There was a time when you could memorize the names of the players on every pro football team. This was possible because those players WERE COMING BACK to the SAME team year after year! This inspired LOYALTY among fans. Now....the NFL consists of a bunch of money-grubbing, limelight-seeking whores who are going to be BROKE 4 years after leaving the league. The NFL......it's a "Business". It used to be a game. 3 Rivers Stadium? It's Heinz Field now, cocksuckers! Enjoy your halftime ketchup! Brought to you by Febreze, the "official" air freshener of the NFL. WTF? Howard Cosell Remember Cosell, Dandy Don Merideth, and Frank Gifford? You tuned into the game as much for them as for the match-up on the field. Now you have Bob Griese prostrating himself on the altar of PC for saying "taco" after a hispanic name was uttered by his co-announcer. Cosell could call Mohammed Ali a n----- to his face and go out and have an O'Doul's with him afterwards. That's fucking street cred, baby! Griese doesn't have that. 110 I'm not surprised the nfl draft gets better ratings on average. There are a lot of individual mlb playoff games during baseball playoffs. There's only one draft at a time when a football nation country is starved for any football related news.

The world series ratings are definiteily better though - i know yanks phils got like 9.5 in one game while the draft usually gets like a 5.5 or 6 share.

111 137 I'm not surprised the nfl draft gets better ratings on average. There are a lot of individual mlb playoff games during baseball playoffs. There's only one draft at a time when a football nation country is starved for any football related news.

The world series ratings are definiteily better though - i know yanks phils got like 9.5 in one game while the draft usually gets like a 5.5 or 6 share.

Football just isnÂ¡Â¯t much fun when your team sucks. The first two games that they should have won but lost by three points, is an indication of how bad this season is going to be. Good defense, lousy offense. ThereÂ¡Â¯s a reason why Jake Delhomme was traded.

Some of DelhommeÂ¡Â¯s stats on the 2009 Carolina Panthers:

GP: 11

Completions: 178

Attempts: 321

Percentage: 55.5

Yards: 2015

TDs: 8

Interceptions: 18

Rating: 59.4

In other words, getting Delhomme as a quarterback was not an upgrade.

IÂ¡Â¯ll be surprised if Eric Mangini is still coach at mid-season. There are a few good playersÂ¡ÂªJosh Cribbs, Mohamed Massaquoi, Jerome HarrisonÂ¡Âªbut thereÂ¡Â¯s really no depth to the team. Teams like the Browns always find a way to beat themselves; theyÂ¡Â¯ve been pulling defeat from the jaws of victory since The Drive and The Fumble in the 1980Â¡Ã¤s.

The Browns are now 1-4. They could go 1-15. They've got a brutal schedule ahead, and that conclusion isn't far fetched.

IÂ¡Â¯ve been a die-hard Browns fan since 1964. Right now, my patience and enthusiasm are finally at deathÂ¡Â¯s door.

I really hope IÂ¡Â¯m wrong, and IÂ¡Â¯ll be happy if proved as such. But with the BrownÂ¡Â¯s reputation of playing for only half a game, interceptions, stupid penalties, and failure to capitalize on turnovers, itÂ¡Â¯s doubtful.
