And a top item on the Obama agenda goes down...
White House officials have told the Justice Department to consider other venues for the 9/11 terror trial that was to be held in lower Manhattan, the Daily News has learned.
It's not a done deal yet and this clowns could double down on stupid but this isn't exactly how the day after the State of the Union was supposed to go.
If they are looking for suggestions, might I suggest this naval base we have in Cuba? I hear it's lovely there this time of year.
Seriously, what city is going to take this after NY says no and succeeds in standing up to Obama? They are going to have to move it out a regular federal court house and onto a military base or something.
Bold prediction: Everyone stays at Gitmo and no one is tried during Obama's term. When a sensible President is elected, it's back to military courts. Or they all die of old age before anyone really deals with it.

So with 59/60 Senators, a big majority in the House, the President, and the media, the lefties couldn't find a way to move the terrorists to the US for a trial. It is like they are trying to advance an extreme position most Americans find insane or something...

If Obama wanted to look really smart, he'd have the terrorist cases dismissed and transferred to military jurisdiction while accepting Eric Holder's resignation. But Obama is the type to think an admission of error makes him look bad. On the contrary, admitting a mistake and fixing it would make him look stronger, and, besides, it's Holder's error anyway, not his. (It becomes his because he supports Holder.)

White House officials have told the Justice Department to consider other venues for the 9/11 terror trial that was to be held in lower Manhattan, the Daily News has learned.
This is soooo confusing! Now, I could have sworn the DoJ was completely independent when they decided to move the trials to NYC and to investigate prosecution of the CIA interrogators, because Obama told us NFW he could interfere without commiting a terrible ethical breach! Now the WH is telling the DoJ to move the trials?
You know, it was so much simpler when we all knew the rules: the President was evil, full stop. Now the President goes one way, then the other, but finally does the same as Bush, and then our betters tell us he is so infinitely more ethical!
Is he more ethical because he gets to the right answer slower? That must be it...

Doh, I think his numbers would approve with a quick, decisive move like the one I mentioned. Another example: He should have fired Janet Reno Napolitano a couple of times already for her witheringly stupid moments. Napolitano is there for one thing, primarily, to say the right thing at the right time. In both of these cases, he'd look better and poll better while at least tacitly admitting error.

I've been advocating 'Flying Lessons' for the pieces of shit since November '01. Repatriate them from 10,000 feet; if they learn how to fly before they hit the ground, success.

Obama said those offended by the legal privileges given to [K.S.] Mohammed by virtue of getting a civilian trial rather than a military tribunal won't find it "offensive at all when he's convicted and when the death penalty is applied to him."
so we have a President that already predisposes a guilty verdict. so it's nothing but a show trial..
so what's the real deal ? not justice, but for a point, to disregard military tribunals?
and for left naysayers about our worries on losing on technicalities. What that's never happened? this man was in Custody and walla interrogated. no technicality issued there?

I'm relieved that the trials are not going to be held in NYC (dictates of humanity and compassion compel me so, plus I still have some family left there). Still, that idiot Bloomberg deserves to have his huevos roasted for even considering it in the first place, Holder needs to be out of office, and the guy in charge, well, he just needs to be voted out of office at the soonest available date.
And do not wish that trial on Chicago people! My kids have to fly into O'Hare quite regularly (and I have friends who live there; poor bastards). It's bad enough that the stupid prison is likely opening up...oy!
(and I absolutely loved Ft. Jefferson -- beautiful place; don't send them there -- they don't deserve it...how about Antartica?)

Comrade Obama's intention to shut down Guantanamo Bay's Naval Base is tantamount to when that other irresponsible and incompent fool, Jimmy Carter, gave the Panama Canal back to Panama, one consequence of which is the little known and never mentioned fact that the goverment of Comunist China now operates and controls that canal, a blatant infringement on the Monroe Doctrine that sleazy and cowardly politicians are concealing. Wake up America.

It won't happen, but it would be nice to throw a little scare into 'em.

A change of venue may alleviate a security risk and may reduce the cost of providing security, but the potential undesirable outcomes that can come about as a result of trying KSM and people like him in a civilian court still remain.

Once again, the stupid old American people let Obama down.

What if ....
McCain was the Hanoi candidate. Obama was the Beijing candidate. A win-win for the Communists whichever one got elected. China owns this country - real estate and greedy and unscrupulous businessmen and politicians, the latter of whom were paid handsomely for their betayal of this country

If God didn't mean for them to be sheared, He wouldn't have made them sheep.

Hey, it worked on Slobodan Milosovich. Fukker died of old age while on trial in the Hague.

My money is on indefinite incarceration with no trials. It has gone on so long that the vast public really doesn't care if these guys sit and rot. It will get to the point that even the left won't care. There will be the rote call maybe once a year about Guantanamo, but no real effort is going to be made to deal with these guys.

It's not a done deal yet and this clowns could double down on stupid but this isn't exactly how the day after the State of the Union was supposed to go.
