— Ace Hey, not saying you should change your vote, but your brother might think you should...
Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; he's obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Matheson's brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Isnt' this just another layer in what American Spectator mentioned a while back, with Sestak in PA being offered a high-profile post if he drops out? AmSpec pointed at that those are imprisonable offenses.
I would think that with that sort of stuff already floating around, the Admin would be careful to avoid things like this.

I think this move has to back-fire on Obama. Now there is no way Matheson can vote "yes" and avoid the appearance that he has sold his vote. And that will be important around here.

Ha! Ha! That's funny! This administration doesn't have to be careful to do or not do anything. They are arrogant, plus the media is in lockstep with them. They have nothing to fear--their insistence on passing healthcare reform with reconciliation just proves the level of hubris in the Democrat party.

The Precedent doesn't care. He doesn't care what anything looks like. He would just get up on TV and say that he never nominated the guy. He pulls this crap all the time. He's been daring people to try to throw him out, or find him ineligible (as he is) since the beginning. He just wants to cause chaos and he's happy to push us to all ends.
Think of Saddam Hussein intentionally dumping 40,000,000 barrels of oilinto the gulf and lighting just about every single oil well in Kuwait on fire, all as he was being allowed to retreat in one of the most humiliating military defeats in all of recorded history ... that's what The Precedent is up to. Maybe it's a "hussein" thing ...

CNN and NBC will hold it as long as they can, which means, until Fox starts running it as a lead story. Fox is going to hold up until they have double and triple checked the sources on this bad boy. Because this is D*CK on the table sort of news that would be used against Fox if the sources were bad. Your either right or you get smashed. And Fox doesn't have to worry about getting scooped by NBC and CNN. So expect Fox to approach this one cautiously wait for denials, then start pelting with it.

As for additional taxes, there's no telling how much stuff is getting thru under the radar, right now. I'm sure we're going to wake up one day and find out we work 11 months for the damn government before we get even one month out of the year to put in our pocket.

Exactly. For pete's sake, they already legalized voter intimidation and voter fraud, simply by refusing to prosecute it. These people are no more noble than the worse of the bolsheviks or the nazis. There is no law they will enforce against their own kind. There is no law they will not break in order to take power. Including crimes of violence.

The PA's in my family are always angry as they are totally neutered in our state as is the one pharmacist who thought that they would be able to advise physicians as to the correct drug to prescribe freeing them of having to know all the drugs but that was overturned by the state. So now all the pharmacist can do is to make sure the doctor doesn't prescribe something for the patient which will interact with another drug the patient is taking in a negative way. here all the time how this bunch saves the doctor's butts and gets no thanks.

Obviously when these guy stole candy form the store when they were three their moms didn't march them back to the store to apologize and give the candy back. Instead they said "well the candy store man is a rich small business owner and he deserves to have things stolen from him if he doesn't watch his merchandise and his customers". OT- This is from DU tonight. She's shocked! I tell ya, Shocked!
Got a call from my Army Ranger son. He and his troops saw Obama.
I wanted to hear him bust with pride, telling me that seeing his President -- this President -- had made an impression on him.
Instead, he said: We were assembled there...the 1st Ranger Battalion, one of only 3 Ranger Battalions in existence (and of course he listed them). And the President gave us a nonchalant wave as he rode past us. Not more than a glance and a little wave. Like he didn't recognize who we were, like he didn't care.
That from my son who is getting ready to be deployed yet again into harms way -- his second tour in Afganistan, third since he joined.
This is sad for me.

The 6.5mm is the bullet of choice for LR competition and has been for quite a while. The ballistic coefficients are superb.
I have a 6.5 x 284.
The 260 Remington is the commercialization of the LR competition wildcat 6.5 x 308... one of the first things the LR competitors did with the 308 is neck it down to 6.5.
But as your finding this blog is wrt gun is more about commodity bulk available self-defense / survival stuff. I have an FN-FAL 7.62 / 308 for that niche but it is a sprayer compared to the 6.5 x 284.

I have a Bushmaster XM-15 (gas-piston) and an M1A. I was really looking to fill that gap between the two with the 6.5.
The FN is definitely an attractive option, I was really just wondering if anyone had had experience with the 6.5.
I know the ballistics of the 6.5 are, overall, superior to the 7.62x51/39, 5.56mm and even the .308. It's a really nice round and I would be looking at a 24" barrel from Alexander Arms or an equivalent.
