2 Both those GA elections you cite are state races, LauraW.  Which is fine, but we're also having a special election to replace Congressman Deal in GA's 9th CD, which is the most conservative district in the state, on the same date. 

3 Anyone have a list of state primaries?  (Can we invoke "Didn't vote, don't get to bitch"?)

5 Anyone have a list of state primaries? Massachusetts is Sept 14. In the 5th congressional district (Tsongas) we have 4 Republican challengers collecting signatures to get on the ballot.

27 Djou, R, 1st Congressional district of Hawaii, the seat formerly held by Neil Fuckwad Abercromby, mail-in special election ending Mat 22. Djou espouses fiscal conservatism, and has never voted for a tax increase while in the state legislature. Running against two Democrats fighting over the plumb position.

LeMieux, who ran Crist’s past campaigns, served as his chief of staff at one point and has largely been seen as Crist’s top political advisor, now has his own political career to consider. Appointed to replace ex-Sen. Mel Martinez (R) last year, LeMieux is said to be taking a serious look at challenging Sen. Bill Nelson (D) in ‘12.

But LeMieux now has a choice to make: If Crist bolts the GOP and runs as an independent, LeMieux will have to decide between backing his old friend and angering the very GOP primary voters he’ll need in ‘12, or sticking with the party and throwing his pal overboard.

Sources close to LeMieux said they believe he has made his decision, and that he will stick with the party over the person. LeMieux has talked the decision over with his advisors and staff, and they believe LeMieux would endorse ex-FL House Speaker Marco Rubio (R) if Crist makes his switch official.

There are some reasonable-sounding prospects in the voter's guide but I don't actually know anything about any of them.

In District 1, that being David Wu-hoo's seat, you can choose either Cornilles or Kuzmanich. Either will do fine, and Cornilles is not as much of a slouch.

For OR Senate, the best choice is Jim Huffman. He's not perfect, but he's better than Wyden.

Anything else as far as Oregon races? What district are you in and who is running for State Rep/State Senate for your district?

39 Nathan Deal has a great successor running. Tom Graves is a real conservative out of the state legislator. In short, he is a strict original intent guy. Jimmy Norman is by far the best candidate for replacing Lee Hawkins. "Government is too big and spends too much money". This is true for the feds and Georgia. stanbw
