So tell me, Cicero (as in Chicago suburb, I presume) do you have a problem with my conclusion/analysis?

218 Ace,  I agree they are up to something,  however I have a slightly different take.   All of this niceness is not because they want to be more fair,  or need more viewers, or anything else.

It is an effort to win the confidence of the tea party people,  so that they can get lots of footage to edit at their discretion,  creating the impression that the tea parties are full of fools,  runes,  and racists.

My advice to anyone attending one of these events is to NOT talk to the media.  Do not give them sound bites.   You do not have to talk to them, since you are a private citizen.   Do not even offer them a cup of coffee.

Ace's point is that the media is never going to get it. No matter how much everyone realizes the media (like you) sucks, people naturally want to have their beliefs validated, so the suckers now pretend to validate the TP'rs -- only to lie in wait for the day they can blow 'em up with some scandal.

It helps to visualize the media as receiving their daily marching orders from the White House . It's obvious that most of the NYT's copy comes pre-written from there, saving the Times the expense of hiring sentient humans. After that, it gets re-phrased, rewritten and propagated to the world.

The only question is, where are you in that process? Journo student? Wannabe? Or someone in so deep in the media muck that all you can do is wave your arms and trash anyone who calls you out?

I like this site because I learn what the younger crowd thinks (me being a nice Midwest grandma) and also I learn a lot about military stuff,  which I need educating about.

Personally I'm not as concerned about this nonsense as much as I used to be because more people are catching onto the LSM's nonesense. The state run media are still private corporations for the most part. They are bleeding red ink literlaly and figuratively. It's only a matter of time before they get the Govt. bailout and truely become "State" media. The NYTimes will go first.

On the other hand, conservative online, print & TV media are doing very well. For people like me who still hold the naive view that capatilism works will conclude that conservatism will overcome the marxist message in the end.

But all this doesn't matter.... my opinions ain't worth a ball of shit... what really matters is... what does someguy think about all this?

As I related to you previously, I'm from England, and I know first-hand what 'socialism' means. Consequently, I will challenge anybody (including Ace) who gives the impression the MSM  is somehow "coming around" to support the Tea Party point of view. The MSM put Obama in power; the MSM is never going to change sides so as to now champion the cause of  the Tea Party movement.I would like to think you would concur.

239 That is my belief -- and yeah, I really do think it's a genuine conspiracy at this point. I do think the media coordinates these stories, coordinates its angles, coordinates its spin.

They're called, "Editors" and they control (a) pretty much what kind of people write for them and (b) what gets written in a news office.  Those leftists who entered journalism in the 1970s after Woodward and Bernstein made investigative reporting sexy, showing how to bring down a Republican Administration?  They're in their 50s now and have moved up the corporate ladder to the Editors' desks.  They're still committed socialists and now they get to shape public opinion to suit their philosophies. 

They of course are cutting their own throats doing this.  Readers are being driven away by the incessant ranting from both the editorial page and the news page.  Readership is dropping for all the left-slanted news sources and revenues are falling through the floor.  Their hope lies in consolidation and ultimately nationalization of the media.  Pravda-dization is the key to their survival and the goal of their efforts.  If they can keep Congress and the White House in their grip a few more election cycles they might just make it.
