Some Great Photoshops
— Ace

At Director Blue. Here, Obama tells a funny story.

This second series, at Moonbattery, is a variation of The Tourist Guy -- Obama showing up in pictures taken during the Great Depression. Very funny, and very cutting. Kinda sorta brilliant.

Thanks to Maetenloch for those.

Updated: I directed the second link to Moonbattery, where I think the images were first published.

I still want to see someone make a line of political action figures.  I've thought of that for awhile, but Alvin Greene stole my idea.

Ok bad example.

A complete set of Congressional "Baseball" Cards would be pretty cool as well.  Come out every two years like Barone's almanac.  Stats and votes on the back.  Each pack comes with a piece of pig jerky.

27 O/T: Interesting round-table WaPo article about the China currency debate.

It's quite a stealthy issue with potentially large ramifications. I don't think it's been mentioned more than once during this campaign season by the candidates.

With domestic consumption only about 35% of China's economy, they are not going to let exports slide because of currency re-evaluation.

The absurdity of countries everywhere engaged in this competitive de-evaluation is odd enough to spawn a Monty Python sketch or three.

Yeah, I read that, but I think that the kid who supposedly fired the pistol, although a student, was working for the Feds photographing the protesters.  It sounds like he felt threatened and panicked, perhaps partly because in the past the students had gone after him for photographing them (at past protests).  So I'm not sure the scenario plays out the way you suggest.

Female. The males wearing the thongs are customers.

Joining Ranks Hot Dog Customer Dons Thong Bikini, Joins With Pasties-clad Vendor To Show Solidarity.

June 04, 1991

By LARRY BARSZEWSKI, Staff Writer

And now, a hot dog vendor in Palm Beach County who doesn`t even wear pasties.

His name is Eddie Schultz.

A roadside stand on Military Trail near West Palm Beach became controversial last month when a female vendor put on a thong bikini bottom and wore only pasties on top.

Then, Palm Beach County Commissioner Mary McCarty, tired of the thong-clad vendors` story, suggested it might be time to do away with all roadside vendors in the county.

That irritated Schultz, of Lantana, who is a regular customer at the stand at Military Trail and Belvedere Road.

So putting on his own thong bikini, a pair of flip-flops, sunglasses and nothing else, Schultz volunteered to sell hot dogs alongside pasties-clad vendor Dara Young on Monday.

``I`m here to support them,`` Schultz said. ``I have yet to see any guys get involved with it. These bathing suits have been out for years now.``

Young was glad to see Schultz put in a day with her.

``I think it`s going to be a ball today,`` Young said. ``I think we`re going to have a great time.``

While opponents of the scantily clad vendors want sheriff`s deputies to use public decency laws against them, the only person who came close to being arrested on Monday was picketer Pat Vickers.

Vickers, a pre-school teacher from West Palm Beach, said she was told by deputies she would be arrested if she did not move farther away from the stand. Her sign encouraged men to boycott the thong-clad vendors.

Ever since nearby residents complained about the vendors to commissioners last month, stand owner April Arnold has seized the publicity issue. The emphasis is now the survival of the stands, she said.

She plans to appear with Young before commissioners at their regular meeting today, but the issue is not scheduled to be on the agenda.

Arnold said she has been told by county workers driving county vehicles that they are no longer allowed to stop at her stand.

``They were some of our best customers,`` Arnold said. ``I feel that the county is going against me once again.``

But County Administrator Jan Winters said if anything, the prohibition might have come from a supervisor sensitive to possible bad publicity.

``There is no word coming out of this office,`` Winters said. ``There`s no such county policy.``

As for Schultz, he said he was not embarrassed about wearing the thong bikini on a busy street corner instead of a beach.

``It`s just another place to be,`` Schultz said.

My niece form Omaha was taught in public school that "art is anything you say is art."  She said it with such conviction,  she almost sounded like she would burst into tears after I made the perfectly sensible observation that most modern "art" can't exist outside of a museum because 99 percent of the population just doesn't care to see it.

Well, hell, if ANYTHING can be "art," I say a shapely female ass wrapped in a thong bikini is Art.  Am I wrong?

What's even nicer CoolCzeeh is four of the Commissioner's have been sentenced to state prison in the last five years for kickbacks, fraud, misfeasance, malfeasance, and for being public assholes.  Good riddance!

I wonder if they're going to be offered wieners by thong-wearing inmates.

Well, it's better than most of what passes as "performance art" (whatever the heck that is!).

I gotta' tell ya' though, thongs are uncomfortable.  And kinda nasty (not in a good way).

I would never defend someone who dressed up like a nazi and did so out of sympathy for nazis. However, it seems the dishonest left-wing nut blogs are going ape-shit over some historical re-enactments.

Left-wing hack blogs go crazy, spread dishonesty.

93 @89: actually, I once read an article by some ditz that said she liked to wear thongs because they are actually MORE comfortable than panties.  Having never worn a thong, and panties only on my head (but that's another story, and I won't bore you!), I cannot comment with authority.

Your underwear ever bunch up and give you a wedgie?

That's what wearing a thong feels like.

Comfortable, my ass.

Yeah, I've heard that sort of things said before. I can only assume these are people who spend a lot of time with strange objects in various orifices.  Or something.  Of course, any of my fellow moronettes are excluded from this slanderous statement.

Thongs are like stripper heels.  Meant to be worn very briefly.

Why is it routine for fat chicks at the beach to be wearing thongs?  Beach attire should have a modicum of good taste, but the cellulite, pimples, bruises from boy friend beat downs, and  undulating motion of the fat globules leaves one bonerless and looking for eye bleach.

Wouldn't it be redundant to have that sculpture on display in the USA with Barack and Michelle acting as embodiments of that idea in the White House.

An even more troubling question is why they don't put on anything else when they go to WalMart before and/or after hitting the beach.
