— Ace Djou, an Army Reserve officer and Honolulu city councilman, might wind up winning this district in a reverse Scozzoflava scenario: There are two Democrats running and splitting the vote with each other.
Further, there's a nice schism here: The AFL-CIO supports Hanabusa. as do both of the state's Democratic Senators, and the DCCC supports Case. And with both very much in the running and virtually tied themselves, neither has a very compelling case to withdraw in order to keep the seat Democratic.

You'd think Michael asshole Steele would nationalize these elections to try to win a few seats and take advantage of the lousy opinion polls on the Dems.
I have just one question for Michael Steele. What's important to you, man? What the fuck are you doing while you're not getting (R)'s elected?

In retrospect, though, the really funny thing about the Double Down is not that it exists, not that it's a dare pretending to be a lunch, but that it would be nothing special if they added a bun to it. Think about it. It'd be like, "What's that? A double chicken sandwich? Pffft. Snooze. Any jackass can make a double chicken sandwich." Somehow, by taking off the processed-food bread, KFC made this thing look deadly.

So the first manned space probe to Venus arrives safely, and a solitary astronaut pilots the landing module to the surface. He opens the hatch and is shocked to find a group of blue, eight-foot-tall, three eyed beings waiting for him. They watch benignly as he unpacks his instruments and tools, and then one says to him, "You can't start working now -- it's almost sunset. Look, come to our house, we'll have a Shabbat dinner, we'll daven a little, and you can start work day after tomorrow."
The dumbfounded astronaut follows them, has a nice meal, and when the group begins the evening prayers, it's their turn to be surprised when the astronaut joins in.
One of the Venusians turns to another and mutters, "Funny, he don't look Jewish!"
