Taiwan Virtual News: WSJ vs. NYT
— Dave in Texas

I know, it's DrewM's gig, but he's face down in a bar ditch with three bodies and a crappy alibi.

It's almost as if they're offering an opinion on new media, ain't it?

via The Only Important Man Up In That Lighting Booth.

also, wow, I'm slow, I just caught the "West Side Story" reference. Who knew that was popular in Taipei?

Not me.

13 Hmmm. lets see. Rupert is a businessman that has built a successful media empire and makes money. PinchMyLoaf is the son of the son of a newspaperman with an inherited fortune that is mostly dwindled. Who you gonna bet on. Didn't we just have this conversation with Barky never having a real job before and not knowing shit about what he was doing, but being actually responsible and stuff? Sounds like a repeat of the rich kid no responsibilities then the whole world lands on his head story to me.

14 Who were the gangs in West Side Story?  It was the Sharks and the Something-or-Others.  And which one was the PR gang?  I should know this.  My sister sang in the chorus of a high school production of West Side Story.

My memory is failing me.  I'm getting old.

I do recall that the whole thing is based on Romeo and Juliet.

It's only just out of reach, Down the block, on a beach, Under a tree. I got a feeling there's a miracle due, Gonna come true, Coming to me Could it be? Yes, it could. Something's coming, something good, If I can wait! Something's coming, I don't know what it is, But it is Gonna be great! With a click, with a shock, Phone'll jingle, door'll knock, Open the latch Something's coming, don't know when, but it's soon; Catch the moon, One-handed catch! Around the corner, Or whistling down the river, Come on, deliver To me! Will it be? Yes, it will. Maybe just by holding still, It'll be there! http://goo.gl/JIRU The whole movie is HD is now in parts on YouTube

171 In BO's defense, wedding bands do get lost or broken.  My dh's first band got lost in a car fire he was trying to put out - I was there at the time and the firemen even helped us look for it, but it was gone.  His second band had to be cut off when he broke his finger horseplaying with the kids.

I haven't worn a wedding ring since I got pregnant the first time and had swollen hands (17 years ago), and I suspect in this economy, we'll hold off on a new band for him until we're sure we won't need that money for the mortgage or the car payment or something.  My dh and I still know we're married, and so does everyone else.
