in defense of Steele, there was an election last November.

hence the spending

3 I couldn't finish the video.  My hatred of the ever smarmy Jon Liebowitz ruins it for me.

that's not a racist skit because Steele is a Republican, right?

Posted by: Senator Soothsayer (R-AoS) at December 16, 2010 09:52 AM (uFokq)

6 I had to mute it. But I did enjoy the pictures hanging in the background.

7 This is entirely unfair!  I should be interviewed too!  As the Vice President and de facto Democratic Chair I demand that Jon Stewart's bosses at E-Hollywood Television put those elves to work and get me on the show as well.  How else are people going to know about when Lincoln chopped down the cherry tree before invading the Alamo?

I thought the same thing but then remembered that this was the man that thought the 'What Up?' blog would be a good idea.

Some things people bring on themselves.

9 Isn't it about time for Stewart to go on a USO tour to Afghanistan?  And for his plane to make an emergency landing near, oh, Marjah?  Hilarity would ensue.  I can picture ol' Jon crying like a little bitch and peeing his pants when he learns he'll have to hide in a ditch until the Marines find him a ride to Bagram.

Posted by: Jane D'oh at December 16, 2010 09:55 AM (UOM48)

10 Stewart's smarmy unfunniness makes me gag. When someone has to try this hard to convince you he's smart, then he isn't that smart. When the late Milton Freidman, or Thomas Sowell talk, you know they're brainy all the way to the core, and they never need even try to convince you. I find Steward every bit as funny as Whoopie Goldberg and Rosie O', which is to say not funny at all.

11 Hi ya all you sick fuckers!1!1!11!!1!! Do your patriotic duty and manage to hold on until 2011. Don't dodge the death tax.

15 I have faith in the RNC and the next leader they will pick.  By faith I mean this time next year we will be wishing we had Steele back.  I hope Cthulhu chews them slowly.

Sshhhhh.  Jon Stewart knows his viewers aren't particularly well-versed in the realm of critical thinking.  It's Stewart SOP to toss out a fact sans context and treat the interpretation as a no-brainer.  This allows his audience of elite "progressives" to nod their heads knowingly and congratulate themselves on their ability to see the truth through the fog that obscures reality for us knuckle-dragging wingnuts.

A cheap laugh for Stewart and self-validation for the Leftard pseudo-intellectual.  It's a win-win!

But Steele does have to go.

21 Nice. Break out the popcorn.

Just goes to prove what most Chicagoans think: James Meeks is on this earth just to make Jesse Jackson look good.

I can't watch this, my computer's Canadian.  What Muppet?  Is it the one that fucks chickens and wears a cape?

Yeah, in the what if category, Glenn Beck?

24 Nice. Break out the popcorn.

Just goes to prove what most Chicagoans think: James Meeks is on this earth just to make Jesse Jackson look good.

Other things James Meeks intends to do when elected Mayor of Chicago:

-Replace the statue of Ceres on top of the Board of Trade with one of Cleopatra Jones.
-Pass a bill to make every Tuesday "No Honkies Day" within the city limits.
-Insist any reference to New York City made in city business be changed to 'Hymietown'.
-'Office of the Mayor' to be renamed 'The Inner Temple Of The Most Exalted Reverend  Ruler of The People's Republic of Chicago'
-EVERY Friday is Black Friday, baby!
-Change the city motto from 'I Will' to 'You Bet Yo' Ass!'.
-Address Chicago's dire finances with 'White Guilt Dispensation Stickers' at $30 a pop.

How the fuck anyone can think Stewart is relevant completely escapes me.

Posted by: Burn the Witch at December 16, 2010 10:19 AM (fLHQe)

26 All this made me think was that Steele is no more than a proxy for the real failure: Obama. Steele's failures are eclipsed by Obama's by orders of magnitude, but Stewart would be pilloried if he even mentioned such. That and there is no good puppet on Sesame Street that matches Obama. Maybe Sam the Eagle from the Muppet Show.

27 that's not a racist skit because Steele is a Republican, right?

Steele is a racist skit. They're mocking him the way he should be mocked.

It's not funny, but it's the right idea.

Posted by: oblig. at December 16, 2010 10:29 AM (x7Ao8)

28 Steele jumped the shark in his Roland Martin interview.  I haven't hardly paid any attention to him since.  I think this skit pretty much sums him up for me.

29 So are the Muppets now officially political satirists?  And, if so, can we stop funding them now?

Posted by: Y-not at December 16, 2010 11:24 AM (IDL9N)

30 Nice. Break out the popcorn.

Here's an idea: how about contracts go to businesses that provide the best value on the best service, regardless of skin color, gender, or other characteristic?

Oh yeah... that would be racist. I denounce myself.

31 As Daniel Tosh might say, "It's funny because it's racist!"
