Taiwan Animation On The Ground Zero Mosque
— DrewM

The idea that Americans are fruit throwing Islamophobes is annoying but I think many will forgive that once they see Obama praying to Mecca in the Oval Office.

Added bonus...a special appearance by the Ground Zero Gay Bar.

Related:

According to the soon to be proprietor of NYC's first Islamic Gay themed bar, Taiwan has a bit of its own problem with Islam.

Via Jayne Cobb, er, Adam Baldwin, The Muslim Brotherhood blames Robert Spencer and Pam Geller for attacks on Muslims.

Let me get this straight...Muslims as a group are in no way responsible for terrorism. Ever. Not in any way shape or form, not matter how many winks, nods and outright calls there are. But two writers are personally to blame for the actions of two unrelated people (to the writers or each other)?

I'm sorry, how's that work exactly?

The burning HUSSEIN was a nice touch.

Speaking of burning things...

If the burning of American flags is protected free speech, then why isn't the burning of Korans viewed the same way (or flushing them, or shooting holes in them...)?

21 Greg has now been immortalized forever in Taiwanese animation; priceless. Beach blanket burqa? A member of the village people emerging from "Greg's Gay Bar?" Asking us to subscribe to their channel in english? Taiwanese animators are just shamelessly pandering to the morons now. But yes, I do think that a Jewish deli next door to the mosque and the gay bar is another fantastic idea; capitalism FTW. Names for the deli anyone?

I only got through a few comments before quitting in disgust but the ones I got through were all of the "you can't blame Islam these were isolated monsters" variety.  I'd be more impressed if these people were truly doing unheard of horrors as opposed to just being over the top in the treatment of their maid.

Uh-oh. Our favorite animators have desecrated Islam by depicting Korans being thrown into a trash can and then being lit on fire.

You know how those Religion of Peacers feel about anti-Islam cartoons!

Posted by: OxyCon at August 26, 2010 08:35 PM (eJ7Yr)

42 This is why they were considering banning this animation in Taiwan. It gives the impression of facts occurring when they did not happen, i.e. fruit throwing, etc. In Taiwan, they would "re-enact" crimes that no one really witnessed, and show them before they went to trial. Keep in mind, recently an American was accused of murder and essentially tried and convicted by the Taiwanese press when he was innocent. I am not sure I like this technology. Yes, its fun, but trust me, it will be used by the Left ala "Palin said she can see Russia from her house."

Posted by: sexypig at August 26, 2010 09:18 PM (0t7L8)

43 Oh, and for sure the Taiwanese exploit Indonesians and feed them pork. Chinese love pork, so it would be a hassle to be halal. Though, technically if the Muslim never was told, it would be fine. Actually, if a Muslim is starving, they can eat pork and drink beer if that is all that was available - committing suicide is the greater sin. Maybe I could create a crazy dude ranch where I starve Muslims and then offer them beer?

"It seems Islam is equated with terrorism."

Wow.  They're right.  How could we be so thoughtless, racist, Islamophobic, intolerant and just all-around Not Very Nice Folks?

We all know--or at least, those of us who don't get our worldview from Fox News or talk radio--that it was Presbyterians who crashed those hijacked planes into the WTC and murdered 3000 people.

My utmost apologies to the Islamic world.  (Bow, bow, scrape, scrape.)

47 Hey who's not open to a cult founded by a pedophile who married a 6 year old and F'd her by age 9, spread his cult by the sword and his ardent followers, who get their instructions from his book and example in the form of the Koran and Hadith, rape and enslave women, behead those that disagree with their religion, and do not have a single moderate figurehead denouncing terrorism while not behind their back broadcasting in Arabic about how evil freedom and the West are?

Sign me up!

There is no such thing as a 'moderate' or 'peaceful' muslim. Peaceful muslims are not actually muslims at all because they do not follow the teachings of the Koran and follow the example of Mohamed's life in the Hadith. The 'peaceful' portion of Islam is described A.) When Mohamed lived in a city and as yet had no major political power, so he had reason to play nice while attracting followers. B.) Islam will be 'At Peace' when the entire world is dominated by it, according to the words of their own scholars.
