7 Ace, I'm not normally one to give you the "it's old" treatement, but dude...this is old. It's so old even my elderly aunts have forwarded it to me in emails (with the obligatory "How cute!!!!!" subject line).

Anyone listen to Beck this morning? He and his sidekick had a funny bit going about ridiculous analogies. It got to a point where all the analogies were about Republic going to your house to return your sunglasses...and then you kill him.

it was funny shit, and it was just wacky enough to be AoS thread material...well, back in the old days when threads had original humor in them.

14 Dog is a hoot. Named in honor of Pat Tillman? Should have been named for a Marine.

O/T but funny:

Charges dismissed in Fayette prison tobacco-straw case

The most serious criminal charges against two women accused of attempting to smuggle a 50-foot-long strand of 70 tobacco-filled drinking straws into the Fayette County Prison were dropped Tuesday.

Uniontown District Judge Michael Metros dismissed charges of conspiracy and criminal attempt at contraband against Ethel Meade, 57, of Adah and Jean Crossland, 38, of Uniontown.

Metros threw out the charges after defense attorneys Mary Campbell Spegar and Simon John argued that tobacco is not contraband under state law. Assistant District Attorney John "J.W." Eddy said he concurred with their findings.

[ . . . ]

In criminal complaints, Uniontown police said corrections officers confronted Crossland and a teenager after another prison employee saw the pair, straws in hand, standing on a 2-foot-high step stool under a jail window at 8:39 p.m. Jan. 17.

Police said the red drinking straws were taped together to form a 50-foot-long chain. They allegedly were filled with tobacco, cigarettes and rolling papers.

19 Even I don't know what kind of punching this is.

Posted by: rumguy at April 21, 2010 03:07 PM (ZTsmq)

20 My pug is so useless.  Her only skill is the ability to fall asleep at anytime, anywhere, in any position.  She frequently falls asleep on her back, with all four paws in the air and a stuffed animal in her mouth.

She gags herself?  HA! Even she can't stand how all pugs snore louder than Michael Moore when he forgets his CPAP in his limo.

23 There was a great sake bar in Nolita called Chibi's Bar. It was named after the owner Marja's white French bulldog, who held court there and skateboarded.

My husband and I watched the 2004 elections there. We were the only ones in the bar except for the owner and her dog. She was sad when the election was called for Bush, but she was never anything but polite regarding her political views. Anyway, we helped her close up, and then she got out the skateboard. The dog skated on it, then she wished us a good night, picked the dog up in her arms, and they skated off together.

25 My dog's superpower is to discern, locate, and eat my son's favorite toy. No matter where we hide them.

He says he named his dog after Pat Tillman.  I recently read Jon Krakauer's book on Tillman, Where Men Win Glory.

Tillman was a stud, very impressive guy. I learned he and his brother were at Ft. Lewis going through ranger training, he and his wife bought a house a few miles from where I grew up.  Such a sad story.  Made me mad.

29 bulldog registrations have skyrocketed the last couple years, both English and French bulldogs.  Wonder if it has anything to do with Tillman?

#4, LOL!

Bulldogs are hideous, even while skateboarding.  My gorgeous rescue can roll over, shake and catch food in his mouth tossed from good distances.  He does all the tricks for my husband who just uses hand signals because he's too lazy to get off the deck.  We haven't gotten past stay or come yet but first things first.  Truly a brilliant mutt.  My papered chihuahua seems to recognize his name although it's not certain at this point.  Still, when they're that cute, who cares.
