— Ace "Unique" doesn't mean what it does in ordinary speech, so no, 100 million people haven't come here. (A "unique" is just like one visit in a two hour window or something; it reduces the raw figure from hits by not counting refreshes/comments that come faster than that.)
Still, it's a big big number. And it wouldn't have happened without readers and commenters, and the cobloggers and the terrific guest bloggers that sub in from time to time (and especially last week, thanks!).
I feel bad about this happening right now since I'm still burned out and not finding a good angle on stuff, and I know that my blogging is weak as hell lately. Would have been nicer if this happened during, say, the Ewok Stalker period
But still , it's a nice smile for the day. I am deeming today the 100 Million Moron March. Although, there will be no march, because it's cold and who the hell wants to march?

Here is my best interpretation of what he said: He hated people who "rigged the system" to benefit themselves.
So what does Caddell think a rich person is? The rich are rent-seekers and those who get rich by their proximity to government.
As a Democrat, I'm sure he truly sees it that way. All the rich guys he knows are CEOs of government-tied industries, people who are in heavily-regulated industries like banking, high-powered lawyers, etc. They aren't people who have provided a good or service that people voluntarily choose.

Dude, I understand, it's a face paced blog, and it's all about good product for the lurkers, and ensuring we stay interested enough to churn up interesting and entertaining discussion threads; but It's December dude. Our side had the big win, you can't keep that game intensity up forever. I mean really, we are in lame duck. The Democrats are doing, pretty much what we expected them to do. Republicans, fortunately seem to be blocking most of it. How much commentary can you write when the big story of the week is some bill that makes small farmers miserable; I mean if that is the worst they are going to pass on us this session, I'll count myself lucky. Even DC wants to call it a year, big Harry and mostly Nancy don't want to leave while they still have their finger nails in power. But everybody else would just like to see it end, go home for Christmas, and start again next year. How do you write commentary on "DC Wants to go home, but Harry and Nancy crack the whip in a hopeless effort to pass liberal agenda items, Republicans respond with a middle finger"

Seriously though...I haven't been around much the last month or so, work/home have been nuts. But, in the short time of my absence i find myself jonesing for an Ace fix. Also...I have no fucking clue as to whats goin on in the world of politics and more importantly moron world!!! The libtards get their news from MSNBC and John Stewart...Ace puts me all my fookin knowledge.

Congrats, Ace, for quite an accomplishment.
Please don't apologize for anything. I've been reading this site for about a year and a half, and have learned a lot from your insights and explanations. It's not surprising that anyone who has to engage in the daily sludge of politics would feel burned out, and I hope you take whatever breaks away you need. (I'm a caregiver for my terminally ill mother...I understand burnout.)
This site is so fun to read sometimes it's easy to overlook your smarts and dedication. Thank you.

I have to agree that it's a great blog. One of the main reasons, however, is that the commentors are not all dumb as dirt. Other places, not so much.
So true. I get tired of partisan cheerleading/heckling, and want some critical thinking and analysis from multiple perspectives. I have faith the conservative viewpoint will win the argument virtually every time on the merits.
Don't laugh at this, but I'd really like to find a liberal site where I'd get something similar. Don't get me wrong, I'm firmly a conservative, but I like to see things from other perspectives and have tried to see their side from a principaled POV. Rarely if ever do I see the merits of both sides of an argument considered on lefty sites, and the commenters have nothing of substance to say, complete waste of time. Even though the lefty sites I still occasionally visit are turning on Obama, it's still like consuming cotton candy for the brain. The lack of critical thiking and analysis is unbelievable.
