— Ace She indicated she agreed with the Heller decision, but, shock of shocks, immediately joined a dissent that denied the central finding of the Heller majority.
Gee, I wonder if Elena Kagan might do the same thing.
What document?
In Fairness... She didn't lie so much as deliberately mislead.
Contrast that with her Senate testimony: "I understand the individual right fully that the Supreme Court recognized in Heller." And, "I understand how important the right to bear arms is to many, many Americans."
I don't know how hard the GOP pressed her on that; either way, she'd refuse to answer.
But once burned, twice shy, or so it should be.
Kagan's statements about "understanding" opinions should be taken as deliberately misleading.

Appeasing Republicans in Congress is not very difficult. In fact, they are perfectly willing to jerk themselves off.

What's really going on in these silly hearings is that the Republicans are appeasing (read: jerking off) us.
In the backrooms they're all joking around with the nominee about how they have to ask a few tough questions just to placate their stupid base. I know it.

That's why they ask these blunt red-meat questions about guns and shit instead of asking about, say, the 14th Amendment and state's rights.

Son of Hamas not to be deported for immediate assassination in Gaza. DHS cites "new evidence"* in reversing earlier positon from 2009.

Liberals are like islamists: they purposely deceive as commanded in their religious texts, the koran and saul alinsky's rules for radicals.
Kagan displayed complete legal illiteracy as harvard dean, she's already proven to be unqualified for the SCOTUS. But this is the type of individual you get when you have an unqualified affirmative action dimwit for president.

If you need proof how much the Republicans despise their own base, all you need to do is look at how many of them came rushing to our defense when their "friends across the aisle" compared us to Nazis.
Notice how Boner and Cabbage Patch Kid Face McConnell defended us when just the other day an aide to McCaskill called us brownshirts.

You know, when we are a banana republic, none of this will be important. We'll be setting around the porch telling our grandchildren, "You know Fidel (we will have adopted some of the quait socialist hero names for our kids by then), there was a time - put down my damn vodka ya lazy shit, how many times I gotta tell ya... Where was I... Oh yeah, well anyway Fidel, there was a time when we could see these days comin'. The politicians - yeah we actually had elections back then, who knows why, they spent us into oblivion and not a damn one of them had the least sense of honor...
Something like that.

And, "I understand how important the right to bear arms is to many, many Americans."
Heh. Indeed.
Can someone say condescension? Yes, she understands how important guns and silly religious beliefs and foolish patriotism is to many, many Americans.
Posted by: i like chubby asian chicks at June 30, 2010 10:22 AM (uFokq)
Just like how Obama and Hillary understood how important a missile shield was to many, many Eastern Europeans.

Republican senators would just let this statement lie, without adding "But that doesn't mean that you think their understanding is sh*t".

Lifetime is just too much time, it doesn't allow society to self-correct for a bad President making bad appointments. And it makes the losers in a political argument give up hope that they can ever win, or even be allowed to win. Which increases the odds of eventual secession and civil war.
If people don't have faith in the system ... if they don't believe that if they convince their fellow citizens that their position is correct then they get their policy ideas enacted ... then eventually they'll just give up on the current political system and create another one.
In an age when people routinely live to be 100, being ruled by 9 Supremes appointed generations ago is immoral and untenable.

The more I think on this, and as my brain continues to melt from doing so, shouldn't question 1 have been: Have you ever been a judge before?
Isn't this like applying for the Baseball Hall of Fame when you've never even picked up a bat? You might understand the concepts, but never actually participated in the actual process.

This is also a lie. An abject lie.
Literally everything the Framers wrote on the subject indicates that they did, in fact, do exactly this.
Sotomayer can present NOTHING from the Framers to support her contention, because it doesn't exist. People have been looking for it for 200 years.
Man, I really, REALLY fucking detest these dishonest leftist fucktards. And she'll tell the same lie over and over, no matter how many people correct her, because she doesn't GIVE A DAMN what the facts are.
I seriously think we need a properly accountable agency whose job it is to research statements by public-sector powermongers and, when they are caught in provable, definite lies, send someone to punch them right in the freaking pie-hole. On camera.
