— Jack M. in the Age of Obama.
Truly we live in an age of miracles and wonders, friends. Why, each and everyone of you will soon be able to live out your innermost Superman fantasies.
Except for Drew M. He usually fantasizes about being Aquaman's "living Octopus chair". That's one of the reasons i choose to "Make Mine Marvel" instead of D.C.
The humble T-shirt may soon be strong enough to stop a speeding bullet.Scientists in the US have developed a flexible shirt made of the same material used in tank armour, by combining carbon in the shirt with the third-hardest material on Earth, boron.
As a smart military and fashion forward blogger, I felt obliged to bring this story to your attention. Why?
Because this new t-shirt has an additional property that will likely come in handy now that our benevolent President has generously given the world a "your first punch is free" card.
Prof Li said the T-shirts could also block "almost all" ultraviolet rays, and possibly life-threatening neutrons emitted from decaying radioactive material.
It is my understanding that President Obama has ordered all further development of this t-shirt stopped, lest it be interpreted as a "hostile, cotton-poly blend, provocation" by the Iranians.
So get them while you can, is what I'm suggesting.

I usually have a bigger problem with stains than with bullets. Can't they just invent something for that instead?

If you said that this t-shirt makes Barry disappear...

Keep the momentum. This governent has to be stopped. I am willing to piss off the people who brought me this far (morons) to keep it going.
My daughter wants to bring some sort of sign, any suggestions? We've got an old "Don't Tread on Me" flag but I'm not real creative with ideas for slogans. I am really excited to go and experience it first hand. Camera and video camera are charging up right now!

Blue Hen - Maybe a checklist of some kind featuring what this administration has done and what it plans to do (401k grab; cap and tax; VAT) . . . followed by some catchphrase, like "Stop Obamunism" or something. There's always "Free the Whales!"

Oracle, the Dem had an enormous fundraising advantage. Further the Democrat was a formidable opponent (not a Coakley) in a district infested with Democrats. This was a wash from the get-go.
But, Wexler never received less than 66% of the vote, Deutch only got 62%. If solid blue districts go +4% R over the norm, think of what purple districts will do.

Washington (AP) - President Obama today announced that he would dispense with Secret Service protection in an attempt to reach out to what Press Secretary Robert Gibbs called "murderous, reactionary, gun-toting bigoted Snowbilly morons" and persuade them to "eschew the use of violence."
"If the Teabaggers recognize that the Administration is not a threat to their little fantasy worlds, we think that those grannies will stop waiving their racist signs and harassing civil rights heroes," Gibbs said. Gibbs pointed out how well the approach had worked with Holocause deniers in Iran. "It's all yummy gravy," he said.

Mrs. North and I just put the kids on the school bus. She's in the shower right now, washing her breasts.
We're going to Washington, DC today.
I have a list of 66 moron Congressweasels, cross-referenced with their caucus (in the case of the Blue Pigs) and their relevant committee assignments.
My message is simple:
NO to the VAT,
NO to AMNESTY,
REPEAL, don't REPLACE, healthcare,
and in the case of the Senators
NO to CAP and TRADE.
We're watching you and waiting. We may never in my life vote for someone who believes as you do, but we're eagerly awaiting your votes, in order to see who we should be sending money to defeat, who we should be phone banking against, etc., etc.
I carry with me, I hope, your blessings.

So, instead of the T-shirt being pierced by the bullet, the fabric is simply pushed into the massive chest wound that kills you?
Sorry, there simply can't be such a thing as a bullet-proof T-shirt. To avoid serious injury or death you would need so much padding and plates to spread the force that you would essentially be wearing a bullet-proof vest. Looking forward to the next generation of body armor from this invention, though.

With dreams of selling bullet proof muumuus and saris on Whole Earth Festival weekend (there's a lot of irritable Animal and Ag Sci people in our town who want the hunting season on hippies extended), my buddy, a Physical Chemistry professor, and I sat down at the Pub and looked over the article online. Unfortunately, our dreams were shattered when we discovered that the cotton t-shirts burn up in the nanotube conversion process; however, the up side is that you can use any bolt of cotton fabric for the process. Also, I think he mentioned that containing the acetylene may be a bit of a problem: meh, I've smelled worse-- like hippies.
