— Purple Avenger As always, Mr. Van Voorhees has captured the "essence" of the moment from the conservative perspective like no mere mortal can.
...Mr. Obama proved himself heir apparent to the Wizard of Altamont. Coiling, menacing, prowling, pouting, our Jumpin' Jack Flash-in-Chief worked the majority side of the hall into a frenzy, like some beautiful petulant electric cobra panther in a Brooks Brothers 3-button suit. And when he unleashed his climactic campaign finance j'accuse at his Republican foes and the assembled Supreme Court, I was fully hoping a House member would lung through and beat Justice Alito senseless with a tire iron....In other news, VDH has a somewhat less optimistic outlook on the Obama
...So after a mere year, Obama has crashed and plummeted lower than any first year administration in polling history. His “let me be perfectly clear” and “make no mistake about it” are the equivalent now of the serial teenage filler “Ya know.”...And curiously, the presentdent has warmed up to nukes for the future. Nuclear weapons, that is.

Osama bin Laden attacked the WTC to undermine the US economy. Given the damage that Obama is inflicting on the economy, the smartest thing OBL can do is lie low and let Obama carry on. It may be cold comfort, but a terror attack at this point would undermine Obama, and that's the last thing OBL should want.

Good Morning Morons;
IÂ’m sure the top story today will be the LA frame. Breitbart lashed into the federal police and courts in LA for the arrest saying that James OÂ’Keefe was framed and denied an attorney for 28 hours while the DA made his case to the press. He found it ironic that the terrorist Christmas bomber had a lawyer within hours while OÂ’Keefe was held without one for 28 hours.
The DA involved has stepped down from the case. When this case was breaking many of us said that it does not pass the smell test. We are starting to see what this case is really all about, and it truly does stink.
I also would like to give a shout-out to all the people eeyores who were trashing OÂ’Keefe before they even could anything of than the governmentÂ’s PR via the MSM. Most of them were concern trolls, but a few of them were regulars here.
Emphasizes something I have been saying for a long time. DO NOT BELIEVE A DAMN THING NEGATIVE that the MSM puts out about someone who is an enemy of the liberals.
Posted by: Vic at February 02, 2010 02:23 AM (QrA9E)
Another story breaking today is that BS from our asshole RINO Lindsey Graham who is jumping out in front of the parade for stopping the terror trial in NYC. Recall yesterday that we heard he was going to introduce a bill to stop the trial.
Well it turns out somewhat different than that. He is joining forces with some commiecrats (again) and they will add an amendment to the “next bill that comes along”. Guess what bill that is? Obama’s job’s bill otherwise known as porkulous II. This will be an opening for RINOs to cross the aisle to vote for it in the name of “keeping the trial out of NYC”. Frankly, if it comes down to having that trial in NYC or voting for pork II I go for the trial. Hell, all those NYC residents voted for O’Bama, let them have some of his cake. Sorry NYC Morons.
We can not get rid of this RINO by any legal means, but what we should be doing is sending letters/emails to the Republican Party to have him removed from all committee assignments and marginalized in the party. Maybe he will resign.

His feigned support of nuclear energy was totally dishonest because he defunded Yucca Mt.
The "support" in his current budget is the same "support" that was in the 2005 energy bill. A promise of loan guarantees.
That is a promise that if a utility borrows 5 billion dollars to build a nuke site while a group of communist intervenors ties it up in court for 10 years eating up interest charges the gov will pay off the loan if the utility goes bankrupt.
In other words, it is no help at all. Real help would be fixing the process that allows intervenors to tie up these projects for years with one frivolous lawsuit after another.
Of course that will never happen because they hate nuke power and have no intention of actually promoting it.

Any new nuclear reactors will have to meet technical specifications the GE helped write.
If you go back and look at past energy bills there was no money for that kind of stuff. GE is in Boiling Water Reactors and the industry has been moving away from those, or I guess I should say "had started moving away from those".
I haven't kept up with what they are doing on the BWR front, but I know of no new designs for BWRs, while Westinghouse has several pre-approved designs for PWRs.
GE is in all this "green" crap for windmill generators. They are BIG in that field.

Oh it is much worse than that. They edit interviews to make people they don't like (conservatives) look stupid or evil while hiding how liberals are destroying the country.
With Sarah Palin they even switched answers around between questions. If I was a politician I would never allow any interview that was not live or in which I did not get to approve the final copy.

His feigned support of nuclear energy was totally dishonest because he defunded Yucca Mt.
Obama didn't defund Yucca. First of all a president can't "defund". The House, in July, voted 388 to 30 to not defund the Yucca Mountain repository in the FY2010 budget. He tried to close it in accordance with a campaign promise and a gimme to Harry Reid.
This "stopping Yucca Mountain" promise ranks up there with his stupider campaign promises and decisions. It's akin to "closing Gitmo". Using Yucca is law and would have to be changed by congress. Congress is not going to vote against Yucca for fear that another depository would be found in their state. The libs have managed to hold it up in court but Obama himself cannot do shit except lend his name to the "cause".

He tried to close it in accordance with a campaign promise and a gimme to Harry Reid.
What he did was put a line item in the budget to zero out the budget for Yucca Mountain and withdraw the license application.
What congress does with that is anybody's guess. Yucca has been tied up in court with activist judges for so long it has beome almost a moot point.

Isn't there still an open application for an NRC license by the Skull Valley Gosutes (in Utah) to be a National Waste repository?
The NRC actually approved and issued the license but as far as I can tell it is still being held up by opposition from other intervenors just as described above.
Until the regulatory and legal proceedings are straightened out in this country nothing like this will go forward without spending huge sums of money. The Commiecrats in congress, bowing to their watermellon consituincy have made it easy to sue and stop progress.
BTW, that site is a "Dry Fuel Storage" Site so most likely it will not be considered permanent storage. It is also not a "national depository". There is a consortium of utilities participating in it.

Whatever the case may be, GE and others have invested heavily in the "green" sham. Even if AGW ends up being thoroughly (scientifically) discredited, the wheels are in motion and there's no turning back. Witness how the public is being saturated with "green" advertising. It's 24x7 on television. It's become an emotional appeal, and unfortunately many Americans (52% anyway) readily abandon intellect in favor of emotion.

Not really, the risk from on-site storage is almost negligable. What it does is once again jack up the cost of operation which is exactly what they are looking for.
