Teabaggers Attempt to Poison Fellow Soldiers' Food Supply at Jackson, SC
— Ace

The Teabaggers, whose beliefs could come right from a Tea Party poster, were part of a Muslim, I mean Arabic, translating unit, and are alleged to have attempted to poison their fellow soldiers, as Teabaggers tend to do, when they're teabagging.

Let's just call Iran's mullahs Teabaggers while we're at it.

26 OT... Hewitt is pushing this, from Talking Points Memo... not sure how serious this is. It's from überleftwad Josh Marshall, and he doesn't sound that convinced: I'm starting to wonder what's up with this letter to Sen. Reid (D-NV) circulating among Democratic senators to demand that a public option be added to a reconciliation bill to be pushed through the senate. I'd seen it as more nostalgia than serious organizing. But Sen. Schumer just sent out a fundraising letter telling supporters he's on board now too. So perhaps the zombie Hellcare is clawing its way out of the grave. Any ideas?

Columbia, SC (WLTX) —

Officials at Fort Jackson tell News19 that before Christmas several soldiers were detained in an ongoing investigation.

Right now we are told the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division is handling the investigation.

Several national news organizations are reporting that several soldiers tried to posion the food at the fort.

The media relations staff at Fort Jackson tells us that no one was poisoned and they are working on finding out if any of these reports are true.

WLTX.com will post more information when it becomes available

Also, Fox finally put up a article:

73 I had a 09L assigned directly to me for our second tour. My guy was a real estate agent from California and was married to a blonde Southern Baptist. His religion was not high on his personal list of priorities. He smoked, drank, and occasionally would even sneak a bit of bacon. Even so, I told him the one Arabic phrase I really knew was "Shoot the fat one with the glasses first", and if I ever heard it out of him, he was getting it.

My guy was very useful, and he helped run the snitch network we inherited from the Illinois narcotics detectives in the NG battalion we replaced. He turned out to have a real genius for it. It took a long time for the results he got us to earn him the trust we would have given anyone else. As it was, he was probably the single most valuable member of the unit over the long haul.

I think it's a very valuable program, and some of those guys are worth the risk. Vetting them is damned near impossible. Watching them like hawks and keeping them seperated from their buddies so they don't go nurturing grudges in their own language is a major plus. The two of us were sort of an element by ourselves and did our own thing a lot (inside the wire, no James Bond shit) on a 24/7 basis, and I know I couldn't have done it without him. But the flip side of that coin is for every stud you recruit, you probably get a couple duds who can't assimilate. Hell, I'd be the first to say my guy was a lousy goddamned soldier, but he was a languages and mil-intel genius.

I'd hoped he'd go on to the CIA or something, but he said he was done. He went home and went back to real estate.

At this point it should be obvious that the Joint Chiefs of staff and the military high command are a graver threat to our national security than any other entity.

They knowingly allow this activity within the army ranks but are too hamstrung by political correctness to act in the country's best intrests.

The enemy is truly within.... it's sad to watch the demise of this nation before our eye's. This country will never outlast the Roman Empire as the longest functioning form of a Republic. We don't have the balls any longer.

He eats off post 99.9% of the time. Like most (non-Basic) folks, I guess. If the bad guys were smart, they'd poison the nearby chains.

Super duper happy about busting these guys. Whoever did it: Thank you! :0*

96  My dad was stationed at Lejeune for quite some time...water didn't seem to cause any ill effects.

I'm glad they got busted too -- one of my kids was at Jackson for basic.  First Hood (have one there too), now this -- crikes, my kids are safer deployed.  I'm thinking since waterboarding is so very wrong -- how about making them walk repeatedly over hot coals?

103 Amanda and Unknown Jane.  God bless you guys and your families.   My boy graduates Combat next week.  I can't stand to think too far into the future.  This blog keeps me sane by making me laugh.

108 I dunno... I guess it'd be OK to watch Conan fuck, but I've never put that much thought to it.

109 Since figurative frat boy hazing is considered torture, perhaps we should sentence them to actual frat boy hazing. Anyone know of a good frat? TKE? I know they eat massive burritos. How about a pay-per-view beer pong marathon?

I am curious to see what justice looks like nowadays. I prefer the 19th century version but it's not up to me.

Bless you and your kids, unknown jane. Congrats on the graduate, Jane D'oh. I hope the mil doesn't have to make "Anticipatory Grief for Those with Loved Ones Posted Stateside" pamphlets. At least we won't have to sit through the PowerPoint version.

Maurice ships Piggy Park sauce over the internet.  I order the Patriot Pack when I get low on what my son calls The Sauce of the Master Race.

114 Semper Fi to your kid Jane; he'll be fine.  Have you considered one of the family support groups?  It helps some people I think.

115 Thanks, Unknown Jane.  Yeah.  I've connected on line.  I don't have a single acquaintance who has a kid in the service, but that's okay.

I was born @ Ft. Jackson.

And...I used to love the mustard sauce on the BBQ in SC, 'til I moved to NC.   Now, I can't stand the mustard.   NC BBQ is teh shiz.

122 Ps. any of you ladies (or gentlemen, if there are any here with similar circumstances) ever need a shoulder to cry on, or just somebody to freak out to...well, I am more than happy to offer the services of my shoulder -- deployments are always a test of your grit, that's for sure, sometimes it's good to have somebody to talk to.

123 Ehem, and say what you will about Maurice's...but don't be knocking Carolina gold style BBQ sauce!  I'm not saying it's my favorite, but it is pretty damn tasty; mmm, on pork, especially if it's been cooked over apple wood with a touch of cinnamon and a little touch of clove in the spice rub?...come on now!

125 Geez.  Oldest daughter went to Ft. Jackson for boot camp two years ago - somehow, I'm not terribly surprised that something like this could happen there.  The whole place seemed to be a little - well, lax.

Being from Texas my honest reaction on being told of "Yellow Barbeque":

"You're shittin' me."

Okay, mustard or whatever....if it's on pork it oughta be okay.  It's hard to ruin pork.  I mean, it's still pork, right?

Posted by: Dave in Singapore at February 18, 2010 06:39 PM (OBDWE)

127 Ahh, expand your taste horizons my friend -- when it's made right and the meat is cooked right (it's good on pork, but it works pretty nicely on lamb too) then it makes for a nice change of pace.

128 My mustard sauce has been fondled by the TSA. I fly with it. Thanks for the piggie link! And, thanks for the offer Jane. If anyone ever needs care package advice, I'm your girl. I'm passionate about it.

129 FT Jackson, I did BCT there the food at the DFAC was Four Seasons compared to what we had at FT Leonard Wood for AIT. Even then I still throught they could be poisoning us, forst of all I give you a little secret, in Boot recruits no longer do KP, because of this the DFAC is now contracted out and they hire two  types of people retired military (good, ok with that) and EX-Convicts. We even had a DS who told us that.  Ex cons who learned their food poisoning trade in prison where they were also turned into muslim radicals.

130 #86, if it was 1986 it would have had to have been a different Beckwith as your battalion commander.

COL "Chargin' Charlie" Beckwith of 1st SOFD-D fame retired after Operation Eagle Claw in 1980 and staying on to begin organizing what became JSOC, I believe he hung it up in 1982. His battalion command was 2/327 Infantry of the 101st during Vietnam.

Currently playing the DS version of FFIV, as part of my goal of beating or rebeating the series (save FFXI) prior to playing FFXIII. Beat FFI (the GBA version)*, skipped to IV, so that I can get to The After Years. The remake of IV is even better than the original, as it restores all the stuff that was dummied out of the original. It doesn't really matter in what order the series is played, since the only series continuity is FFX -> FFX-2 & FFIV -> The After Years. Maybe some stuff releated to FFVII, but I'll have to do some research.

* Holy crap, Shinryu. Dude was far harder than Chaos, who I basically curb-stomped after applying the standard buffs.

Mr. Ace, it would appear that someone...*removes glasses* does not support the troops.
