mexico for the DAY!
Coming back with your head attached seems optional.
It used to be fun....
We should inspect on BOTH sides of the Border. Maybe we could catch people trying to leave..
There is no inspection leaving the USA....

There were three occasions I can remember where Feds were waiting for someone at the airport and specifically let them board the plane and pull away before making the arrest. I don't know why but it was SOP.
Once they even let the plane take off. Guy was smuggling drugs - the DEA searched the bag in the terminal before I trucked it to the plane and it had 4 kilos in it. I thought "cool, get to watch a take-down", but the DEA agent told me to make sure it got on the right plane and that DEA agents were awaiting him in Miami where they could add additional trafficking charges.

There's no question the plane, Emirates 202, left the gate and returned. You can hear JFK Tower quickly recall the plane in the archives at liveatc.net. I'm not allowed to directly link to it under the website's rules, but if you go to http://liveatc.net/archive.php, select May 4 on the calendar, "KJFK Tower" in the dropdown next to "Select a Feed" and "0300-0330 Zulu" in the dropdown next to "Select a time (GMT/UTC)", the JFK Tower audio from around 11:30PM last night will come up.
Around 1/4 of the way in, the tower first instructs Emirates 202 to get in position for takeoff, then quickly tells the pilot to disregard that, make a left and return to the gate.
The only question is whether the suspect was still on the plane or it returned to the gate out of caution to check out the other passengers. In his statement, AG Holder claimed the suspect "was taken into custody at JFK Airport in New York as he attempted to board a flight to Dubai." Yet the Washington Post is still reporting that the plane was heading toward the runway with Faisal Shahzad on board.

One of the Fox security contributors said the same thing and he specifically blamed it on Obama because they were not carrying the fight to the [foreign] terrorists. His major point was that this and the underwear bomber were BOTH failures. In both cases the bomb failed to detonate because it was put together wrong. Not because of any kind of good "police work".
Believe it or not the asshole who was some kind of law enforcement dude who was on the phone at the time said he disagreed (rather vehemently). He said this was home grown terrorism like OK city and the beltway sniper. This because the guy was a naturalized citizen. Trouble is he was a Pakistani who had been naturalized just last year. IOW he came here to infiltrate and do this shit.
Watch that be the meme from the Obamanites now. Although it is not a teabagger its home grown because the guy is a "citizen".

What a blog. I hadn't read it in a while, but Daily Beast is pretty damn nasty. Bunch of kooky commenters whining about Faux News without actually naming any specific problems, some idiot sweating the USA gave Iraq WMDs, and a bunch of people cheering Ahmedinijad and complaining that Bush said he was evil.
But what's really cute is how so many of them keep pointing out that the system worked great and they are so thankful for all the 'invisible' ones who protect us from terrorism. Same folks who bash Bush, in that very thread, for his much better record on this issue, are thanking Obama's feds for their third massive terrorist attack they let slip through to American soil. No one seems to mind that Obama's people are focused like a laser on tea party grandmas and pretending the threat from actual terrorism isn't a big deal. The idea that this attack on Times Square would be a logical attack against the US Government rather than the US in general is so ignorant, too.
Anyway, they seem to actually love Ahmedinijad. "sure, he's a murderer, but he's right" and then a bunch of 'Why is the USA so much better than Iran, why would Israel need nuclear weapons but Iran can't have any?'.
UGHGUGH. I'd comment over there, but of course, registration firewall I'm not going to bother with.

Good idea, although I dunno if you can legally do it.
The terrorists are great in gaming our system, even though it's real easy to do. Laura Bush suspected poisoning at G8 summit
In her memoir “Spoken From the Heart,” Bush said that she and her husband fell violently ill on the second day of the summit in the exclusive Baltic Sea resort.
“Exceedingly alarmed, the Secret Service went on full alert, combing the resort for potential poisons,” wrote Bush according to the news website Politico. “The overriding fear was that terrorists had gotten control of a dangerous substance and planted it at the resort.”n addition to the president and his wife, other members of the US delegation became ill, including one staff member who suffered permanent hearing loss.
No poison was ever found, but sounds suspicious.
The comments show the typical leftist class. Such as:"I wish this had been reported at the time of the incident. It would have given many hope for the future..."

Pretty much sums up my feelings. I'm sick of all the bike lanes that make it no less dangerous to ride a bicycle here. All the new one-way streets to keep the traffic along waterways at a minimum and keep his developer friends happy. Public spaces are poorly maintained. Access to anything decent means you're buying a ticket, even if it's Shakespeare in the Park (which is supposed to be free to the public.) The city is strapped for cash, and you have the very rich -- what's left of them -- and a lot of people dependent on government.

Well, all angels will be exhausted before the media drops this story like a hot potato. If it's not teabagger/Sarah Palin=Timothy McVeigh meme driven, then buh bye story.
Terrorism schmeriorrism.
There's no Islamic terrorism going on... No way.
The only terror that counts is the horrid free speech directed at the democrat party.

Immigration policies....inviting Muslim world to relocate to U.S.
I wonder if he was part of O's Muslim outreach to Muslim businesses to relocate to U.S.
Immigration from those countries should be opened if, and only if, they allow and protect Christian churches, Jewish synagogues, etc.
Immigration from those countries should be opened if, and only if, they allow the women of their country to come out of the dark, 6th-century shadows.

LOL, I find it "ironic" that there was a lot of info out there a year ago and the 'nets have now been sanitized.

"Sounds like a home grown guy. He's of Pakistani heritage but sounds like he was born and raised in CT"
You might want to re-examine that statement. Apparently he was just naturalized last year and grew up in Pakistan, not here in CT as was reported.

IT'S A TEXTBOOK MOSSAD OPERATION.
You know, that's way more logical than anything Andi's ever said about Palin's girlbits.

BTW, happy Cinco de Quatro, everyone! I think this is Obama's new holiday where you drink a fifth on the fourth, but I'm not entirely clear on it...

So is this guy "home grown"? Seems like an import to me. It's a shame that we cannot ban immigration from certain countries. Alas political correctness triumphs over good sense.

Geez, you'd think that maybe a War on Terror would be appropriate right about now. I don't know; just sayin'.
By the way, does crossing the Hudson count as "overseas" in Overseas Contingency Operations? Technically it's not a river that far south. It's an estuary which surely contains sea water, so I guess it could be. We needn't rile up the ignorant masses with inflammatory talk of a so-called war.

The new MFM meme will be that this poor guy just wanted to be an American citizen but he was driven to this by the discrimination that he was forced to endure in this Islamophobic country.

Bloomberg should be out of a job this morning. As someone noted above, his bizarre proclamation last night revealed either a coward, a fool or the most opportunistic pol in history.

NO. He lived in Shelton. Bridgeport was an empty apt. just right for meetings and staging.

Well, this is the end of this story -- since the SUV bomber is not, as Mayor Bloomberg and most of the MSM stated, a white, middle-class, tea-partying male Rush fan --- the story it has lost its legs.
Allow liberals, lefties and commies everywhere a day of mourning, and then we will pass on to other, more important topics -- like Sandra Bullock's marriage, or something.

Must be some legal reason why they waited until he was physically on the plane, strapped in and ready to go . . .
Yeah, they were hoping some citizen on the plane would make the arrest for them before he tried to set his crotch on fire over NYC.
I'm sure Obambi will immediately issue an executive order telling Holder to get this terroist a lawyer before we get any good intel - (as soon as he finishes his waffle.)

Well said. That simple policy would insure that we would never have to take any of them in ever again. If only we would then have the good sense to follow up with deportations...

The government needs to dig deep into this.
For instance: Where did he buy the gasoline that was in the Pathfinder? Who refined it? Who provided the oil that was turned into this weaponized chemical?
Those are the real villains.

"Jonas Brothers are here, they're out there somewhere. Sasha and Malia are huge fans, but boys, don't get any ideas. Two words for you: predator drones. You will never see it coming. You think I'm joking?" Barack Obama
Spit. I don't think there's a damn thing the least bit funny about that. First, because he uses his own daughters as set-ups. Second, using weapons against American citizens to enforce some sort of morality (though freely practiced the last time a Democrat was in the White House - see Waco, TX for details) and hardly the least bit funny.

That was the oddest "joke" I have heard out of Washington. Not only did the Indonesian Imbecile use his young daughters as a set-up, but that he dragged the Jonas brothers into it for no reason, at all. After all, who the hell would have any interest in his daughters, anyway. I think this was a retarded attempt to do a joke like Scott Brown did about his daughters, but Brown's joke was obviously in good fun, his daughters are grown up and hot, and Scott Brown didn't drag anyone else into that. If I were the Jonas brothers, I'd sue for defamation.
I thought the Indonesian Imbecile's whole routine at the neo-Pravda dinner was as lame as one could imagine. I don't know what anyone thought was funny about any of it.

"Amateur" applies to Naturalized US Citizens from Pakistan and Arabia on their first cowardly tries to terrorize America committing Muslim mayhem and murder on passers by in public city streets.
Kudos that the FBI got the plane to turn around with the culprit(s).
Exactly what was promised the terrorists to get them to immediately spill their beans? Immunity.
Whereas, a bird in hand is worth more than 3 in the bush.

Agree. I don't find the drone part offensive, but his daughters are, like, EIGHT YEARS OLD, and that's just disgusting. I don't have much use for the Jonas Brothers, but I'm fairly sure they're not pedophiles.

From what one of the LEOs said last night they had agents on the plane and allowed him to board purposely. They wanted to see if he had any accomplices with him on the plane.
There was never any possibility that the plane would have actually left.

From stuff Hollywood does involving things I am familiar with they never get ANYTHING right. All this ignorance yet most people get all of their historical and scientific education from them.
Not to counting the afor-mentioned legal knowledge.

Since even advertisers have shied away from glibly repeating "deserve" in commercials since the economy's belly up, only the slowest learner imbeciles repeat the word "deserve"--that "they" or "we" deserve what they/we get.
I don't "deserve" paying for illegal aliens to get a free ride to organize crime in the US. I certainly don't "deserve" Obama in the Oval Office, having fought against his authoritarian Marxism since he first flirted to enter the potus campaign. But I don't bitch with the phrase using "deserve" because the only means of combating our corrupt government is in upholding the Constitution and DEMANDING that ALL government officials be held accountable for conducting their duties according to the Constitution and their OFFICIAL job description, NOT accepting the status quo of corruption.
If NY or even the bastardly San Francisco gets bombed or terrorized, the rest of us are directly affected, PARTICULARLY in the response that the rest of us must assume.
WE PAY FOR WHAT OTHERS "DESERVE".
"I was building a house. I don't deserve to die like this." William Munny got it right, "Deserve's got nothing to do with it." Unforgiven, "I'll see you in hell." "Yeah. I'm gonna kill any man I see out there. Any man takes a shot at me, I'm gonna kill him, his wife, all his friends, and burn his damn house down. Nobody better shoot."
Posted by: maverick muse at May 04, 2010 06:33 AM (H+LJc)
That was the oddest "joke" I have heard out of Washington.
In true Obama style, the joke was all about himself. Let's analyze:
Kevin Jonas is married and Joe is in a relationship, so this remark must be directed at Nick, the youngest. Nick is not only a member of Jonas Brothers; he's also the frontman for his own band called Nick Jonas and the Administration. The band, you see, is an Administration (capital A) but it isn't Obama's, so the president feels threatened by a competitor, by someone who had the audacity to put together his own Administration.
Besides, the Constitution only provides for one Executive Branch, and Obama has a sworn duty to command the military in its defense.

maverick muse, #405: Of all the asshat words people have latched onto, first in commercials and then in political ads and finally in punditry, DESERVE takes the cake and eats it, too.
+1, mm. I've been saying that for years.
(FAULT, when used to assign culpability, takes second place.)

Progressoverpeace ..., after watching those fat blowhards, Charlie Rangel and Sheila Jackson Lee, demagoguing the immigration illegal aliens issue at a rally organized by Communist Latino labor union members in NYC televised on C-Span last night, and after watching with contempt and with disgust as moronic Latino labor union leaders spouted their vitriolic threats to take over the USA and to take it back from the white people who stole it from their ancestors, I'm almost, though not quite tempted yet to reconsider your ideas about inciting an insurrection by white people.
With Obama in the White House now and with the Black Caucus controlling the House Of Representatives, those damned fools are drunk with power, suffering from a delusion that they are now in charge. What assholes.
