1 Not really funny

they haven't been funny since the early to mid 90's. When your raiding the talent from Nickelodeon, something is horribly wrong

Not really funny

From SNL, not really surprising.

Link is to NBC, btw, if you don't want to give them the clicks.  Didn't watch, myself.

6  I caught that Sat. night, and was amazed that SNL was taking on that issue, as well. I thought it was semi-funny. The fat guy had some great facial expressions.

Gabby Sidibie totally captured the look of the average DMV employee, didn't she?

Hell of a make-up job there, huh?

You know you've struck a nerve when the audience laughs in that uncomfortable way.....

"heh heh.... heh....  is it okay to laugh at this?"

11 Not funny because even the excesses outlined in this fiction don't seem too far from the excesses in reality.

The long standing meme that we must all be taxed to death to pay for fire-fighters and school teachers - (and those services never really improve, do they)-  and we are shamed if we don't agree to be tax-raped.

It's for the children!

18 OT: jesus, Ed Morrisy is defending Jim Jones Jew joke. He conveniently dosen't address Jone's preface to the joke that he believed it to be true. I will check back later, I am sure he will be defending Obama appealing to minorities only.

24 Ok, so it wasn't hoi polloi level funny. No one stepped in dog doo doo. But I loved the ridiculousness of it, the guy being 100% disabled, the other one living full time in Florida. That it was apostasy was just a little ladle of awesome gravy on the side. Because everything else in that episode sucked.

29 It's about time that Creative People sat up and paid attention. Creative People, who have no salaries, exist from one job to the next, and are only as good as their last gig. Zero job security, any retirement they have, they provided it. No paid vacations, few have any kind of medical plan. I wouldn't have it any other way, personally.

34 Listen to all the drones in the audience chuckle uncomfortably in confusion. Where's Tina Fey with her Sarah Palin impersonation, they wonder. We KNOW we're allowed to laugh at that.

Posted by: Warden at April 26, 2010 10:30 AM (TIGTh)

35 Phil Hartman 'left' SNL because his wife murdered him. I'm sure if given the choice, Phil would have preferred to stay. Isn't everyone associated with SNL attached to a Union? The behind the scenes people, the writers (any that aren't the actors) and the actors themselves? Aren't they part of the SAG or something? That being the case, though the skit wasn't really funny, it is surprising they did it. Next week, they'll have another skit about how stupid Palin is or something to balance out their liberal Chi.

56 I thought some of Eddie Murphy's stuff was pretty funny on SNL. But, definitely the golden years were at the beginning and they've been coasting on ratings from drunk college kids ever since.

Posted by: ParanoidGirlInSeattle at April 26, 2010 11:17 AM (RZ8pf)

57 I watch sometimes cause I tivo the episode but they really haven't been funny in quite sometime. (well in my humble opinion and that of my friends, at least)  I mean even Tina fey has gotten to be tedious...I think Tina Fey is now tedious cause the real Sarah Palin has become a better comedienne than Tina Fery!  But, this clip really nails the whole "union member public employee "how many men/women does it take to change a light bulb thing....10, 1 to hold the light bulb, 1 to put in the light bulb, one to turn the light bulb and the others to watch..."   Sadly, it isn't funny and all too true...ah but it's the "democratic way"

Heh.  AT&T rep tried to get me to sign up for their Uverse service.  Once I got done with the salesman, I had to get on the phone to confirm my order with someone else.  I couldn;' understand a word he was saying.  I finally just hung up and said "I'll take of this myself on-line. kthanxbai."

I personally am sick of dealing with really surly nasty people in foreign countries who know you are stuck and have to talk to them.   The other day I got one and asked her what country she was in.  Her answer was "we are not allowed to say" which in and of itself was an answer since you then knew it wasn't the United States of America.   Don't understand why customer service which billy c promised would stay here as part of the "new service economy" has now gone to other countries too.

73 You can tell the NBC management is completely out-of-touch and self-destructive when they bring in this hippopotamus to guest host.  She's not attractive (in fact, she's disgusting), she's not talented, she's not particularly famous, and she's not even really an actress.  No sane person wants to see her on TV for 90 minutes.  But for pandering effete white urban liberals, she's perfect.  They can all fawn over her - look how pretty she is, she's so talented - and are you going to disagree, YOU RACIST SCUM? This stupefaction has to end, it's destroying our society.
