— Ace At POWIP, video of the girl rushing to Rand Paul's car and, yes, assaulting him, by pushing a placard against his face.
Yes, that's assault and battery. You cannot just reach out and touch whoever you like. Particularly when you're doing so in a menacing manner -- like running up to an open car window while wearing a disguise to hide your appearance.
They allowed her to commit assault once -- how many times should she be permitted to commit? When she rushed him a second time -- her intentions already made clear by the first assault -- should she have been permitted to re-offend?
I wonder if liberals would appreciate Tea Partiers doing this sort of thing with their candidates. Or if they'd take it as provocative, violative, and possibly dangerous -- when a crazed person rushes at you, you don't know what their intentions are, do you?
And on Olby, of course she lies and claims she just wanted to "give" the sign to Paul. She omits the rushing-the-car-and-pushing-a-stiff-placard-against-his-face-through-his-open-window part.
Having done that already, she attempted to rush Paul again, at which point people restrained her, and good on them.
I bought into the spin. Sorry again. The only thing that was done wrong here was the guy gratuitously putting his foot on her head (for a second) before moving it to her shoulder. That seemed like a little bit of payback. Not much, but unnecessary.
But as for the people blocking her? Well done. We don't let disguised people rush at politicians.
If any liberal wishes to dispute me on the point then please name a Democrat politician currently ahead in the polls who you will grant us all permission to rush at menacingly.
And then we'll see how much you really want to stand behind this bullshit assassin-friendly "rule" you've concocted.

I bought into the spin. Sorry again.
I understand. Mentally, you know they lie. But your sense of fair play always gets in the way. When you're right, you want to explain not only that you're right but why you're right, figuring that if the other guy is intellectually honest he might see merit in your way of thinking.
But the other guy ins't intellectually honest. He's not honest at all.

Replete with the sacred Mount Olympus columns in the background, in an obviously pre-arranged interview, the most influential (because of his obviously above the fray independence and objectivity) Jon Stewart is happily and willing used as cheap, vulgar tool.
Because heÂ’s on that team.
Stick a fork in him now because he lost a lot of creds willing letting himself be BarryÂ’s rubber.

This is hard?
I haven't seen the video, I've read lots of different takes on it, but remember that all of this is based on hear-say from this (and other) sites- so, if I'm wrong about some of the facts, please be gentle.
She was wrong to do what she did (and, if she'd tried it on, say, the current or a former President, the Secret Service may well have just shot her). Everyone else was justified in preventing a second "encounter" but once she was on the ground, she was no longer a credible threat- it was not necessary to "restrain" her in any way- certainly not with a boot to the head.
The lessons which should be learned are:
1) Don't rush up to a politician and push something in through their open window- that's dumb.
2) Having failed to obey #1, don't do it - again
3) Someone having failed numbers 1 & 2, then having been appropriately prevented, don't step on them unless they are specifically showing some signs of trying to fail at #2 again.
That's two lessons for the lady, one for the guy. Which of the three do you believe will be absorbed?

They project onto us when they say that we are engaging in astroturfing, illegal financing, and vote fraud (not to mention that we are racists). We may be projecting onto them when we fail to recognize the extent of their dishonesty and viciousness. We wouldn't do it so we assume that they wouldn't do it.

Ace:
I had an epiphany a few years back, when going through a divorce...
When we judge other people, we do it through the perception of who WE are...
If you are a liar, you always expect other people to lie, because thats what you would do... if you are a cheater or have incliniations that way, you will always suspect others of cheating...
But if you are an honest, reasonable, truthfull person... your first instinct is to think of others that way.
Thats one reason the Right has such a problem with the Left... we really can't believe they would be doing some of these things out of malice, because we certainly would not do them... yet the Left, is ALWAYS in accusation mode, because they WOULD do them...
Sad... but its almos a rule of human nature.

She tried to attack Rand Paul with a weapon.
I think this is a stretch. Unless she was trying to poke his eye out with the corner of the cardboard sign. The KY code only defines 'deadly weapon' (and it doesn't fit the definition) -or- there's dangerious instrument (again it doesn't fit). Has to be capable of 'causing death or serious physical injury)
I think battery would work though.

FWIW, I was proud of Ann Althouse sticking to her guns on her assessment. As it turned out, she was right. She laid out two scenarios: set up (which I don't think is completely wrong, btw, since I still have no idea who the filmographer was and how/why s/he photographed the incident the way s/he did) or Paul supporters restraining a threatening person who was behaving unpredictably. The latter proved correct.

There is no legal or moral obligation to give the lunatic left a "free bite" swing or shot at our leaders before we take appropriate measures to defend and neutralize. That should be done proactively. Anybody going to a tea party event needs to be on guard to protect our own. And as alway, bring a camera phone.

It's real freakin' easy to criticize an assault situation with the benefit of hindsight.
In the heat of the moment, when you don't have anywhere near enough information like - is the attacker armed with a deadly weapon? Is the attacker alone? Is she going to try and bite you with her plague-infected mouth? - then I'd say this woman should be thankful she didn't end up with serious injuries from her little stunt.
I'm having a hard time finding significant fault on Paul supporters here.

Liberals lie about everything. They claim Bush stole the 2000 election - they know it's a lie, but it's what they want people to believe, so they say it anyway.
This was an instant Liberal Lie Hit, top of the charts, and ten years from now it will be part of their Popular Narrative no matter how disproven it is.
The only, ONLY way to get a little peace and quiet will be to marginalize them so badly (and this goes for the MFM, too) that the only time they ever get to complete a sentence is when they're huddled in a small circle around a burning trash can in a dark alley.
Liberals ABSOLUTELY will not stop lying, you can't make them, period.
