SC Sacred Honor Watch: GOP Runoff And Democrat Senate Edition
— DrewM

First, the GOP Governor's race that won't end.

Gresham "22% of the Vote" Barrett decides to go for the rarely performed "Triple Passive Aggressive Smear" by having the actor in his campaign spot call him a "Christian Family man who won't embarrass us".

Take a shot at the supposed Sikh Conspiracy? Check

Play up the unsubstantiated rumors of Nikki Haley's infidelities? Check

Put the charges in someone elses mouth? Check

And he sticks the landing!

Seriously, this guy can not go away fast enough.

Meanwhile on the Democratic side, they are running away as fast as they can from their unemployed, unknown and under investigation for sex crimes candidate for the Senate.

Sen. Bob Menendez of NJ, the head of the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee says, "South Carolina? Never heard of it."

But South Carolina Man of Sacred Honor, Democratic House Whip Jim Clyburn says he knows exactly how this guy won a Democratic primary...the Republicans did it.

"There were some real shenanigans going on in the South Carolina primary," Clyburn said during an appearance on the liberal Bill Press radio show. "I don't know if he was a Republican plant; he was someone's plant."

The third-ranking House Democrat said he found it strange that Greene, a relative unknown prior to Tuesday, was able to produce the money to register and run for Senate despite being unemployed.

Greene allegedly tried to pay the registration fee in cash, and Clyburn said he wondered whether an outside party might have funded both the fee and Greene's campaign, in violation of federal campaign finance laws.

I know it's still early, but South Carolina has a healthy lead in the race to be the state with the most bizarre politics this year.

I've been reading the nutty liberal blogs and boy is it an education.  Theya re saying the Mexican army was always there, they were there apparently when "the poor little boy playing on the other side of the river" was shot and killed.  My first thought was "hmm, the Mexican army is on the border and we send a couple of border guard agents"....seems a little unequal, wouldn't you say?

See this post I made earlier, now you know that devil "e" is code!

Vic, good work on the P&C story.  Check out this racist line from a democrat, in the story. Republican said this, all hell would break loose.

"  State Sen. Robert Ford, D-Charleston, who lost his gubernatorial bid Tuesday, said race could have played a role. The Democratic primary electorate is majority black, as is Greene, but not Rawl. "   Vic Rawl had money, but he didn't have enough. He wasn't able to identify himself with black voters,"   Ford said.   "  No white folks have an 'e' on the end of Green. The blacks after they left the plantation couldn't spell, and they threw an 'e' on the end."

91 Well, problem is that the people like her, not just the republicans and conservatives but those rascally dems who lean conservative when the going gets tough and those independents who also lean to the right.   so it won't matter what this guy says about her heritage, in fact, by doing that he might be making his own kind of hell, cause he may be losing votes he might otherwise have gotten.  Funnny makes you wonder if he and the guy that took the lie detector test were working together in a sort of team to "just make sure a white, good ole boy takes the seat"

92 The Dems, including CLyburn and Fowler, refused to support the Dem candidate against Grahamnesty, Bob Conley who happens to be MORE CONSERVATIVE than Grahamnesty.  He won the primary in 2008 fair and square as an unknown so who is CLyburn to be btiching now?

94 "Christian Family Man Who Won't Embarrass Us". Thats a direct shot at Sanford, and if you were so inclined to read it that way a subtle knife in the ribs of Nikki. We are going to need someone who can operate at that level to take on Lindsey. - smooth, a little mean, and willing to get muddy - but never seems to be in the puddle.

You've never seen a woman's use her husbands' last name? You've never seen someone adopt an angliciazed first name or a new first name that enables the person to fit in? I have. My grandfather and all of his siblings change the spelling of their last name within five years of arriving here, and their original name wasn't that exotic. Did you ever see someone change both their first and last name for thier career? Perhaps Michael Caine or Cary Grant might be a clue.

We do have to give Kemp some slack. He is a Barrett partisan, as I am a Haley partisan, as parisparamus is a Romney partisan.

We just don't have to give him enough slack to use a politician's campaign literature as a primary single source.

98 Well, the people will get a chance to weigh in on this.  It's a shame that over less than 1% of the vote, this alleged great conservative, is willing to compromise her campaign against the dem by forcing the run off and essentially making her concentrate on that and not her democratic opponent.  so it seems the conservative is a sore loser...yeah I know I know what you are going to say...but if he cared about the party and the seat he would step away like the true southern christian gentleman he wants to make himself out to be, problem is, saying it doesn't make it so....he looks small minded and pig headed and don't think the people aren't watching.

99 to add to #99....we are already dealing with small minded and pig headed at the very top....

100 Bah, Clyburn is a whiny bigot.

This kind of crap used to go on all the time in AL politics until conservatives numbered enough to make a difference in Democrat elections and they decided it was time to start watching their side of the ballot so the same thing didn't happen to them.

The irony of it all is that Republicans usually aren't smart enough to whip out a ringer that could actually win a Senate race. Clyburn also fails to notice that the Republicans probably had twice the number of voters that the Democrats had. Turnout is everything in races where there is stiff competition, something their race didn't have.

102 Late as always.  Good to see that Kemp is still doing his part to Keep Conservatism White.  Some things never change.  Didn't Ace ban you, you shitmonger?
