— Dave in Texas Col. Allen West opens his campaign in Broward County by encouraging his supporters to hold the line.
Florida's 22nd voted Democrat in the last three Presidential elections, Obama 52-48, Kerry 51-49, and Gore 51-46, but had a Republican Congressman from 1993 to 2007 when Ron Klein won in 06.
Personally I'd love to see West greet Pelosi the way he says he could.

We need more Republicans like Col West who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and say what's what.
West understands his enemy. West wants to defeat his enemies, not work with them.

See this? DO YOU SEE THIS?
This. THIS is why a lot of Republicans are tentative and skittish about sticking their necks out for conservative values. Yes, there are lot of pussies and lightweights in the GOP.
But a lot of them are good conservatives who would be more outspoken if they knew the people had their backs. Because you know as well as I do as soon as the Democrat-run media hones in on a Republican for speaking out, the supporters and fellow Republicans on the Hill scatter and leave them swinging in the wind.
Joe Wilson, for instance. Trent Lott, for instance.

#4, I prefer this:
"The greatest pleasure is to vanquish your enemies & chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth and see those dear to them bathed in tears, to ride their horses and clasp to your bosem their wives & daughters"
Or the shorter version:
"Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of the pelosies"
Heh.

Afterwards, redistricting, but a district that went less than 52% for the Dem presidential candidate could be held by West forever if he wanted.

If the Republicans had any brains, which they don't, they would ask Col West to give one of the Republican weekly addresses.
1) He sounds great.
2) He's not a pussy.
3) It will give him national recognition and help his candidacy.
Nobody needs to see/hear Eric Cantor or Mitch fucking McConnell do these lame addresses that nobody cares about. We need fresh faces and we need to pump some adrenalin into this lame-ass party.
Posted by: Scrappy Doo at April 18, 2010 09:53 AM (kSbr6)
It has consistently voted Dem for president since the district was formed. Even when G. H. Bush won the State against Clinton, this district still went for Clinton in 1992 (formed in 1993). Also, West lost this same race by almost 10 points in 2008.
If polling shows that the Republican is forging ahead here it means the Republicans will have a blow out.

Just shut up, already. Defense is the main responsibility of the federal government. It isn't the #1 expenditure, but it certainly should be. Instead, we have un-Constitutional social expenditures comprising more than twice our defense budget, and with the new un-American, un-Constituional, illegal health scare takeover, that figure will jump much higher.
#77, so you think all the murdering dictators we support are legit? just because they murder to export cheap coffee, bananas and oil to us...you are morally bankrupt
Posted by: tasting dicktory at April 18, 2010 02:43 PM (oA4y0)
The federal government is not an agent of morality, you blithering idiot. The federal government's task is restricted to protecting the citizenry, looking after our interests, internationally, and preserving our rights, domestically. Morality is something for individual citizens to carry out in their lives. You pursue your concept of morality on your own time and with your own money.
US actions in the world have done little other than bring more freedom, wealth and liberty to those nations we have dealt with. The US has left, in its wake, richer, freer, saner nations - as that has served US interests. We just want to do as much business with as many people as we can, and it is easier to do business with rich, free nations.
As to oil, get a clue. Oil is the lifeblood of the world. Fools such as you refuse to understand this simple fact. Of course, you are too retarded to understand much of anything, and your view of the US as the devil belies what you really want. You are a despicable piece of shit.

Hey tasting victory, I've been waiting for an unashamed Leftist to ask this question:
Considering that Obama is still shipping tens of thousands of American kids overseas to fight, still killing Muslims with unmanned drones, still holding terror suspects without trial, still ordering rendition to nations who torture, etc, etc., does that mean George W. Bush was right all along, or does it mean that Barack Obama is a "war criminal" just like Bush? Gotta be one or the other.

I suggest we cut the defense budget to about $10 - we'll buy Walter a Swiss army knife and send him out to the nation's shores to defend us against all our enemies. Yeah, that will do the trick! Maybe you can bring along some of Obama's speeches on your iPod so that when the bad guys do manage to come over here, you can play the speeches for the terrorists and that will cause them to come to their senses.

What I admire about the Ace of Spaders is their desire for personal accountability and responsibility...to have high expectations of people to make their own way in the world rather than relying on handouts and help from others.
With respect to foreign policy...this is hard for me but I will try...I guess you guys really do think that there are a lot of bad people out there that want to hurt us and you have a very powerful protective instinct to fight against the bad guys....you are The Warriors who protect the Village from harm. That is good. I think us liberals believe that you can protect better by making friends with others. We seem to disagree on the motivations and beliefs of our foreign neighbors.....like the North Vietnamese....conservatives seem to have believed that they were out to harm us; liberals believe they were just defending their homeland from foreign conquerors.

Interesting variation here with the last few posts of tasting victory (ironic name) suddenly trying to be conciliatory.
Meh. Doesn't work for me. I am old enough to remember Carter's starting the entire Islamo-terrorism by forcing the Shah to let that evil Khomeni back into Iran, thereby causing the downfall of the friendliest middle Eastern government other than Israel. Carter wouldn't even let the Shah come here for cancer treatment; Carter was such a swell Christian.
CARTER is why we are dealing with Islamic terrorists. The Shah would have shot all of them, and good riddance, I say.
And I have lived in various places around the world, and for those of you who haven't, here is a short primer on humanity:
Some of them are EVIL. A lot of them are envious of the United States and want to see us reduced to rubble. Some are very nice and admire us. Some don't care a whit about us one way or another.

My interpretation: Everyone is going to be MY slave to MY government. My plan is to slowly engulf the US in Marxism, as Fidel did in Cuba.
Lt. Col. West is the most clearly speaking person in politics we have today. BTW, he is greatly photogenic. I wish I were as good looking and clear speaking as is Lt. Col. West. He has a great future, and we have a great future by supporting him and his clearly elucidated plans.
Frankly, I cannot think of anyone else in politics that is remotely close to his clearly espoused agenda. He would, IMO, make an excellent President. He has the gift. We should help him process his gift.
I would pay big $ to have a public debate between West and Obama. It would be no contest for Obama, and a huge win for the United States citizenry.

"Personally I'd love to see West greet Pelosi the way he says he could."
I believe he will greet her exactly however he says he's going to.
He had to retire as a LT. COL because of an incident when an Iraqi policeman who was in a plot to assissinate him and attack his unit was uncooperative during questioning.
Intel said the local police they were working with were leaking details of their patrol activity to the insurgents. Apparently West wasn't so much worried about himself as he continued to patrol, but ambushes that fit the intelligence were increasing against his unit.
So when the Iraqi didn't give up the goods, he took him outside and laid him down, then fired into a clearing barrel.
When he was being investigated for a potential court-martial, he never denied the incident. He actually informed his chain of command of what he had done immediately after the fact, as well as his own staff. Not to brag about it, but to let them know he took full responsibility for it. During a hearing he said if he had to make any mistakes, he wanted to be sure to make the mistake in favor of his men. He added that he'd walk through hell with a can of gasoline for his men.
If he can talk straight like that when his whole future is on the line, I'd say he can do the same when meeting Pelosi.

Hey, Tasting Mom's Cooking - A couple of responses for you.
The real enemy is the Oligarchy: Political power derived from Economic power. . . Ace of Spaders = dudes with Stockholm Syndrome . . . The Government and The Elites and The Rich are One.
Hey, dude, there are two basic ways to plan your future - plan to get better, or plan to stay the same. I don't plan to be poor my whole life. I plan to move forward. Political power is alays derived from economic power, in every country. Find me an example of deviation from that. Socialism has been tried, many times, and it does not change that truth.
You get a bunch of liberal radicals in there like Bernie Sanders and they will break up THE BANKS and THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX quick. . . And completely destroy the economy and the social structure, making the country unlivable like Detroit. Hey, kids, at some point the bills have to be paid. The Soviets tried to compete with the capitalists, and failed on every count.
...ooo scary Cubans....what is your problem with poor people who take up arms and try to even the playing field so they can eat?? . . .
