— Dave in Texas I'm not a huge fan of the "Contract with America" fanfare/comparisons, but I do recognize the value of putting your agenda front and center. I don't think the "party of 'No'" crap really plays, because the prevailing sentiment right now from a majority of Americans sure seems to be not just "no" but "oh hell no".
That's not a loser. "NO" actually plays pretty damned well.
In an upcoming mid-term fight with the wave surging, you keep the momentum building. ALSO, you pay attention to the message you were handed by the voters in the primaries (a topic of some discussion here recently!)
So this Thursday, they plan to roll out their platform, a dozen or so differentiators, with some fanfare. I want it to be full of "no." No tax increases, no more outrageous payoffs to buy votes with public funds, no implementation of Obamacare, no more strangleholds on our economic liberty, no more shoving money into the public sector at the expense of the rest of us who actually create it in the first place.
No.
Obama whines "they have no ideas. They just say "NO".
You know something, President Wonderful? "No" is one hell of a great idea.

Obama's "idea" is to take what wasn't working before he came to DC and double how much we are spending on it.

Something like this ad, perhaps? It can be tightened up and it maybe doesn't need to be quite so heavy-handed, but this is the gist of it.

The State Media says Clinton was a good president and the economy was awesome under him...right? So I'm sure the Democrats would not have any disagreement with cutting Obama's budget in half...right?

They've discarded the term liberal, and love calling themselves progressives. This bit of word-smithing is smart on Cantor's part, as it reminds voters the left can change their names, but not who they are. I would expect to see more of this.

"We need to establish the proverbial lines in the sand and show we are serious about limited government," said Wisconsin's Rep. Paul Ryan, a leading conservative who is in line to chair the House budget committee if Republicans take control.

We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.

Sometimes doing nothing IS doing something.
Of course, that requires courage, something that is in very short supply in DC.

She whose name we shall not now speak, is about thirty grand shy of topping 2 million U.S. dollars since Tuesday. Somebody, somewhere must think she can win.
"We're gonna win the game, I guarantee it." Broadway Joe, 3 days before Superbowl III.
Superbowl III: Jets 16, Colts 7
And yes grasshopper, I am old enough to remember it. And yes, I will just shut up about it because
I know that you know where this is going (all sports writers, bookies, etc.
picked Colts over Jets with a huge spread).
Once I had an Irish girl
She was fat and lazy
Now I have this Yankee girl
Who damn near drives me crazy
OH!
Haul away and up she rises
Haul away and up she rises
Haul away and up she rises

Dear America,
We promise to do everything in our power to get Barack Obama to leave you the fuck alone.
Love,
The GOP.
That's all I need, really.

My Roadmap for America? The Declaration of Independence and the United States frikkin' Constitution.
If it don't fit, then you repeal it, or you vote against it. That's not a very hard concept to put to people.

Do not pass a single new law until you have repealed all the crap already there.

NO new laws. Party of Repeal.
Party of Undo? Could have one-up the D's new logo with a flashy CTRL-Z design.
