— Gabriel Malor Guys, I swear I'm lookin' around for blogworthy topics and coming up empty. It could be worse.
Instead, we'll just have to talk about how awful the average moron's music tastes are.

Then I listened to their song "Soldier" and it appears to be the typical artsy-lefty lament on war.

Here's a skin-and-bones story (the best I could find) about that disaster in Germany. No mention of a blast, just that a panic ensued in some sort of Tunnel of Love at a Techno music fest. At least 10 dead.
The headline should be "Panic at the Disco"

How about Kathleen Parker's article on the WaPo? Dan Riehl's got a blog post about that. I read through it and it's basically a whitewash of J-List. A "hey friends just talking about football here and no coordination of destroying someone's career to further partisan political goals".
I had to stop reading because I was getting so pissed off.

Hell Gabe they can't help it. Most of them are too young to have heard good music in any genre. There simply hasn't been any good artists since the early 80s and even then they were few and far between.

It stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander and the first episode heavily featured Brian Dennehy. The only thing that could make it better is if they used a Paul Anka song for the theme.

Hell Gabe they can't help it. Most of them are too young to have heard good music in any genre.
Which was why Top40 radio stations were so important. You heard the top 40 songs no matter the genre. So you got exposed to all sorts of different styles, be it rock, country, pop, or even movie soundtracks.
MTV however, had to fill up 24hr programing, and ran with anything it could find. Which explains the '1 hit wonders' that VHS occasionaly plays.

One of the reasons that I love listening to John Batchelor is the music he plays. It's always great and interesting. When Charlie Gasparino was guest hosting he criticized the music and John started to go off the path to other stuff but he seems to be back on point again with the music. It's one of the many reasons I love his show.

I remember reading an interview with Rufus Wainwright, Jr a few years back. He has been so immersed in leftard moral relativism that he doesn't really understand a fucking thing about the real world
One part that stood out was how he talked about his promiscuous homo sexual life style ..no slam on Gabe, so don't start with that..
..there was never enough perversity or enough drugs to satisfy him as he experimented more and more...he talked about sex with kids

Have a bunch of Judy (but not all), no Lena, and one Kate. The Kate I got because my MIL wanted a CD for her new car with Kate's version of GBA.
Interestingly enough my favorite Judy is not the Rainbow song, its the trolley song, which Jo Stafford also had a big hit with.
Maybe I need to listen to some Lena to see if I like her huh?

Van Jones: Hey, why is everyone so worried about the deficit? We just need the government to start taking more money from all those rich companies. http://ow.ly/2g4zX
LAS VEGAS, NV — While the federal government sinks deeper into debt than any time since World War II, former White House “green jobs” adviser Anthony Van Jones said it was time to stop worrying about budget deficits and pressure Washington to take more money from American businesses to fund larger social and infrastructure projects.
“This is a rich country. We have plenty of money, and if you don’t believe me, ask Haliburton,” Jones told a group of progressive bloggers and activists at the Netroots Nation convention Friday. “There’s plenty of money out there; don’t fall into the trap of this whole deficit argument.”
“The only question is how to spend it,” he added.

If you are thinking of changing the cartridge that will not work with this tone arm. Also, it has no adjustment for tracking weight. It truly is el cheapo.
This is a recommended buy for one purpose, plug it into a USB port and digitize the albums. After that you will no longer need it unless you pick up a hard to find thingy.
Which the latter does happen. My uncle asked me to find him a copy of "The Guitars of Sonny James" which I found in Germany. LOL, cost me 30 bucks for a used album.

I don't remember how I first found that song. I think I was just chasing links to similar music like they have on the sidebar at YouTube.
When it started playing, there was that half-second of "gee, that girl with the braces is really cute," and that kind of locks you in for a few seconds when it happens.
And as it got stranger, and stranger, and stranger, it suddenly occurred to me - hobos, death, casual sex - it was freaking AoS!
It was bizarre enough that I saved the link. I kind of collect huge masses of links and pointers to anything that might be useful someday. And look at that, here's a music thread!

The reason I don't like them. One night, I woke up hearing helicoptors near my apt (this being L.A.) I turn on the news, and there is some sort of riot going on near me.
Turns out Depeche Mode was going to do some sort of signing for their new cd. A huge crowd gathered, and apparently it got out of hand. Then the boys in the band panicked and decided to book. Things got worse after that. When I saw the local news (which was liive at that point), I almost went over to see what was going on. However, common sense took over.
The next morning I did in fact see what had happened, and let me tell you. There was just trash for blocks. And the closer you got to ground zero the worse it was.
So, it's my own personal Jesus.
Oh, and I'm about as hispanic as any woman in that video.
Posted by: HH at July 24, 2010 01:56 PM (6oDXl)
HH, at the heart and core of Steve Miller hatred ought to be "Livin in The USA," easily as anti-American as that Wainwright lad, and this was in 19 fricking 69. Decades later, I bought his solo jazz album "Born to be Blue" based on my respect for the song after hearing Jack Bruce/Dick Heckstall-Smith and Mel Torme do it. It was lame, lame, lame.
Just two nights ago, we all held forth on what assholes all turntable owners are; today, we are trading tips on where to get one. The nation isn't angry, it's schizoid.
For the greatest music video ever made, and I'm pretty sure never played on VHS, see Judy Garland in "The Atcheson, Topeka and the Santa Fe" opening The Harvey Girls. Cast of thousands, and techni colors you usually only see on sprint cars under the lights.
