Stolen Valor Alert
— LauraW

Do you know this man?

It's worth a click to compare his goofy face to the uniform and decorations. Hilarious.
General Chinpube is awfully young and geeky to be such a powerhouse of military manhood, n'est-ce pas?

His decorations include;
Round Patch, right side says "Central Intelligence Agency." Ummm yea. Great start.

Awards:
Around the neck is the British Commander of the British Empire (CBE).
2 Distinguished Service Cross
Air Medal
Flying Cross
2 Silver Star
Bronze Star
Purple Heart
National Defense (too bad he didn't make it easy on us and forget this one)

Devices:
SAS crest
CIB w/ 2 stars
Master jump wings
Helo pilot badge
Air assault wings
Pathfinder

.... and so on. How did he ever have the time to complete JPME 1 & II?

To the point Texas readers;

WE NEED A NAME. If you know, email-twitter-facebook me at the POC above.

Purely personal note: I like his glasses too. I have a personal bias about squared-off, black-rimmed glasses. To me they say "Please, somebody take me seriously. I'm begging you."

But that's not a crime. Impersonating a member of the Armed Forces is.

Thanks to xbradtc, who has an even better picture of Admiral Hepcat 'Elvis' Costello.

He gets a 99 on my retard scale, not just for committing a federal offense at a public event, letting himself get photographed and pissing on veterans in the process....but for doing it in Texas. Dude must have a death wish.

Political contenders should keep this guy's photos on file for the coming campaigns involving national security since the mayor dishonored real veterans of valor by permitting this obvious masquerade on her call. She needs to issue an apology-repudiation that valor was stolen as her watch began, that she will not tolerate it. From suck-starting a Huey to get my outfit back from the cleaners in Da Nang, to steamy operations in the golden monsoon showers of Thailand, I've put the 'rear' in rear echelon with pride! As far as the CIA patch, well, don't ask, don't tell has always been my security watchword, especially when going in deep, uh, cover. Next stop, CIC of the top-secret Operation Hello Sailor! NOBODY packs the rear with more gear, maggots! And those glasses? Impact-proof lenses in case those teabaggers get out of hand! 94 -- You can pick most military medals up at a pawn shop...or you can swipe them off a real military member: my bil got in and swiped some of my husband's (when they were roomies, prior to marriage to me -- which meant bil kinda vanished; I don't like him and just barely put up with him in small doses, and he knows it).

...and once my greyhound runs him down then we can let my pit bull mix and my border collies lose on him -- they like chew toys that smell of pork too.  Right sharp toothed little suckers they are at that -- it'd be a wolf pack style feeding frenzy (maybe make him wear those little wing things as well; my dogs like tearing into fluffy things almost as much as pork smelling things).

I call bullshit on most of his resume, especially this.  Powell is a political squish, but he'd be savvy enough to have this guy transferred at the earliest opportunity.

107 "The mixture of CIA, British and American insigna and medals along with his goatee would not be your normal Stolen Valor type prick."

Imitation is the cheap knock-off of admiration. You're right. The "normal" stolen valor prick who covets the bling wishes he could be that way without trying. This guy not only has no respect, he is ridiculing and degrading the valor as if there is no such thing as valor. Having failed at valor himself in life, he has determined that no one else may be recognized for valor, like a bitter atheist who must spite the concept of goodness expressed as God. This guy is doing his Alinsky fashion statement runway modeling medals of valor as if it's cheap costume jewelry bling on a pimping whore turning tricks. Arrest, convict, fine him and make him serve to learn some respect for others.

109 What, no EOD badge? His uniform just needs a few awards to give it authenticity, like a Good Conduct Medal with "V" device for valor, an NCO Professional Development Ribbon with Screaming Napalmed Children Cluster, and oh... say a Salvage Diver badge. Then slap a Belgian Fourrage on his shoulder and he's good to go.

I guess, but I mean, what kind of sick bastard would want to wear someone else's Purple Heart and try to pass it off as your own?  Not only are you dishonoring the original recipient, I'd be afraid God would strike me down. I'm sorry to see that he's getting the advance warning. Reminds me of a couple of scenes from Day of The Jackal. In two days, he could be bussing tables three states away, with a new assumed name. That would be a shame.

I am not a veteran. Our country is not divided into military and non-military; it's divided into military and anti-military. American civilians can get pretty touchy about seeing their military mocked, especially by the likes of this little guy.

Anise Parker, they tell me, is a homosexual. But she was noted as the more conservative candidate in more than one election. She also spent several years of her adolescence serving as a Red Cross volunteer at a US military hospital in Germany, so I'm going to bet she's not in on the joke.  Should a prosecutor take up the case (and why wouldn't one, other than Orders from Far, Far Above?) she couldn't shield him anyway, but I'm not seeing any reason she would want to.

I hope we will be seeing regular updates to this case.

Commenters will please refrain from ridiculing ther merit badges of the Boy Scouts, the counterfeiting of which does get you into Deep Shit, and the Belgian Fourragere, which my father earned in 1944 and wears with some pride.

My grandfather died in his 70's with 3 purple hearts and 2 bronze star in the seabee's. My other grandfather was, who is still alive, fought with the 101st on d-day and cracked his spine in france. He got a purple heart for that and about 60 -70 ish years with a cain or a walker. My uncle lost 3 fingers in korea due to frostbite. My dad got cancer from agent orange in Vietnam. And, personally, I've lost some good friends in Iraq, and had a few that haven't come back with the same number of limbs that they left with.

So, earnestly, if this guy wanted to wear a costume and be feastive he really, really fucked up. But, i think we all know, that just wasn't the case.

Posted by: rob b at January 18, 2010 09:19 PM (2giRu)

172 Rob B, I'd love to hear more about your grandfather with the 101st. I did eight years with the Screaming Eagles, including Iraq a couple times. Hit me up, azrael556 at hotmail dot com.

I have a pickaxe handle somewhere with this jackoff's name on it. No muss, no fuss, no prosecution, he just takes the beating of his life to get the "hip and ironic" out of his system and once he stops pissing blood and can walk normally, he's on with his life. I've done some fucked up uniforms for Halloween when I was a LOT younger, and I appreciate a good reenactor's impression (including the WWII guys) and know some of the insignia is essential to that. You can't reenact the WWII Airborne without the wings, which of course are the same pattern of badge as earned today. It's a moral issue I'm good with. But it's not Halloween, this guy's uniform is fucked up, so he gets the axe handle like I was the Bear Jew  =)

As a former Christian and now new studying Buddhist, how about we show some compassion and understanding about this situation? I only served in the military in my home country because it is mandatory for each man to do so. It is also common in my country for a man to become a Buddhist monk at some point, which is what I did and am doing now while going to Uni here in New Hampshire. I support both my home country and the USA military for what they do. Is it not the job to defend the weak and those in need of help? I just hope we can see it without so much anger and hate. Get him the help he obviously needs. I don't think what he did was with malicious intent or trying to gain something other than just recognition. Too bad he did it in the wrong manner. I try to look at all situations from any possible angle. Any thoughts?
